Chapter 4

On the way back

The air was cool, but Aradhya’s heart felt heavy.

She walked quietly beside Leonardo, eyes fixed on the ground.

Leonardo vitale

(frowning) Tell me the truth, Aru. Did something happen between you and Alessandro? An argument? A fight?

Aradhya Sharma

(softly)…Nothing

Leonardo stopped walking for a moment. He knew her too well. Her silence was louder than her words.

Leonardo vitale

Then what is it? What happened?

Aradhya Sharma

(still avoiding his gaze)…Nothing

Leonardo’s jaw tightened. His tone turned strict.

Leonardo vitale

Aradhya. Stop lying. What happened?

Aradhya froze.

Her lips trembled. Her hands fidgeted with her scarf.

Finally, her voice cracked.

Aradhya Sharma

When… the time comes… I’ll tell you. Not now

Leonardo looked at her for a long time.

Her eyes were moist, her face pale.

Leonardo vitale

(sighing, quietly)…Okay

They continued walking in silence.

At Home – Midnight

Aradhya locked herself in her room. The moment the door closed—her tears broke free.

She pressed her palms to her face, shaking.

Her sobs filled the emptiness of the small room.

Aradhya Sharma

(whispering to herself) It’s my mistake… all my fault. I deserve his anger… I deserve his silence

She clutched her chest, the ache unbearable.

Aradhya Sharma

I should tell him… I should say sorry… but…

Her voice cracked. Fear tightened around her throat.

Aradhya Sharma

(shaking her head)…I don’t have the courage. I… I’m so afraid of him. Afraid of losing him. Afraid of his rage

Her tears soaked the pillow.

Her body curled into itself, trembling.

The storm inside Alessandro… had already become her punishment




