"Bound by Fate, Lost In Shadows" (Taekook) Episode 2: The Morning After

The first thing Taehyung felt upon waking was warmth. The second was the dull ache in his arms. He blinked against the soft morning light filtering through the massive windows, the unfamiliar scent of leather and something distinctly Alpha lingering in the air.

Then, he remembered.

His eyes snapped open as he shot up from the plush couch, heart hammering.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(muttering) "What the hell…?"

He glanced around, taking in the sheer luxury of the place. The high ceilings, the pristine glass walls, the minimal yet elegant décor—everything screamed wealth and power.

And then, his gaze landed on the man standing by the kitchen counter, stirring his coffee with an air of quiet dominance.

Jeon Jungkook.

Unlike last night’s dark and brooding presence, he now stood dressed in an immaculately tailored suit, his sleeves rolled up just enough to reveal strong forearms. His sharp eyes flickered toward Taehyung, who was still sitting on the couch, hair messily tousled from sleep.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

(calmly) "You're awake."

Taehyung scowled.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(grumbling) "Did I die and wake up in an Alpha’s overpriced lair?"

Jungkook raised a brow but said nothing. Instead, he set his coffee down and walked toward him with measured steps.

The sheer presence of the man made Taehyung tense involuntarily.

Jungkook leaned down slightly, gaze unreadable.

"You should eat before you leave."

Taehyung blinked.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(confused) "You’re… feeding me?"

Jungkook straightened, tilting his head slightly as if assessing him.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

"You look like you need it."

Taehyung bristled immediately.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(huffing) "I’m perfectly fine, thanks."

Jungkook didn’t respond, but there was something in his gaze that lingered too long, as if he saw through Taehyung’s bravado.

Before Taehyung could fire back another retort, the front door opened, and a tall man with dark hair entered.

Kim Namjoon (Alpha)

(teasingly) "Well, well. What do we have here?"

Kim Namjoon – Jungkook’s childhood friend and Jeon Corporations’ legal advisor. Smart, calculating, and the only person who dared to tease the CEO without consequence.

Jungkook exhaled in mild exasperation.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

"You’re early."

Namjoon smirked as he took in the sight of Taehyung, still half-wrapped in a blanket on the couch.

Kim Namjoon (Alpha)

"Did I interrupt something?"

Taehyung, who had been silently watching the interaction, crossed his arms.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

"No. And who are you supposed to be?"

Kim Namjoon (Alpha)

"Kim Namjoon. Jungkook’s closest friend and the only one who can get away with annoying him."

Jungkook shot him a warning look, but Namjoon simply grinned before turning back to Taehyung.

Kim Namjoon (Alpha)

"And you are?"

Taehyung hesitated. He hadn’t exactly planned on making introductions, but something about Namjoon’s easygoing demeanor made it difficult to ignore him.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

"Kim Taehyung."

Namjoon’s smirk widened.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

"It’s not what you think."

Namjoon hummed, clearly unconvinced, but he let it go.

Taehyung took the opportunity to stretch before standing up, rolling his shoulders.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(casually) "Right. Well, I should probably go before I overstay my welcome."

Jungkook didn’t argue. Instead, he pulled out his phone and typed something. Moments later, a sleek black car pulled up in front of the building.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

"The driver will take you home."

Taehyung raised a brow.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

"Rich and controlling. You really know how to make an impression."

Jungkook ignored the jab and simply handed him a small card.

Jeon Jungkook (Enigma)

"If anyone bothers you again, call this number."

Taehyung stared at the card, then at Jungkook.

Kim Taehyung (Omega)

(muttering) "Why do I feel like this isn’t the last time I’ll see you?"

Jungkook didn’t answer, but his gaze remained locked on Taehyung as he finally stepped out of the penthouse.

The tiny apartment smelled like fresh coffee and lavender-scented candles. It wasn’t much—just a small space with a second-hand couch and a few framed pictures—but it was his.

After coming back to his apartment Taehyung has't been able to stop himself from thinking about the earlier words of Jungkook.

Who exactly was Jeon Jungkook?

And why did he feel like he had just stepped into something far bigger than he could understand?

As he stood near the window, looking out at the city, a small smirk played on his lips.
