Chapter 1
Author
This is my new chat story.
Author
I’ve poured my heart into this story, and I hope it touches yours too.
Author
It’s inspired by real-life marriages I’ve seen.
Author
where Women who gave up their dreams, their careers, their entire identity for their families… only to be taken for granted. Not out of cruelty, but out of comfort.
Author
Because people forget what they don’t see every day.
Author
Through Taehyung’s journey, I wanted to explore that quiet pain… and the strength it takes to find yourself again.
Author
Let’s see how far he goes.
Let’s see who’s brave enough to truly stand beside him.
And let’s hope he learns — he was never just anything.
Author
I hope you’ll connect with it.
It started with laughter.
Polite, harmless, careless laughter. The kind that echoed too brightly in expensive hotel halls and stuck to your skin like perfume you didn’t choose.
Jungkook’s promotion party was grand , of course it was. The company spared no effort in celebrating its rising star. Waiters floated by in crisp uniforms. Glasses clinked. Plates were passed. Everyone looked proud. Everyone was his.
I stood near the buffet table, clutching a mocktail I hadn’t sipped. My cheeks hurt from smiling. The kids were off with their friends. Jungkook was in the center of it all — glowing under the golden chandeliers, surrounded by colleagues, superiors, admirers.
???
You’re Taehyung, right?
A woman asked, the corners of her eyes crinkling with polite warmth.
???
I’ve heard so much about you.
Jeon Taehyung
Nice to meet you.
Jeon Taehyung
I hope you’re enjoying the party.
Another man — older, possibly his manager chuckled beside her.
???
College legends, you two.
???
Everyone used to talk about you. Jungkook and his mysterious boyfriend.
???
You were like a walking fairytale.
???
Gorgeous, quiet, and impossible to reach.
People always remember appearances. Not effort. Not dreams. Not the way I used to stay up organizing events, balancing lectures, sketching blueprints of a future where I wasn’t just someone’s shadow.
But I let it all go. For family. For love.
I tried not to look at him too long. Jungkook was laughing, gesturing, at ease with the room. I knew that version of him ...confident, quick-witted, golden. The man everyone admired.
I wasn’t bitter. I told myself that so many times, I almost believed it.
Jeon Jungkook
Oh, my wife?
Jeon Jungkook
He doesn’t work. Just stays at home, takes care of the kids and my parents.
Jeon Jungkook
Lucky me, huh?
I stared at my glass. The room was spinning quietly.
Those words — they didn’t feel like a joke. They felt like a scalpel.
All those mornings I packed lunchboxes, kissed scraped knees, washed laundry that no one noticed. The nights I stayed up with sick children while he slept soundly beside me. The birthdays I planned. The hospital visits I managed alone. His mother’s appointments. His father’s medicines. The PTA meetings. The bills. The grocery lists. The mental math of everyone else’s needs, day after day.
All of it, shrunk into five words.
I left the room without anyone noticing.
Maybe that’s what hurt the most.
