The Love They Left Behind
Unheard
The room they’d given him was large, too large for one person, cold in the way only expensive rooms could be.
Taehyung set his suitcase down and opened it carefully. One shirt at a time, he placed his clothes into the drawers, folded with care that no one would notice. His vision blurred a little as he bent to lift the last stack — a slow, dizzy wave pushing through his head.
He sat at the edge of the bed for a moment, steadying himself with a deep breath.
Taehyung
(Murmured under his breath, fingers pressing lightly at his temple)It’s just been a long day.
Down the hall, muffled laughter floated through the walls — Jungmin’s bright giggles, Jimin’s soft voice, Yoongi’s quiet chuckle, Jungkook’s low murmur.
He pushed himself up again, ignoring the slight sway in his steps. He finished arranging the few belongings he’d brought — a framed family photo, a book he loved, small, soft things that felt like home.
By the time he closed the last drawer, his legs felt heavy.
He sat back on the bed, leaning into the headboard, one hand covering his eyes against the spinning in his head. A soft exhale slipped out, part sigh, part surrender.
Taehyung
Maybe… I should take a rest just for a bit (he whispered to himself)
Outside the door, a maid passed by quietly. She hesitated, almost knocking, then glanced down the hall toward the cluster of voices still orbiting Jimin and Jungmin. No orders had been given. No one had asked about the omega left alone in a new house.
So the house stayed warm everywhere except here.
And Taehyung, dizzy and exhausted, drifted into a shallow, uneasy rest — alone, unheard, unseen.
