I Was Supposed to Be Just a Student, Yet Somehow, the World Got It Wrong.

Chapter 1 – The Promised Time

Among billions of planets, millions of galaxies, thousands of multigalaxies, hundreds of universes, and dozens of multiverses...

there is a small star. Although the star is relatively small in size, its light encompasses the entire multiverse.

The star is called The White Light.

The star has a white light with a white surface resembling stone, and it simply remains stationary in space.

However, the star is actually moving.

Slowly, it approaches a space.

This causes heavy friction between the two, until finally, the star slowly begins to release the pressure inside itself and eventually explodes.

The scope of its explosion triggers a chain reaction of other star explosions within its range, causing all multiverses to shatter, but the fragments of the star reflect its light one last time..

creating a shadow..

“I wonder how and what process that is,” said a woman

She appeared to be in a void, her eyes glowing gold.

“It seems the world is beginning to rotate again,” said another voice in the room.

“Is this the promised time?” asked the second voice.

“No, when that time comes... we will be free from this space and head toward the sea,” said the woman.

...----------------...

In a park, several children were gathered and playing.

“Hey... are you going to spend all your time sleeping?” whispered Shinozaki.

“What else can I do? My role is Dreamer,” said Albert, who was starting to wake up.

“What's so great about being a Dreamer?” asked Ren.

“I can create dream spaces and pull other people's consciousness into my dreams without them realizing it. There, I am omnipotence!” Albert answered proudly.

“Liar! If that's the case, then you're very strong and invincible!” Ren said.

“I know its weakness,” said Shinozaki.

“Shh! Don't tell him!” said Albert.

“Woahh! How do you know that?” asked Ren, surprised.

“My role is Analyzer. I can figure out other people's abilities and weaknesses!” Shinozaki said proudly.

“You all have amazing roles...” Ren said sadly.

“By the way, what's your role?” Albert asked.

“My role is...” Before Ren could finish, Albert and Shinozaki's parents called them...

...----------------...

Time has passed quickly. The children who used to play in the park are now teenagers, living their high school lives with full excitement.

Albert and Shinozaki, as siblings, now stand out as partners known as the “Dream Hunters” at their school. Albert, with his Dreamer role, is often laughed at for his habit of sleeping in class, but he has secretly mastered the technique of drawing people into his dream world. He can even create collective dreams, putting the entire class to sleep without them realizing it.

Meanwhile, Shinozaki, with her Role Analyzer, has become something of a “school genius.” Just by watching someone fight once, she can find their weaknesses. It's not uncommon for seniors to be very cautious when facing him.

On the other side, there's Ren. The orphan grew up differently. Since childhood, he has never once shown his Role. Whenever asked, he would only smile faintly and change the conversation.

That day, on the school's large field, the students were conducting a simulation exercise—a kind of Role battle to practice cooperation and strategy. Albert was lying on a bench at the edge of the field, feeling lazy. Shinozaki stood in the middle, staring intently, analyzing every movement of the other students.

“Albert, don't sleep yet! You're going to be called to fight!” shouted Shinozaki.

“If I sleep... then my opponent will have to be more cautious,” replied Albert with a yawn.

The atmosphere was lively with the cheers of their friends. But only Ren sat at the edge of the field, watching in silence. Some students whispered.

“Why doesn't Ren ever participate in practice?”

“They say he doesn't have a Role...”

“How is that possible? Everyone has had a Role since they were three years old.”

Ren heard them, but only looked down. He was used to other people's suspicious glances.

After several rounds, the teacher called Ren's name. “Ren, it's your turn.”

The whole field suddenly fell silent. All eyes were on him. Ren stood up slowly, his steps calm. His opponent was a student with the upper class of role, a child with the Role of Exterminator, one of the roles that had three Key Skills. He was able to create a small zone around him that slowed down his opponent's movements and reduced their defense. In addition, he could bypass all defenses and also stunned his opponents with his gaze.

“So, the kid without a Role finally decided to step up?” his opponent teased.

Ren merely smiled faintly. He entered the arena without uttering a single word.

In the audience seats, Shinozaki watched intently. “... Weird.”

Albert opened one eye and watched too. “What’s weird?”

“I can’t figure him out,” Shinozaki replied in a surprised tone. “It’s like... he has no weaknesses.”

Albert fell silent, his eyes fixed on Ren with a curiosity he had never felt before.

The fight began. His opponent attacked Ren quickly and hit him hard. But Ren stood still, not moving at all.
