The day passed like water flowing in a river fast, smooth, almost meaningless.

I was at home, like always.

Rang. Rang. Rang.

My phone buzzed again and again.

I Denied it.

Denied.

Rang. Denied.

The calls didn’t stop. It was from home. My mother. She kept calling after hearing I quit this job too.

The fourth time this week. The fourth time I walked away.

Jobs were never my cup of tea. I couldn’t handle the pressure, the weight of people around me. I never could.

Now, I’m unemployed again.

They say, “Unemployment is the root behind every crime.”

Maybe they’re right.

Because last night—I committed one.

With blood still fresh on my hands, I entered my home. I washed them, scrubbed them, as if I could erase the truth.

But truth doesn’t wash away. No matter how much you clean, it comes back. It waits.

One day, definitely—it will stand in front of me.




