Lucian

Lucian

Kieran quickly turns and leaves

Hold on... did I ever tell him my name? I don’t recall saying it.

Late afternoon. Kieran’s room is quiet, save for the rustling of wrapping paper. Dozens of unopened boxes lie untouched in a corner. Kieran lounges by the window, sipping tea, eyes half-lidded in disinterest.

(quietly entering) More gifts arrived today, Master Kieran. Shall I leave them with the rest?

Kieran[MC]

(not interested)Mm.

Unknown person

(placing the boxes down carefully)They all carry the same seal again. No note.

Kieran[MC]

(Reading a novel) Haha, this is so interesting!

They must like you a great deal to send this much.

Kieran[MC]

Kieran[MC]

(sips tea) No. Let them waste their coin.

[Looks up] What is it?

Butler

An invitation has arrived. [Steps forward and places the envelope on the desk] It’s from the House of Valemont. A noble gathering this weekend.

Kieran[MC]

Do I need to attend it

Butler

Yes, sir.

Lavish ballroom? Nobles laugh, dance, and make polite small talk. Soft music floats in the air. Meanwhile, at the buffet table—Kieran stands alone, fully focused.

He picks up a golden-crusted pastry, bites into it slowly. His eyes close for a second

[Softly] ... it's really delicious

[Takes a seat near the table, completely ignoring the party]

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

[Giggles, hands behind her back like an innocent angel] I heard about a quiet grand tea room on the balcony. I thought we could go together. Just the two of us. Like siblings.

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

Oh, come on! We’re at a party. Lets at least pretend to be friendly.

A quiet, elegantly decorated tea table at the balcony area. Kieran sits stiffly, sipping tea. His stepsister chats animatedly, but something about her feels… off.

Kieran[MC]

[Flatly] You’re acting too nice. What’s the catch?

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

[Suddenly drops her smile and scowls] You always think you're better than me, don’t you?

Kieran[MC]

[Blank stare] There it is.

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

[Smirks darkly] You think just because Father likes you more, you can ignore me? Look at you—always calm, always praised.

Kieran[MC]

I literally just came for food.

Then, without warning, she grabs the teapot and pours the hot tea all over herself, gasping loudly.

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

[Screams] Aahh! Kieran! How could you?!

Before Kieran can even blink, she runs back into the ballroom, dramatically stumbling toward the Crown Prince.

Seraphina [MC Stepsister]

[Tearfully] Your Highness! My brother… he poured tea on me! On purpose! Please, you have to say something!

Back on the balcony, Kieran just sighs and bites into another tart
