Let's start with the story 😌😌
.
.
.
.
Bliss didn’t fall for Grace all at once.
It was slow. Subtle. A pull, not a plunge.
She noticed first in the way Grace drank her coffee—bitter, almost punishing, like she didn’t think she deserved sweet things.
Then in the way Grace looked at people—like she was always waiting for them to leave.
And then… in the way Grace didn’t flinch when Bliss was quiet.
No one had ever let Bliss just exist like that.
Loud or silent. Soft or moody. Grace never asked her to shrink.
.
.
They called each other best friends now.
Well—Bliss did.
Grace never corrected her.
And maybe that was why Bliss didn’t say anything more.
Because what if this was it? What if being her “best friend” was all Grace would ever offer? What if she confessed and broke something precious?

I’d rather stay in her orbit forever.
Bliss whispered to herself one night, curled up in her dorm bed

Than crash into her heart and lose everything.
.
.
But God… she wanted to crash.
The way Grace stared at her when she thought Bliss wasn’t looking.
The way her fingers always hesitated just before touching Bliss’s wrist, but never quite pulled away.
Bliss noticed.
She noticed it all.
And still—she said nothing.
.
.
The night before she got the London call, Bliss had a dream.
She and Grace were sitting on the café rooftop under string lights. It was raining. Grace was crying.
But she let Bliss hold her.
Bliss whispered.
Bliss D
Bliss D'Souza/clg student
I love you.
Into her hair, and Grace didn’t run.
When Bliss woke up, her pillow was wet.
And her chest ached like something had been stolen from her.
.
.
She got the acceptance letter the next day.
Three years. Full ride. Her dream.
She should’ve screamed with joy.
Instead, she stared at her phone, thumb hovering over Grace’s contact.
Bliss D
Bliss D'Souza/clg student
What if she doesn’t want me to leave? What if she does?
She didn’t call.
She didn’t text.
.
.
She just kept pretending.
Pretending nothing had changed. Pretending her heart wasn’t slowly bending toward Grace every time she smiled. Pretending she didn’t feel sick every time Grace looked at her like she meant the world.
Because she did.
And Bliss was a coward.
.
.
That night, she opened her notes app and wrote:
Bliss D
Bliss D'Souza/clg student
If I told her—really told her—would she still call me her best friend?
Bliss D
Bliss D'Souza/clg student
Or would she walk away?
Bliss D
Bliss D'Souza/clg student
I’d rather stay as someone she trusts… than risk becoming someone she forgets.
She didn’t send the message.
She just let it sit there.
Unsent. Like everything else she felt.
.
.
Bliss D'Souza didn’t leave because she didn’t care.
She left because she cared too much—
And was too afraid Grace never would.
