Jungkook
Jungkook’s lips curled into a faint, humorless smile. “You signed the papers. Both of you. Last night. Your aunt was very insistent.”
Taehyung
Taehyung’s mind raced. He remembered the drinks, the laughter, the strange insistence that they “just sign a little form for the family archives.” He remembered Jimin’s aunt, smiling too widely, refilling their glasses again and again.
Taehyung
“I thought it was a guestbook!” Taehyung wailed.
Jungguk
Jungguk rolled his eyes. “You’re not the first to be tricked into a marriage contract. Don’t worry, we’re not interested in playing happy family. Just stay out of our way, don’t embarrass us in public, and we’ll all get through this.”
Jimin
Jimin stared at his bracelet, then at Taehyung. “Are you my husband, too?”
Taehyung’s bracelet pulsed. A holographic display flickered to life, showing four names connected in a glowing web: Jungkook, Jungguk, Jimin, Taehyung.
“System Notification: Poly-marriage contract complete. Spousal links: mutual,” the robotic voice intoned.
Taehyung
Taehyung’s jaw dropped. “We’re all… married to each other?”
Jungkook
Jungkook nodded, his expression unreadable. “That’s how the Jeon family does things. Efficiency.”
Jimin
Jimin’s eyes widened. “But… but… I don’t even know you! There were rumors-”
Jungguk
“Rumors we started,” Jungguk interrupted, his tone dry. “It keeps the gold-diggers away.”
Taehyung
Taehyung felt a hysterical giggle bubbling up. “So you’re not old, fat, or disfigured?”
Jungkook
Jungkook arched an eyebrow. “Do I look old, fat, or disfigured?”
Jimin
Jimin blinked. “No, you look like you could break a wall with your jawline.”
Taehyung
Taehyung snorted. “And you-” he pointed at Jungguk, “look like you could freeze lava with a stare.”
Jungguk
Jungguk smirked. “Flattery won’t get you out of this.”
