Jungkook was quietly working in his study the only sound in the room being the soft clicking of his laptop keys. His brows were furrowed, eyes focused—but his mind kept drifting back to the boy sleeping in his bed.
Then suddenly a soft trembling voice broke the silence.

T..ae..tae... scared...
Jungkook's fingers paused mid-type.....He looked up.
There standing at the edge of the bed was the small boy Taehyung. His eyes were wide, filled with confusion, tears and fear. He was looking around the unfamiliar room hugging his small frame like he was lost in a strange world.
Jungkook stood up slowly not wanting to scare him more.
But the moment Taehyung saw him moving he flinched and took a step back ready to run.

**voice shaking** No… no… Tae... Tae don’t… please… please… Taetae is scared…
His big eyes welled up with tears. His lips wobbled..Jungkook sighed heart clenching at the sight.

💭 Let’s do this… for this pretty little one.
He gently reached out and pulled the trembling boy into a soft hug rubbing his small back in slow circles.

**whispering** You’re strong my little champ. So brave… You’re safe now. No one will hurt you, okay~?
Taehyung whimpered against his chest.
ᴛᴀᴇᴛᴀᴇ
**mumbling** Taetae scared…
But slowly his sobs softened.The warmth of Jungkook’s hug was something he had never felt before. It was safe… soft… kind.
His little hands clutched Jungkook’s shirt, and after a few more seconds he snuggled into the older's chest.

Taetae… not scared... anymore..
Jungkook smiled softly and pulled back just a little cupping Taehyung’s tear-stained cheeks.

That’s my brave baby.
Taehyung’s lips curled into a small smile his eyes still shining with glittery tears. Jungkook gently wiped them away his heart melting at how cute the boy looked.
Suddenly Taehyung poked Jungkook’s cheeks.

Jungkook blinked then chuckled.

Seeing Taetae's sad pout Jungkook gave in and nodded.

Taehyung’s eyes lit up.He clapped his hands excitedly.

Kookoo! Yesh...Taetae smart!
Jungkook chuckled and patted Taehyung’s head.

Taehyung tilted his head under the soft pat.

Jungkook laughed again his eyes sparkling.

At that question, Taehyung’s eyes welled up again.
He rubbed his tummy with a small pout.

But Taehyung paused staring at him in surprise.

Jungkook burst into soft laughter.

We’re friends now, right~??
Taehyung giggled and lifted his pinky finger offering it shyly.

Yeshhhh~ Taetae friend…!
They linked pinkies.And in that moment something warm bloomed quietly between them.
