Fancy, dim and this night just lingering
Jang Sun Ji sank into the plush velvet sofa, her fingers tracing the golden embroidery on the cushion beside her. The suite was extravagant; too extravagant for what it was meant to be. A single night. A fleeting moment. A decision she might regret by morning. Crystal chandeliers cast a soft glow over the marble floors, and the scent of expensive cologne lingered in the air, blending with the faint aroma of champagne from the half-empty glass on the coffee table. Floor-to-ceiling windows revealed the dazzling cityscape, neon lights blinking like distant stars. She exhaled slowly, her heartbeat steady but her mind restless. This wasn’t her world—this realm of silk sheets, imported wine, and luxury that cost more than her monthly rent. But tonight, she was here. And so was he. The faint sound of running water came from the ensuite bathroom. A reminder. In a few moments, the door would open, and the man behind it; the one whose name she barely knew, yet whose touch still burned on her skin; would step out. She leaned back, crossing her legs as the golden band on her finger caught the light. It hadn’t been there when she walked into this suite. And yet, now it sat snugly, an unspoken promise neither of them had intended to make. Sun Ji closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. What the hell had she done?

The bathroom door swung open, and there he stood; Cha Eunwoo, fresh from the shower, a towel slung low on his hips, droplets of water trailing down his sculpted torso. His sharp eyes locked onto Sun Ji, unreadable yet piercing, like he could see straight through her.

His deep voice cut through the silence, smooth yet commanding. He strode toward her, every step measured, deliberate.

“Regret it in the morning if you want, but right now?”

He leaned down, caging her between the sofa and his towering frame, his scent; clean, masculine, intoxicating; filling her lungs. His fingers brushed her chin, tilting her gaze up to meet his.
