The Stars That Led Me to You
CHAPTER - 04
The space between them felt delicate, like a thread of silk stretched taut. Jungkook didn't look away, though his heart beat faster a quiet, steady drum in his chest. Taehyung, too, stood still, the noise of the event falling away until all he could hear was the soft hum of the city beyond the glass walls.
For a moment, neither moved. It wasn't shyness that held them, nor fear - only the weight of something meant. As if the universe itself was letting them savor this first, true meeting
Then, softly, Jungkook stepped forward. Not rushed, not bold - just enough to close the space between. His voice, when it came, was low and warm, like rain against a window.
Jeon jk
"I've seen you before,"
He said, though he wasn't sure if it was a memory or a dream.
Taehyung's lips curved, just slightly the kind of smile that made the night feel gentler.
He said, eyes steady on Jungkook's.
Kim tae
"Or maybe we were meant to meet here."
Kim tae
There were people all around them - voices, laughter, the clink of glasses. But to Jungkook, it felt as if they stood alone in that glowing space, where fabric and ink and starlight came together.
He offered quietly, as if sharing something precious.
Came the reply, soft as a promise.
Jeon jk
"Would you like to step out for a moment?"
Jungkook asked, his gaze flicking toward the quiet balcony beyond the glass.
And without a word, Taehyung nodded as if this had always been the next step in the story the stars had written.
The city stretched wide beneath them as they stepped onto the balcony. The glass doors muffled the sounds of the event, leaving only the hush of the night and the soft sigh of the breeze.
Jungkook rested his hands lightly on the balcony rail, taking in the view, but his eyes kept drifting back to Taehyung - drawn as if by gravity.
For a moment, they stood in comfortable silence, listening to the city's heartbeat.
Kim tae
"It's beautiful from up here,"
Taehyung said at last, his voice quiet, as if he didn't want to disturb the night.
Jungkook agreed, though his gaze was more on Taehyung now than the city.
Jeon jk
"But I think it's the kind of beauty that feels.....distant. Untouchable."
Taehyung glanced at him, thoughtful.
Kim tae
"Maybe it just takes the right person to make it feel close."
Jungkook felt something in his chest ease at those words like the ache that had been with him for so long was finally understood.
Jeon jk
"Do you come to these events often?"
Jungkook asked, more to hear Taehyung's voice again than out of curiosity.
Taehyung shook his head gently, his dark hair moving with the breeze.
Kim tae
"No. I like staying behind the scenes. But tonight felt... different. Like I was supposed to be here."
Their eyes met again, soft and searching.
Jeon jk
"I felt that too,"
Jungkook admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jeon jk
"Like I've been waiting for something. Or someone."
Taehyung's heart beat a little faster, but there was no rush in him only the quiet certainty that this moment mattered.
Kim tae
"I'm glad you stepped out here,"
Jungkook's lips curved into the smallest, most genuine smile he'd worn in a long time.
They stood there a while longer - not needing many words, content in the soft, new warmth between them. The city lights flickered like stars below, and above them, the real stars kept watch, quiet and patient, as the story they'd written finally began.
