The Night tasted like metal

It clung to his tongue... Bitter and cold, as he stood there

High above the city, where the wind felt stronger, crueler, as if it wanted to help him fall.

He wasn't afraid of height.

He wasn't afraid of anything, not anymore.

A sigh left his lips, white in the freezing air. His fingers trembled slightly as he climbed on the railing.

The rain wouldn't stop. The world wouldn't stop.

And he was so tired of trying to keep up with it.

He closed his eyes.

Letting the droplets drench him, Letting himself feel the cold breeze on his skin for the last time

Maybe this was the only way to finally be free... to finally attain peace...

A voice in his head whispered: "What's the point of staying"

He had no answer

He stepped closer to the edge...

He took a deep breath

And

Don't.

Then came a voice... Soft. Gentle. Commanding

*He froze*

His eyes flew open

His breath hitched. He was stuck somewhere between shock and confusion.

There — in the downpour, in the dark — someone stood beside him.

Taehyung's eyes trailed the man's... no, the being's body.

Taehyung couldn't recognize the figure

Who— *his voice broke"

His throat was too raw, too dry.

The figure smiled, just barely.

Jungkook

I'm here because you are meant to live *smiles gently*

And for the first time in what felt like forever, the boy hesitated.
