Rooms With Memories

The hallway stretched longer than it should have. Velvet walls. Shadows that moved like they were breathing.
Their names were already etched on each door. None of them remembered telling anyone they were coming. But their rooms— knew them.
Kai’s Room ------------------- Minimal. Cold. But every book on the shelf was one he remembered reading… in dreams. A mirror in the corner reflected someone else’s expression. Not his. He didn’t flinch. He just closed the door and whispered, “I’m not scared of you.”
Leona’s Room: ---------------------- Marble floors. Black roses in a crystal vase. The wardrobe opened to clothes she’d worn in another life—dresses from centuries past. One letter lay on her pillow. “Your power was never gone. Just sleeping.” She didn’t smile. She sat on the edge of the bed and waited. Like a queen waiting for her war to begin.
Eris’s Room: ------------------- Chaotic. Cozy. Cluttered. Candles already lit themselves. The walls were covered in burned love notes—written in his own handwriting, but he didn’t remember ever writing them. “You still want her, don’t you?” He chuckled, tracing the letters with a lazy smirk. “Oh, I want to ruin her.”
Iris’s Room: ------------------ Soft lights. Old records. A vanity with a single note taped to the mirror: “Let them think you’re insane. It’s safer that way.” She winked at her reflection and blew herself a kiss. But behind her, the closet creaked open.
Evan’s Room: -----‐-------------- Normal. Too normal. A beanbag. A guitar. Some snacks. Except… the photos on the wall were from places he’d never been. And one of them showed him, smiling. With Lina. In 1887.
Lina’s Room: ------------------- Soft curtains. Lavender scent. The feeling of… déjà vu. She touched the pillow—and whispered, “I’ve slept here before.” A music box started playing by itself. The song? The lullaby she used to hum in her past life—before she died here.
Downstairs, the dining hall lit up on its own.
A long table, set for six. No food. Just candles, and a note in the center:
“The house feeds on love. And it’s starving.”
