..."First Showdown"...

Latona's POV

Watching our argument unfold, Master Pierre rushed down the temple.

"What is this commotion about!?" He said with an angry expression.

"Don't you know, it's disrespectful to fight near our temple!"

"I-I'm sorry Master Pierre" I bowed down, ashamed.

"I am thoroughly disappointed by the actions you've portrayed! Coming from descendants of Caelus! Tsk!"

Juno turned his back at Master Pierre and walked away.

"I'm sorry." Jupiter bowed and followed her.

"What's with Jupiter and Juno ?"

I felt sad and disappointed at Jupiter. I thought we had something.

Other than that, Master Pierre is looking at me, but his aura was calm.

I decided to approach him.

"Master Pierre, I'm sorry. I didn't know-"

"It's okay, Latona." He said as if he already forgave me.

"Follow me. I have something that may help you." Master Pierre looked into my eyes. I nodded and catched up to him.

Juno's POV

"Why do I have to keep telling you to stay away from those descendants!"

That fool Jupiter is arguing about my decisions near the exit of the busy streets where a gateway stood above us.

"You do not hold my life okay? I do my own decisions!" He argued.

I glared at him. As if that fool doesn't know that we're getting married soon.

"You and I are soon, going to be the King and Queen of descendants! So you better stop fooling around before you find your harlots dead!"

He just rolled his eyes at what I've said.

"Whatever."

"He said then turned his back against me !?"

"He seriously irritates me with his manners !"

"You fool!" I went after him and grabbed his arm.

To my surprise, he turned around and hit my face with the back of his hand.

He slapped... me..

I held my cheek that he hit.

"Stop with these ridiculous acts Juno, I am sick of your controlling attitude!"

"You made a scene in front of the Azure Temple! Now, you're trying to threat the other descendants!?"

"Do you think, you would be suited to be a queen with that attitude!?"

"Some good queen you are!"

He glared at me and walked away.

What's this bearing pain in my chest? The man I love just berated me.

Huh? Am I crying?

I remembered her face and our fight near the Azure Temple.

"Latona..." I gritted my teeth.

"This is all your fault..."

Latona's POV

Master Pierre and I arrived by the lake where they first found me.

"I know your dark memories may come back from seeing various places. First close your eyes and take a deep breath."

He said, as if he knows how to control it. I suddenly felt an urge to panic.

I immediately followed his instructions and it worked!

"The wound inflicted on your cheek, it's the reason why you're having hysterias."

"How do you know Master Pierre?" I asked him.

"I consulted the Azure Council about this condition of yours. The Dark Order's weapon are designed to inflict not just painful wounds."

"But also insert fear and darkness inside your bloodstream."

"Was the meeting about me?"

I stared at the lake as he said that.

"Here Latona." I turned at him and he was handing out a necklace. It's white and glowing.

"What is that?" My eyes that were caught by the necklace, looked at him.

"Chalcedony. It is known to absorb negative energy. Take it as a small gift.

I looked at it for a few seconds. I accepted it and wore it on my neck.

"Why are you so kind to me Master Pierre? After what I did earlier..." I looked down remembering my embarrassing actions.

He chuckled softly, saying,

"A kind heart recognizes a kind heart."

I smiled at his statement.

"Thank you, Master Pierre."

I feel so grateful at his kindness.

"Remember Latona, at any scenario never take off that necklace until you have mastered Light Magic which can contradict the darkness inside."

He gave me a reminder and looked down at my necklace.

"Which means, you are going to attend the Celestial Academy." He said smiling.

"When am I going to attend?" I asked.

"The next day. You can stay with Ceres temporarily, until the situation at the capital is under control."

I nodded at him. He accompanied me to that Ceres-girl's place. It is near the staircase leading to Celestial Academy.

Master Pierre knocked at her door.

"Ceres, are you home?" He waited for a few seconds and knocked again until Ceres opened the door.

"What brings you here Master Pierre?" She asked with a bright smile on her face but it faded when she saw me.

"May I ask if Latona can stay here for a while. She is going to attend the Celestial Academy."

Ceres looked at me with her eyebrows meeting together.

"M-Master Pierre..." As Ceres was about to say something, Master Pierre interrupted her sentence.

"I'm going to give you Academy Incentives, if you let Latona stay."

Ceres took another gaze at me, looking from my head down to my feet.

"Ugh! Fine!" She responded.

I still cannot understand why Master Pierre is so kind towards me.

As Master Pierre headed somewhere, Ceres let me into her home.

Throughout the evening, I helped Ceres with her chores. I observed she is slowly getting comfortable with my presence.

"Hey Latona, I'd like to ask you something." She said wiping the tables.

"What is it?" I respect while I sweeped the floor.

"Do you like Jupiter?"

I blushed at her question.

"Why would you ask that?" I kept sweeping the floor avoiding eye contact with her.

"I wanted to let you know that you have no chance at him. Juno and I are already fighting for his love."

I felt discouraged at what she said.

"I'm not giving up though !"

"I like you Latona, I believe you are kind but if I see you lay hands on him."

"You're going to taste my wrath."

We ate our dinner and decided to sleep in one room at the same bed.

"I missed mother's bedtime stories."

I sighed then looked at Ceres' face.

"So, this is how it feels to have a sister?"

I smiled at her before sleeping.

The next morning, Ceres and I cleaned ourselves and had our morning meal.

She let me borrow an Official Celestial Academy uniform and headed towards the academy.

But someone blocked our way.

...

Juno...

"Ugh! It had to be Jupiter's harlots that would ruin my morning!" She said with a disgusted expression on her face.

"You again..." I glared at her then dragged Ceres upwards to avoid conflict.

"Just where do you think both of you are going!?" She grabbed my arm stopping me.

"What do you want!?" I raised my voice.

"This.." She charged a white and red energy sphere towards my abdomen sending me off the staircase.

"Latona!" Ceres was about to rush downstairs but Juno stopped her.

I saw Ceres say something to Juno, but I couldn't quite hear it.

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS!" She shouted at her. Intimidated, Ceres moved back.

"Y-You!" I growled at Juno, coming down the stairs

"Feeling powerless now?" She's smirking and charged a brighter light beam hitting my chest sending off the necklace Master Pierre gave me.

My heart started beating fast, my vision is getting blurry.

I breathed heavier.

Juno seems like she was talking but I cannot comprehend what she was saying.

I can only hear my ears ringing..

..

My vision went dark..

...

"La...to..na"

A familiar voice called me out.

"La...to...na.."

Light crept in my eyes. My vision is getting clearer.

Ceres' terrified expression greeted me.

"Latona! What did you do!?"

I gasped at the scene unfolding around me.
