Monday morning
Lily sat on the couch of the school guidance counselors office. She was talking to the counselor like she was every Monday morning.
Mrs. Sally
Look a bit more tired today, something happen?
Lily
Just a bit of a long night.
Mrs. Sally
Sounds like you need a pick-me-up, coffee?
Mrs. Sally stood up and headed for the counter of her office, to make them a cup of warm coffee.
Mrs. Sally finished their coffee and handed Lily her mug.
Mrs. Sally
How's Vee doing, btw?
Lily just remembered something important.
Lily
Hey, can you hold my bag for a sec?
Vee went into the bathroom and Lily waited outside.
Someone bumped into lily and all of Vee's belongings that were in her bag were on the floor.
Lily bent down and picked all of her friend's stuff and saw a pack of cigarettes among them.
she froze before picking it up and quickly placing it into her bag.
just then Vee stepped out.
Lily
Thanks, so where were we?
She said as she took her bag from Lily.
Lily snapped back to reality and stuttered.
Lily
Uh-- yeah, she's okay.
Mrs. Sally
Alright, that's good.
Mrs. Sally
Well, that's the first bell.
Mrs. Sally
I think you should hurry along and find Vee before you both are marked late.
Lily
Um, okay, thanks again for listening Mrs. Sally.
Mrs. Sally smiled as she waved her goodbye.
Lily went to the entrance of her school and saw Vee sitting on the brick wall, despite the rule against it, as usual.
Lily
You went to see Mrs. Sally again?
Lily
Ahahaha, You know me well.
Vee glanced at Lily's arms and she hid them behind her.
Lily
You know what I mean.
Vee hopped down from the wall and approached Lily.
Lily kept her hands behind her back despite Vee's persistence.
Vee grabbed her arm and flipped it to see her wrist.
Her friend froze at what she saw.
Lily
you said you'd stop...
Lily looked down and saw her doing.
5 or 6 bloody cuts around her wrist.
She met Vee's teary eyes and took her arm back before covering it all up with her sleeve.
Lily
Y-you said you'd stop.
Vee clenched her hand into a fist and wanted to just fall a thousand feet.
Lily
Go inside, I'll meet you there.
something she had the habbit for, pretending to be happy?
Vee walked past her friend, and headed towards the opposite direction of their school and into a back alley.
But Vee was too far for her to hear it.
Vee's tears spilled onto the muddy and dirty floor of the back alley and she dropped to her knees.
Grey
You know, you shouldn't be here.
Vee turned to see Grey standing behind her.
She rubbed her eyes and stood back up.
Lily
what the hell are you doing here?
Grey
saw you from a far, followed you and here we are now.
Lily
Tch! like I'd believe that.
Vee took a cigar out of her pocket and held her hand out to Grey.
Grey
Ugh, after all this time you still can't buy yourself a lighter.
He dug inside his pocket and took a small lighter out.
Vee lit her cigarette and let herself get lost in the smoke.
Lily
So, why are you really here?
Grey
Never could get anything past you could I?
Lily
Tch! You can't even steal a coin from me how much more a reason.
Grey moved beside her and gave her a nudge on the shoulder.
Grey
Saw you crying earlier.
Vee crushed the cigar under her shoe and turned around.
Lily
Nothing's wrong. You gonna go to school or what?
Vee laughed and waved him over.
Grey smirked before laughing a bit.
She smacked him in the back.
