Chapter 4

He lowered his gaze to the delicate lines of the wooden bench beneath him, then glanced sideways at his mother. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap, fingers fidgeting—always a sign she was holding something back.
A beat passed.
Then he asked, voice soft but steady.
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
That’s one of the reasons, eomma... What’s the second one?
Mrs. Jeon looked up sharply, startled by the clarity in his tone. Jungkook tilted his head slightly, eyes narrowing ever so slightly.
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
What exactly happened? Did someone say something?
His mother didn’t answer right away. Her expression faltered, lips parting like she might speak, then pressing closed again. The silence stretched thin between them, suspended by the weight of unspoken truths.
Jungkook’s voice dipped lower, not accusing—just quietly insistent.
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
Eomma... please.
Mrs. Jeon sighed, her shoulders sinking as if the breath had taken a part of her strength with it.
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
There was a comment...
She admitted finally.
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
From one of the elders on Yoongi’s fiancé’s side. From the Park family.
Jungkook stiffened.

Jeon Jungkook {Rare Omega}
What kind of comment?
~A WEEK AGO – MRS. JEON’S MEMORY~
The meeting had taken place in a luxurious private dining room at an upscale restaurant in Gangnam. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city skyline beyond soft drapes. A chandelier hung low above the polished table, casting a warm golden glow across crystal glasses and silver cutlery.
Only the elders were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeon sat opposite Mr. and Mrs. Kim, with the Parks seated to their left. No Yoongi. No Jimin. No Hoseok. This was strictly a family business.
Conversation had begun pleasantly enough—discussing wedding venues, ceremony styles, shared values. But soon, the air shifted.
Mr. Park cleared his throat, setting down his wine glass.
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
We’re proud of how far our sons and Yoongi have come. They’ve built a strong relationship. It’s only natural they take the next step.
Jeon Gong-Yoo {True Blood Alpha}
Jeon Gong-Yoo {True Blood Alpha}
Of course, we feel the same.
Mr. Jeon agreed with a polite nod.
Mrs. Park leaned forward slightly, tone measured but unmistakably firm.
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
There’s just one matter we feel needs to be addressed before moving forward.
Mrs. Jeon’s spine straightened ever so slightly.
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
Jeon Go-Eun {Dominant Omega}
Yes?
Mrs. Park smiled thinly.
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
It’s Jungkook. Your younger son.
Silence fell.
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
We were wondering...
She continued.
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Why is he not married yet. He’s an omega of a very suitable age. If he hasn’t found his fated mate by now… well, it does raise concerns.
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
Park Hye-Kyo {Royal Omega}
We just want to ensure Jimin, Hoseok and Yoongi aren’t held back. It would be better, perhaps, if Jungkook married first. Or they could marry together—make it a grand event.
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
We don’t mean to interfere...
Mr. Park added smoothly.
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
Park Sung-il {True Blood Alpha}
But we must consider Jimin’s future.
Before Mrs. Jeon could reply, Mrs. Kim did.
Kim Bo-ah {Royal Omega}
Kim Bo-ah {Royal Omega}
With respect...
She said, her voice calm but cutting.
Kim Bo-ah {Royal Omega}
Kim Bo-ah {Royal Omega}
Jungkook’s future is not a condition for our children’s happiness.
Mr. Kim nodded in agreement.
Kim Dong-Wook {Enigma}
Kim Dong-Wook {Enigma}
We support our son and his partners. Their life together is theirs alone to shape. We would never ask for someone else’s life to be adjusted to make it more convenient.
Mrs. Park’s smile faltered. The room fell quiet again, heavy with tension masked by polite silence.
Mrs. Jeon sat still, words caught in her throat. She hadn’t defended Jungkook—not then. She’d only clenched her hands under the table and let the ache settle in her chest.
