Woke Up Scene
The morning light seeped through the sheer curtains, casting a golden hue over the suite. Jang Sun Ji stirred, her lashes fluttering as she adjusted to the warmth beside her.
Cha Eunwoo was still asleep.
She turned slightly, resting her head on one hand while the other hesitantly reached out. Her fingers brushed against his cheek; warm, smooth, real. A quiet sigh left her lips as her thumb traced the curve of his lower lip.
Her mind drifted back to last night. Or rather, to that ridiculous moment yesterday; when he was eating a hamburger.
He had held it close to his shoulder, his grip relaxed, but his thumb had slid across his lips absentmindedly, stopping at the corner of his mouth. His eyes had held something unreadable, his expression a mix of surprise and disbelief as if he still couldn’t believe she had shown up.
Now, here she was. Lying beside him. Married to him.
Sun Ji bit her lip, her thumb still ghosting over his lips. She wanted to kiss him. Just a small one. Just to see;
Cha Eunwo
“You like staring at me in the morning?”
Narrator
Her breath hitched.
Narrator
Cha Eunwoo’s voice was husky with sleep, his eyes cracking open lazily, but the amusement in them was sharp. His gaze flickered from her hovering fingers to her slightly parted lips.
Narrator
Sun Ji jerked her hand away, clearing her throat.
Narrator
His smirk was slow, teasing.
Jang Sun ji
“You—ugh, go back to sleep.”
Narrator
Eunwoo chuckled, stretching his arms above his head before shifting closer, eyes still heavy with sleep.
Cha Eunwo
“Not a chance. Now I’m curious.”
The morning air was still, wrapped in the quiet warmth of tangled sheets and unspoken thoughts. Jang Sun Ji swallowed, willing her heartbeat to steady as she pulled her hand away. It was just a wake-up scene. Nothing more. Nothing to overthink.
She moved, shifting her weight to sit up, but before she could get far, a firm arm slid around her waist.
Narrator
Cha Eunwoo murmured, his voice still thick with sleep.
She froze. His grip was gentle but unyielding, his fingers resting lightly against her skin, as if anchoring her in place. She turned slightly, only to find him watching her with half-lidded eyes, his expression unreadable but undeniably soft.
Sun Ji let out a small breath, her hands pressing against the mattress.
Narrator
Eunwoo’s grip tightened just a fraction, his warmth seeping through the fabric of her nightshirt.
Narrator
It wasn’t a demand. It wasn’t even a plea. It was something in between, something that made her hesitate.
She met his gaze, searching, but his eyes only held quiet certainty.
Just for a moment, she let herself relax. Just for a little longer, she stayed.
