Rebirth…

I slowly became consciousness, my body feeling as if I was tightly wrapped in something but not in a suffocating way.

I heard a quiet murmur of voices, not to loud just above a whisper taking about something, so I listened in…

“Elena, it’s for gods sake a DEMON’S child we should kill it!”

“No Father, No… I don’t care if she’s of demonic blood she is still my daughter demon or not.”

“But it’s eyes…”

“FATHER, it’s only the eyes she does not look like a demon at all!”

“But it…”

“Father, she is NOT an IT she is from now on and till I perish Angelica my daughter!!!”

“Hhhhh… Okay, I won’t kill her but I won’t except her as part of our family either…”

After he saying such words I heard as the man stood up and left while the woman who was apparently my mother kept sitting, most likely contemplating something.

I mentally sighed at started thinking about my current situation.

So, I am now a half demon, and my mother loves me while the rest of her family hates me. My father is unknown and most likely very irresponsible, I thought as I drifted off to sleep. The last thing I thought of was that the god who sent me here was a total mor*n then I fell into a deep slumber.

When I finally woke up I felt as if the swaddling clothes I was in had become much tighter. The once almost loose clothes had now become a so tight that I could hardly breathe…

I scrunched up my face and screamed as hard as I could so I could get my mothers attention. Inwardly I thought about how absurd this situation was, me a grown, mature, and independent woman being reborn as a kid! Plus I did not need parents, since parents only lead to heartbreak…

[ Angelica, flashback to age 5… ]

The rain poured down on me soaking my clothes and bruised body, I wanted to move, I really wanted but I did not have the energy or will.

My mothers harsh words and actions replayed in my head just like a broken record…

Every single insult, every single bruise and scar deeply etched into every single Fu*king cell of my body. Slowly, corroding me from inside, making me lose hope for affection and at the same time the belief in humanity and my will to live.

Until I couldn’t take it any more so I ran, I ran far away from the place of my misery. At the same time bottling up the despair and sealing it away, it is like a ticking time bomb inside me, hidden but not gone…

I shake my head trying to get rid of the gloomy thoughts…

Hearing my crying, my new mother stands up from her bed and moves towards me. As soon as she sees me her face contorts into an expression of shock the disbelief…

“How could have you grown so much over night! You are now twice yesterdays size?…

She exclaims then quickly frees me from my constricting swaddling clothes…

I breathy a sigh of relief from not being strangled anymore.

My mother looks at me with a curious expressions then mutters under her breath:

“Why is my little Angelica growing so fast, is is because of the demoic blood that runs through her veins?”

“No, I don’t care why this is happening Angelica is Angelica, my dear daughter.”

Then she smiled down at me with such a expression full of so much love that I almost burst into tears, do to the emotions that were once missing, now rushing back into me making me feel alive and like a human being once again.

My mother covered me with a blanket, kissed me on my forehead then went somewhere while I dosed off. Before falling asleep I wondered why I had to sleep so much before falling into a haze…

I felt as if I was floating in a white space with an endless expanse of nothingness around me…

Suddenly I heard…
