chapter 3
I Stood in front of the KTH Group building, heart hammering in my chest, wondering what the hell I was doing here.
It looked even more intimidating in person—black steel and mirrored glass stretching into the sky, a flawless tower of power right in the center of Seoul. It didn’t feel like a place for someone like me. It felt… unwelcoming. Cold. Untouchable.
I Adjusted the strap on my messenger bag and tried to breathe like a normal human. Tried not to look like a university student who’d accidentally walked into the wrong building—though that’s exactly what I felt like.
I hadn’t applied. I hadn’t interviewed. And yet, there it was—an official internship acceptance letter from one of the most powerful corporations in South Korea, addressed to Jeon Jungkook with my exact school, department, and year listed.
A glitch? A mistake? Or worse… a setup?
I Didn’t have long to dwell on it.
A woman in a fitted black suit appeared the second I stepped through the glass doors. Her tone was polite, but her smile was all formality.
I Answered, trying to keep my voice from shaking.
???
Please follow me. The CEO will see you now.
jeon Jungkook
I—I thought I’d be meeting with HR?
???
No. Mr. Kim requested to greet you personally.
That wasn’t just unusual. That was unheard of.
I Swallowed the nervous laugh that wanted to escape and followed her into a private elevator. She scanned a keycard to access the top floor, and suddenly it was just the two of us, surrounded by reflective panels and silence thick enough to choke on.
Everything around me screamed expensive. Minimal. Impossibly clean. My shoes felt too loud. My clothes, too casual.
The doors opened onto a hallway that looked like it belonged in a futuristic museum—floor-to-ceiling windows, stone flooring, soft golden light bleeding in from one end.
And at the end of it, a set of glass doors stood open.
(sry if the picture doesn't meet your expectations)

Tall. Composed. Impossibly elegant in a black suit that fit like it was made just for him. He didn’t look up right away. Just the sight of him made something tighten in my throat.
His eyes didn’t just look. They searched. Pinned. Peeled me open with quiet precision.
He said, voice smooth and impossibly deep.
kim Taehyung
Welcome to KTH Group
I Bowed so fast I nearly stumbled
jeon Jungkook
T-Thank you, sir. It’s an honor—
He gestured to the seat across from his desk.
kim Taehyung
You’re not here to impress me. You already did.
I sat down carefully, trying not to fidget. My heart wouldn’t slow down. I could still feel his gaze on me, steady and unreadable.
jeon Jungkook
I… I’m not sure how,
jeon Jungkook
I Didn’t apply—
I stared at him, confused.
jeon Jungkook
Then… why me?
He tilted his head a fraction, and that smile—God, that smile—was almost gentle.
kim Taehyung
I like to keep an eye on talent. You caught my attention. And when something catches my eye…
kim Taehyung
…I don’t let it go so easily.
The way he said it—casual but weighty—made the hair on my arms rise.
He slid a folder toward me, his fingers brushing the edge just as I reached for it
kim Taehyung
Your schedule. You’ll be working directly under me. Light tasks, mostly observation. A bit of development work when you’re ready.
jeon Jungkook
I—I thought I’d be in the creative department?
kim Taehyung
I changed it.
He said it so simply. Like my future was his to rearrange.
I stared down at the folder but didn’t open it. I wasn’t sure if I should be flattered… or afraid.
Taehyung leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. He studied me like I was something rare.
kim Taehyung
I think we’ll get along well, Jungkook.
Something in his tone was soft—almost kind. But it carried an undertone. Something I couldn’t quite name.
But the way he looked at me…
It wasn’t professional.
It wasn’t friendly.
It wasn’t safe.
it said,
You’re already mine.
