Victor opened the door, and Emily slowly helped Amira out of the car.
Their butler, Carlos, rushed over to help them with everything.
As her mother held her shoulders and entered the villa, she saw two unfamiliar maids bowing before them. They had most probably been hired in her absence.
Amira went straight to her room. Her mother ordered the servants to cook her favorite dishes to celebrate her return. But she had neither the energy nor the mood for such things.
She had something else to worry about- the novel.
"What a nuisance," she muttered after lying down on the bed. The maids closed the door of her room before leaving.
"All for Rose"- something she had read in her previous life and absolutely adored.
Strangely, she remembered every single detail of this novel; it was all crystal clear to her. Did she love this novel that much?
The female lead of that novel, Rose Thompson, coincidentally shared the same name as her best friend. And just like her best friend, the female lead was a sweet and kind girl. But she was also smart and strong, and she never let anyone walk over her.
The female lead's best friend... also had her name- Amira Brighton.
Could it all be a coincidence? How can their names be the same?
Not just their names, why do both Roses have the same personality?
Amira's eyes widened. A crazy thought came to her mind... she came to an absurd conclusion.
Could it be... that she had been… reincarnated in the universe of "All for Rose"...?
She sat up immediately.
"Oh my God! This means I'm a character in a novel! What?! This can't be!"
Surprised and shocked, Amira let out a gasp and hurriedly she walked in front of the mirror which was standing by the window of her room.
Looking closely at her features, she tried to recall the details.
Amira Brighton's appearance had never been described in detail in the novel. She had light brown hair and green eyes.
That was all... no personality... no family... no motivation... just a simple character who would die while trying to unite the protagonists.
Amira snorted as she looked in the mirror. She really did have green eyes and light brown hair. She wasn't exceptionaly pretty, unlike the female lead, Rose, her best friend. Her looks were average.
She ran a hand through her wavy hair, lost in thought.
"Now what? I'm really in a novel where I die.", she muttered.
She was kind of freaking out.
The novel was a modern romance novel and the story began when Rose had just turned 23. She had finally landed her dream job as a receptionist at the Emerson Hotel.
But there, she mistakenly got tangled with the male lead, Kei Emerson, the hotel's owner whom she mistook for a janitor and thus, began their unexpected friendship.
After being friends for a while, they caught feelings for each other.
Naturally, Kei was the first to fall in love with her. Then, slowly but surely, Rose fell in love with him, unaware of his true identity.
But the problem arose when Kei was forced to get engaged to Amira, a marriage of convenience to tie the Emerson and the Brighton family together.
Unable to bear the truth, Rose cut off her friendship with Amira and rejected Kei's love.
But in the novel, Amira was the devoted best friend, the side character who would sacrifice her own happiness for the leads, that one character readers would always pity.
So in the end, she committed suicide.
After all, she was the obstacle to their love story. Amira wrote a letter, stating her last wish- 'I want Rose and Kei to live happily ever after'.
And that was how Amira's story ended in the novel. Finally, the protagonists were happy together… at the expense of Amira's death.
Not long after that, their story had ended too.
As Amira remembered reading all this, tears trickled at the corner of her eyes.
"Why?", she asked her reflection in a shaky voice.
Why did she have to suffer? Was her death really necessary?
