Ep 5
BACK TO PRESENT – GROUP CALL ENDING
Yug Singh (fl bff ,ml bff)
“Guys, it’s like 1 AM. Should we call it a night or start a therapy circle?”
The group call was a blend of laughter, teasing, and sudden moments of truth. Akshu sat quietly, her eyes half-lidded but ears sharp, absorbing every voice, every pause. Even though she had met Ekaksh just today, there was a strange calmness in how they had talked — too much, too soon, too freely.
Before the call could end, curiosity broke through her composed exterior.
Without thinking, without even knowing him properly, she asked Yug in that low, respectful tone that somehow always demanded answers:
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Bhai… who is he?”
Yug Singh (fl bff ,ml bff)
chuckled lightly. “He’s my friend. My childhood buddy.”
Akshu didn’t react. But Aarunika chimed in quickly, the dots clicking again, still fresh in her memory.
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
“Bro… he’s the same. Remember the classroom conversation? The dots?”
Ekaksh, who had been listening silently, unmuted himself. His voice came through, dry but curious:
Ekaksh Rajput (Ml)
“Annoying senior?”
Aarunika Thakur (fl bff, ml bff)
Aarunika laughed. “Your info brother. That’s you, bro.”
Yug Singh (fl bff ,ml bff)
Yug, amused, added, “Ahh — perfect shot.”
And in the middle of this tiny storm, Akshu simply sighed.
Soft. Controlled. Barely a breath.
Akshu Sharma (Fl)
“Umm hmm.”
That was it.
Just two syllables — yet Ekaksh froze. Something in him jolted, like static against skin. He had no idea why, but that "umm hmm" in her voice... it didn’t sound like agreement — it sounded like gravity. Like a whisper laced with a storm.
And he wanted to hear it again.
But the moment slipped.
The call shifted back to the lovebirds being their dramatic selves. Aarunika giggled and dropped a line. Yug followed with one of his cheesy replies.

Then, quietly — almost instinctively — Akshu and Ekaksh said together:
“Bye.”
Two voices. One word. Same time.
Accidental? Probably. But to Ekaksh, it echoed like fate had spoken.
