Character in Novel
Kim Sung-min
“Enough about him. Let’s go.”
Min Joon-oh
“Let’s go, let’s go.”
Outside the court, Taehyung suddenly jolted, snapping out of his daze.
When the game ended, he’d intended to go bring water.
But as he was about to stand up, something clicked, and he became acutely self-aware, realizing that his world was actually a stereotypical BL romance novel.
And he was the ex-boyfriend of the main Top Kim Sung-min—a lovesick fool who, when Shen broke up with him, refused to let go and, ultimately, jumped off a building in despair at a single word from him.
As a complete side character, he was there to highlight Kim Sung-min’s charm while adding depth to his “tragically misunderstood” character, paving the way for the protagonist Bottom, Lee Jin-so, to heal him.
After all, he only lost a life, but Kim Sung-min supposedly bore the trauma of watching him fall.
Kim Taehyung
(You’ve got to be kidding me.)
Taehyung pinched his thigh hard, hoping it was just some absurd dream, that everything would be normal when he woke up. But reality told him otherwise.
His mind, once foggy, had suddenly cleared. Taking a few deep breaths, he slowly raised his head.
But everything was different now.
He realized he wasn’t just himself—he was a lovesick cannon fodder whose entire existence, from beginning to end, had been scripted.
Kim Taehyung
(For example, My previous pursuit of Sung-min hadn’t been my choice at all.)
Kim Taehyung
Honestly, i am wasn’t a masochist; why would i like someone who constantly manipulated me and treated me coldly?
Thinking about what that person said to him when they broke up—things like,
Sung-min: “Have a bit of self-awareness, would I like you? I was just looking for some fun,”
and,
Sung-min: “Did you really think you were my boyfriend? Ha—quite the nerve you’ve got”
—Taehyung felt his fists clench.
Kim Taehyung
(If you don’t like me, don’t say yes. Giving me hope only to turn around and stab me in the back—who does that?)
To h*ll with the story, with the plot—this was his life. Now that he was free from the author’s chains, he would follow his own heart and live how he wanted.
Kim Taehyung
(Forget being the main Top’s tragic ex; I am done with this “infatuated cannon fodder” nonsense)
Who cared if the plot shattered? He’d been about to jump off a building—why would he care about any of that now?
Min Joon-oh
Whoa, Here he comes, with his water and his devotion!
The crowd’s gaze quickly fixed on Taehyung.
(Taehyung stopped in front of Sung-min and looked up.)
Having just read the entire story, he hadn’t quite shaken off his emotions. Seeing Kim Sung-min now, he felt an urge to punch him.
To keep his anger in check, he clenched his fists and took a deep breath before saying,
In Kim Sung-min’s eyes, Taehyung appeared shy and flustered, unsure of where to put his hands and feet.
