The first person I encountered in the house was the head maid, Marie. Marie was a Beta woman in her late forties.
She had a warm smile plastered on her face, fine smile lines that hinted at her outgoing personality, as she ushered us in.
"And this is?" She asked, throwing a curious glance at me.
I subconsciously hid away behind Brian, clearly shy.
"The boss's guest," Brian replied simply and dragged me forward.
"Is he the owner of the newly constructed room?" The head maid asked to which Brian nodded in confirmation.
"Alright!" The woman's alertness reduced significantly and she flashed a warm smile at me.
"Come! Come eat." She offered, her arm wrapped around my shoulder, with care, dragging me towards the dinning table.
I trudged along, my cheeks flushed from nervousness.
Her embrace was so warm and I practically melted, slumping against her surprisingly sturdy frame.
"Let him take a shower first," Brian ordered and I was immediately sent to my room.
I twisted the metal door knob and the wooden door swung open, revealing a rather intriguing interior.
The walls of the room were a sublime blend of purple and black, with fluorescent lights strewn across them, amplifying the ambiance.
I walked up to the bed which was literally half my height and covered in a velvet red duvet like a couple's wedding night's bed.
I explored the commodious room, down to the chill tiles that covered the floor, my eyes twinkling with amusement at what others saw as ordinary.
It was anything but normal. Overhead showers, a freakishly large bathtub that seemed like it would swallow me whole and an automatically flushing toilet - all seemed greatly surprising.
I fumbled with the handles of shower, in futile attempts to navigate the complex controls.
Just when I thought I'd gotten a hang of it, I twisted a handle which quickly had sprinkles of warm water descending on me.
"Wow," I muttered, my tone a mixture of disappointment and surprise.
It was until I was completely drenched that I managed to turn it off.
Twenty minutes later, I emerged victorious from the epic battle with the electronic shower head, thankfully clean.
I quickly changed into the clothes that were laid on the side of bed, a pair of black shorts and and a white t-shirt, and was soon descending down the stairs.
"What? Was there a long line to the bathroom?" Armin joked as I approached the dining table and a brief round of laughter filled the air.
"N..no, I h..had a hard time with the shower."
I let out a cursive sigh, hoping I'd stop stuttering anytime soon.
Brian was nowhere to be found and neither was Marie. I was left to dine with Armin, Miguel and Adhiraj.
Though Miguel and Adhiraj seemed uninterested in me, Armin was a different case. He was keen to getting under my skin.
Like a five-year old, he kept asking silly questions and throwing out random facts..... mostly derogatory ones, in futile attempts to make me uncomfortable.
"I heard Omega men take it from behind. That's nasty," he said one time while I was devouring a chicken piece.
While the words were enough to make me lose my appetite, that was something I definitely was not allowing to happen.
Having only had bland meals for over a decade, I was not going to let some overgrown kid take away my maybe-last chance at enjoying a richly seasoned meal.
I chomped and moaned, my cheeks swollen, leaving the man 'soliloquizing'.
The short hand of the clock in the center of room struck nine and I was sent to my room to sleep.
I crashed onto the soft queen sized bed, my frame bouncing. My mind wandered off to Kyle and I prayed for his safety.
Whether he was chosen or not, I never had the chance to find out.
No matter how hard I tried, I could not help but wonder if this was how Omegas who were bought were treated.
Compared to my life at the vivarium, this was.....alright.
Not long after, I drifted off to sleep, snoring slightly. A cold breeze blew in through the open windows, its low whistling filling the air in the room.
Sometime around 3AM, I suddenly jolted awake, the reason being a not so pleasant dream about my mother.
The image of her devasted expression flashed in my head, leaving a headache.
I slid off the bed and exited the room, my footsteps soft as I descended the stairs to the living room and made my way to the kitchen for a glass of water.
Though my heart raced as I walked, the pain in my head was enough to outweigh the fear I was feeling.
And there he was, unclothed and resting on the counter with one arm, his muscles flexing as he did, gulping down a glass of whatever, his Adam's apple rising and falling seductively.
The world stopped rotating for a minute, as if letting this moment last for as long as it could.
My vision narrowed and in the center was him, a literal Greek God, his toned muscles glistening softly in the moonlight filtering in through the windows.
All sounds were dominated by the frantic thumping of my heart and the melodious gulping sound he was making.
Just then "Are you out of your mind?", he said, in the most contempt-filled tone I'd ever heard, though his voice was deep and erotic.
It didn't take long for me to snap out of my trance and get ready for a vicious round of apologies.
"Uh I'm so sorry...I came for a g..glass of water," I stuttered, my face flushed, not only from nervousness but also from how handsome he looked despite frowning.
"Get your water and leave immediately," he roared, his tone brooking no room for replies.
I quickly did as told, my eyes frequently darting to him, taking in the sublime view of the man as he sat cross-legged on a sofa.
His glasses rested gracefully on the high tip of his nose, their frames glinting in the light coming from the laptop he was working on.
"I'm done. G...good night, sir."
I did not know how I managed to reach my room with my trembling legs, but I did.
I sat on the side of my bed, my breaths heavy and my heart racing.
By any chance, was that the Alpha whose child I would be carrying?
