Has He Always Been Like This?
Episode 10
They're now growing frustrated with their unsuccessful attempts
Same bushy spot. The can still stands. Joshua’s last throw totally missed. He stares at it like it personally offended him. Lants is casually chewing something (maybe a weird leaf he swears is safe).
Joshua
Sighs and flops down dramatically “I hate rocks
Lants
Grinning “You need a new mission.”
Joshua
Muttering “Like what, failing at something else?”
Lants
“Nah. Like... building a thing. Like a real thing. Like... a camp. Like a hideout! Right here.”
Lants
It's OK. Don't worry
Joshua
Still frowning “A camp?”
Lants
“Right? And we make signs. And rules. And one secret password.”
The same bushy spot. Lants is now fully invested, dragging branches and sticks like he’s building a fortress. Joshua is a little more skeptical but starts grabbing random stuff like an old plastic bag and a big rock. They’re in full camp-making mode.
Lants
Stacking sticks “We need a front wall, okay? No one can see inside.”
Joshua
“We just need like... a door too, right?”
Lants
Grabbing a branch “Yes. The door’s gotta be a secret. Only people who pass The Test can get in. Like, throw a rock and hit something. Or do something cool.”
Joshua
Eyes widen “A FLAG. YES. That’s it. We make a flag out of stuff. And it’s the official symbol of Camp Boomhide. It’ll fly above us
Joshua thinks for a second and then points at the big rock they’ve been missing with all day. They take an old shirt, some leaves, and tie it up to a stick. The rock flag’s designed.
*A rock with a boom cloud around it.*
Lants
“This is gonna be the best camp ever. Look at our wall. Look at our flag. Look at our... um... secret door.” (gestures to a pile of random branches stacked poorly)
Joshua
Grinning now “Yeah, we’re totally ready for anyone who wants to pass The Test.”
