Episode 5: Night and Rio

The girl on the yellow dress gave me a small container and a glass. She told me to serve it. If I can't understand anything, just be silent. The man said it will be the first room on the left. I opened the door to see a girl dancing in front of a man. I immediately close the door and breathe. It's my first time seeing those things, but my whole body trembled and my chest was in rush.

"Just what is that?" I asked myself

The other door opened and the man who caught me came out. He pulled me inside which gave me a shock.

"Hey!! That's not how you treat a lady!" the man said and took me away from him

"Your Highness, Her majesty will really kill you this time" the man who pulled me said

"Hey! I told you not to call me with that name!" the man "Your highness" said

"I'm Night today! Night! A traveller who visits every brothel in towns" he added

The other man didn't argue at all. I put the water which smells like some kind of fruit. It smells sweet at the same time sour. This seemed to be not a type of tea.

"This liquor smells good" he told me

"But this is not a tea, Your Highness" I said

He laughed at me.

"Do you expect me to drink tea on some place this lively? You're interesting" he said

"Wait? Is this your first time?" he asked

"Indeed, it is. But Sir said to serve you tea and not this kind of drink" I said and got them

I saw the other man laugh silently. Then, the man I think named Your Highness pleaded that I have the right drink instead of tea.

"I'm sorry, I promise to make good tea" I said and left the room

"Why did you leave?" Sir Sunny asked when I bumped into him

"The girl on the yellow dress gave me the wrong drink" I explained

He just nodded and continue his walk. I went to the kitchen and saw Max cooking. It smelled delicious so I got few and thought if the guests would love to eat Max's cooking. I returned to the room and the man waited for me outside helped me on carrying the food.

"As far as I remember this house don't serve these foods" Your Highness said

"Your Highness, it is my brother's cooking that I recommend. I'm sure you'll enjoy his food because he said cooking with passion made all foods delicious" I stated

The other man tasted it first and then gave a new set of utensils to Your Highness which was weird because I brought it for him. But, since they are accomplice, maybe he is also a guest to entertain.

"Hey, what can you say?" Your Highness asked

"There's no poison nor anything that can harm you, Mr. Night" he said changing the Your Highness into Mr. Night

"Excuse me, may I know what is your real name. It is really hard for me to understand what to call you" I said

"Insolent girl!" the man said

"It's fine. Just call me Night, I'm sorry for the late introduction" Night said

"He is ahhmm.. Just call him, Rio. Yes, Rio" he also added pointing the other man

"Rio isn't friendly at all" I exclaimed which made Night laughed

"You're so innocent" Night said

"That's new, what's innocent? Ah? It's fine. I was ordered not to ask what I do not know" I said

"Being honest means you have no lies, you never deceive, but sometimes that will lead you to danger" he explained and patted my head

"But danger is scared of me" I said which made him laugh more

"Why?" I asked

"Nothing, why don't you tell me about yourself?" he asked

"I was on a journey to find the blessing moon mother told me. On the way,I was told I'm an orphan and they said they'll adopt me only to be awoke that they were all gone. On my travel, people always laugh and cry or do both. Then little by little I understand the words, mother, father and also family. Hey, Mr. Night, do you know what's the taste of revenge?" I asked

He looked at me and then patted my head again which I found comfortable so I felt like I want to be patted more.

"Revenge tasted differently on people, and so I can not answer it" Night replied and smiled at me

"Oh, that's quite confusing then" I said

"I want to know who's your brother, he can be a great cook someday" Night said

"Everyone told him, too. Yet, he said, he wanted to build a restaurant of his own and never make his family die in poverty again" I said

"Your brother is kind" he said and sighed

"You look lonely Mr. Night. Did Rio made you sad? Isn't he a friend? A child of one village said that a friend never make his friend cry" I said and glared at Rio who didn't mind at all

Night laughed again and patted my head. I just want him to repeat it all the way. Maybe I can ask the others to pat my head too.

"No, I'm just envious you have a lot of people around you" he said

"No, they all left. Only Boss and the others were with me" I replied

"Where did they go?" he asked

"I don't know. They always left me behind." I said

Someone knocked the door so Rio went out. When he returned he whispered some words to Night which made him looked pale.

"Are you sick? Is it because of the food?" I asked

"No, I'm just in a hurry. Thank you for a good time. Here, take this and don't late Mr. Sunny see that" he said

"Why?" I asked

"It is yours and for your family. I'm sure you can build a small restaurant somewhere in this city. I'll send Rio before you leave and visit that restaurant if I have time" Night said

"Thank you very much" I said

"Oh, before I forgot, that hairpin suits you very much. I think, Moon Flower is a great name for a restaurant."

That was his last words and left. I followed them down and saw Rio paid Mr. Sunny. Mr. Sunny had a shock and smiled. When they left, he gave me a shiny yellow thing.

"This is your payment. You can now rest in your quarter" Mr. Sunny said

"Can I sleep with my family?" I asked

"Sure thing" he said

I ran towards the storage room and hugged boss. He hugged be back and patted me.

"My job is done!" I said and gave him the yellow thing

Everyone had their eyes widened.

"This gold!" Boss said

"What?" I said

"Then this is?" I added and showed them the small bag

Boss pushed it back to where I hid it. The others were silent too.

"Kid tell me, what did your customer did to you?" Boss asked and it scared me a bit

"He asked me to tell something about myself" I replied

"Then?" Mark asked

"I told him and he patted me a lot on my head and it seems nice so I told him a lot which made him laugh and pat my head more" I said while smiling

Everyone exhaled a relief. I don't get why they became tensed when I received my payment. I wonder why they did that. Was gold something to be tensed for? If it was, I think I can give them some when I returned to moon mother's place. I saw the same yellow thing on the cave.
