As the battle began, his opponent burst forward at incredible speed, striking Ren with a powerful punch.
And yet, strangely, Ren stood perfectly still, unmoving.
Everyone thought the punch had landed squarely on his body. But it hadn’t—the opponent’s fist had pierced through nothing but empty air.
“You… dodged?” his opponent asked, bewildered.
Shinozaki, who had been observing intently, shook his head. “No… he didn’t move at all.”
Albert gaped. “Huh?! Then what just happened?!”
Shinozaki narrowed her eyes, her face was serious. “That punch should have hit his target. But Ren… somehow, he made the attack not reaching him entirely.”
Sweat began to bead on the opponent’s forehead. “You… what did you do?”
Ren only glanced at him calmly, exhaling softly.
“I give up.”
The arena fell silent.
Ren stepped down from the stage and walked casually toward Shinozaki and Albert, sitting beside them as if nothing had happened.
His opponent stood frozen in frustration. “What the hell…? Why… why couldn’t my punch hit him?!”
The teacher hesitated, then finally declared, “The match is over. No winner.”
Disappointed cheers come from the crowd. Some whispered in curiosity:
“He’s so weird…”
“If he really doesn’t have a Role, then how did he avoid that attack?”
Albert stared at Ren, his face full of questions. “Was that a trick? Or… some kind of secret ability?”
Ren replied with a faint smile. “Maybe just luck.”
Shinozaki remained silent for a long moment before whispering, her voice quiet yet firm.
“Luck…? Impossible.”
she furrowed brow, her thoughts racing. “The Exterminator Role always targets its opponent absolutely. That attack shouldn’t have been able to miss. In other words… that punch must have hit him.”
Ren gave no response. He only gazed up at the evening sky, its colors shifting above the arena.

At night, on the grassy field.. there are two saints..
“So, what do you want to talk about, Renard?” asked Shouko.
“Soon... he will come,” Renard replied calmly.
“Who?” Shouko turned, suspicious.
Suddenly, a strange voice came from the darkness.
“Sorry to interrupt...”
A powerful explosion hit, shaking the ground and scattering all matter around it.
Renard and Shouko managed to dodge, but Shouko's arm was badly scratched.
“Still alive, huh?” said a boy who appeared from behind the shadows, his smile cold.
“Who are you?!” Shouko shouted.
“Hm... something you often refer to as Gods, and I am one of the strongest among the Lesser Gods.” His voice echoed with arrogance.
He stepped forward, darkness covering his body. “I have come to destroy all Saints. Call me... Darkness God, Poella.”
Poella kicked the ground, her body disappearing into the shadows. In a moment, he was in front of Shouko. A black fist struck, creating an explosion of darkness. Shouko was thrown back.
Poella kicked the ground, his body disappearing into the shadows. In an instant, he was already in front of Shouko. A black fist struck, creating an explosion of darkness. Shouko was thrown back, rolling on the ground, blood dripping from her mouth.
“Shouko!” Renard dashed forward, his sword of light raised. He slashed, a blinding white light piercing the darkness. But Poella caught the blade with one hand, her smile widening.
“Light? Interesting, but not enough.”
Black energy exploded from Poella's body, devouring Renard's light. Renard's body was thrown back, his chest burning.
Shouko staggered to her feet, her eyes sharpening. She activated her advanced analysis, trying to read Poella's movements.
“She's too fast... a direct attack won't work, Renard!”
Poella reappeared, this time above them. His left hand condensed the darkness into a large spear, which she then threw. The spear slammed into the ground, creating a wide-radius explosion.
Renard and Shouko barely had time to dodge. The grassland turned into a crater, the air filled with dust and smoke.
Renard stood panting. “Shouko, we have to break through his defense. Otherwise, this will never end.”
Shouko nodded, her hands trembling as she held her wounds. “Give me a break. I'll show you the spot.”
Renard darted forward, light enveloping his body. He rained down a flurry of slashes on Poella. His sword danced, each swing emitting a light that could burn through the darkness.
Poella moved as fast as Renard's light, parrying every attack, then responding with a powerful kick that shook the ground. The battle became a clash of light and darkness, making the air shake.
Shouko focused her gaze, her eyes flashing. She saw a pattern. “Renard! His heart—now!”
Renard burst forward at full speed. His sword turned into a pillar of light, piercing Poella’s chest. A cracking sound was heard, and Poella’s body staggered.
But soon, the wound closed again. Poella chuckled softly. “You guys are pretty good. But I am a God! As long as my Source remains, I can't die.”
The Source of God is something that is like a concept of each god, it acts as the Concept of Life for a god and represents the Concept of each god.
His body trembled, black energy surged. The wound on his chest disappeared.
“Just like my Talisman...” Renard muttered.
Poella raised his hand. The night sky trembled.
“Now it's your turn to die.”
The air stopped. Leaves, dust, even sound... froze.
“Time Stop” Poella said softly.
Shouko froze, her eyes blank. But Renard was still moving, his steps heavy, but his eyes glowing.
Poella raised his eyebrows. “Oh? You can still fight? Interesting.”
Renard gripped his sword tightly. “I am not bound by time!”
Poella lowered his hand. From the sky, a storm of fire and ice fell simultaneously. The ground cracked, the sky split by black lightning. Darkness created destruction.
Renard pierced through the storm, the light on his body repelling the darkness. His sword slashed against the lightning, his steps piercing through fire and ice. His body was burning, wounded, but his eyes did not waver.
Poella created thousands of shadow spears that shot out at once. Renard slashed, breaking hundreds, but dozens more struck his body. Blood flowed, but he kept stepping forward.
“What motivates you, Saint?” Poella asked as she prepared her final attack, a big ball of darkness.
Renard raised his sword, an unusual light enveloping him. The light moved strangely, as if defying the laws of physics.
“Exorcism!”
He shot forward, his body becoming a line of light. Poella released the ball of darkness, its explosion sweeping across the grassland.
However, Renard pierced through the wave. His sword stabbed Poella's chest once again. But this time, the light of his sword trembled—piercing not only the body, but something deeper.
“Conceptual Attack!”
Poella's smiling, his body staggered.
Renard felt Poella's Core crack, then disappear.
The Darkness God's body slowly vanished, the shadow enveloping her scattering.
