Blitz Protocol: Race Against Time.

The device hummed as it was placed into a slot on the machine. Once connecting, it lit up, sending a pulse through the device. It looked like a sort of satellite. "Perfect, soon my Satellite of Doom will be completed, and we'll take over not just Europe but the entire world." Doctor Blitzkrieg said, stepping away from the mechanical claw he used to assemble the contraction with.

"How do you know this device will even work Doctor?" Mercy asked, stepping up to it.

"Blitz had me work on some of their captured tech back in the day. I began to understand it and I learned how to manipulate it." he snarled, turning to face her.

"And let me guess, you experimented with it which led to you losing your arm and your disfigured face?" Mercy said dryly.

"You dare disrespect me woman! Nothing is stopping me from cutting our deal." he snarled, his mechanical eye flashing. The right side of his face looked burnt, and his right arm had been replaced by a mechanical one.

"Alright relax. In other news, the radar has picked up something new. Energy readings unlike anything seen before."

"Good. And I trust this won't be a problem for you."

Mercy smirked. "Not at all Doctor. Not at all."

Blitz headquarters (just outside Berlin)

The team all sat in the loading bay. Erika was fixing something on Nachtvogel, Emma and Hans were sparring, Andreus cleaning his rifle and Wess and Dutch were checking the scanners.

"What doesn't make sense to me is why Mercy would want that tech? She claimed to understand it, but nobody understands it, right?" Wess said.

"Heinz Krieger is probably the only one who does. He worked with M.U.L.F-1 (Mechanical Unidentified Life Form-1) and everything else Blitz has in the Vault. Took a bunch of it with him after his accident. That's when he started this whole 'Doctor Blitzkrieg' nonsense." Andreus added.

"You think Wess's girlfriend is working with Krieger?" Emma said, blocking one of Hans punches before leg sweeping him. He grabbed her arms as he fell, pulling her down as well.

"For the tenth time today, Mercy is not my girlfriend." Wess added.

"Sure, keep telling yourself that. I remember that time I saw you two together back when you joined the army." Erika added, not looking away from her work.

"Erika, that was one time."

"Hate to break up the conversation, but we just got something." Dutch said. "Storage site and a massive one. Some sort of electronic pulse coming from beneath."

All but Hans and Emma, who had now broken into an intense grappling match, gathered around the scanner. "Alright let's move. If we're picking it up, Krieger probably is too. Get your gear and be ready to move out. That includes you two love birds." Andreus said looking towards Hans and Emma.

"Excuse me? Love birds!" They said at the same time.

In no time at all the team was geared up and ready to go. Nachtvogel's engine's roared to life, and it taxied out of the hanger. "Buckle up every one. Let's go!" Erika called over the radio as the engines turned vertical and lifted the craft off the ground at a high speed; pushing everyone down in their seats. Then the engines turned horizontal and blasted the craft forward full throttle. As the craft flew, the engines quietened down, last thing they wanted was to be spotted as some "UFO". Its armour blended into the night sky, becoming practically invisible. Soon the storage facility came into view and the Nachtvogel touched down outside the facility. The team exited the craft.

"I see no sign of your ex yet Wess." Emma said.

"For the last time... Forget it." he grumbled. They made their way up to the facility and cut the fence, allowing them to enter. Erika started up a device attached to her sleeve. The screen lit up and after a moment she gasped. "That cannot be right." she said.

"What is it?" Andreus asked.

"According to the scanner, the facility is teeming with life forms... And I mean big life forms." She said. She looked down again. "Worse news, two are heading this way."

The sound of metal feet echoed towards them as two damaged Automatons rounded a set of storage lockers. They scanned the team before letting out a mechanical growl and heading straight for them.

"Guns up, stay sharp, strike fast." Andreus said as they prepared their weapons.

Next time: Blitz faces off rogue Automatons whilst trying to reach whatever brought them online; before Mercy can get it.
