Her father asked her getting furious.
Akshita
I... I want to... I don't know. I just don't want to get married.
Mrs. Narayan
Akki, this guy is a perfect match for you. He is a neurosurgeon in Mumbai. He's well settled, and their demands are also not very high. We cannot afford to lose such a good boy because of your stupid reason for not getting married.
Mrs. Narayan
It's not even like you love someone else or anything. Don't be so ridiculous. We won't get another guy who's this good for you if we turn them down.
Akshita
I said I don't care. Just why did you come to me to know my willingness if you have liked the guy so much?
Mrs. Narayan
We just want to know if he misbehaved or something or if you have any complaints regarding his manner with you when you two went upstairs to talk alone?
Akshita
No, he's a nice guy. I don't mind him.
Mrs. Narayan

Her father patted her head and her mother hugged her tightly.

She yelled to herself mentally after her parents left her room.
The next day Rehan's dad called and confirmed Akshita and Rehan's match from Rehan's family side. Rehan's family were coming in the evening to decide the engagement and the wedding date.
In the evening she was once again decorated like a doll to be presented in front of her perspective in laws.
Akshita
(Never mind it happens…)
She was mumbling to herself while she was told to bring in the snacks from the kitchen. After serving her mother-in-law-to-be made her sit beside her and asked her how she was doing.
After ten to fifteen minutes her mother told her to give Rehan a tour of the house. Basically both of the families wanted some off time from the kids to discuss some 'issues' about marriage.
Akshita
Why did you agree to marry me?
Akshita asked Rehan as soon as once they were both alone.
Rehan
I see you're getting along well with me. So, now that you're comfortable with me let's get married.
Akshita
Okay, who told you that I am comfortable with you?
Rehan
Just look at the way you address me. No girl dares do that. At least the ones I met for this "shaadi" business.
He said keeping his hands in his pockets and looking away from her.
Akshita
Seriously, why did you say 'yes'?
She asked trying to make him act serious.
Rehan
It's because I found you fascinating. Plus my mom really liked you. You said you are willing to let me fool even after we get married. So, I thought it would be a good idea to say 'yes'.
He said looking in her eyes.
