The room is swallowed by darkness.

You clutch your phone, your fingers numb, your breath frozen in your throat.

The last message still glows on the screen—your own name, typed out by someone… or something that shouldn’t know it.

My name. My identity.

Your entire body feels wrong, like something deep inside has shifted.

Then—

A sound.

Soft. Scraping.

Behind you.

Your entire body tenses. The air feels charged, electric.

I can feel it there.

Close. Watching. Waiting.

Your phone buzzes violently. Another message.

Unknown

Don’t turn around.

You squeeze your eyes shut, willing yourself to wake up, to break free from this nightmare.

But your heart pounds like a drum inside your chest.

You can hear the whisper of fabric moving, the slow shuffle of feet dragging against the floor.

The presence is getting closer.

I’m right here.

A soft exhale brushes against the back of your neck.

You snap.

With a sharp gasp, you whirl around, your pulse hammering—

But there’s nothing.

No one.

The room is empty.

The closet stands closed. The bed is untouched. The walls are bare.

Your phone is the only source of light, casting a dim glow across your trembling hands.

I felt something.

I heard it.

But there’s nothing here.

Your phone buzzes again.

Unknown

Wrong move.

You swallow hard, gripping your phone tighter.

What do you want from me?!

Three dots. Typing. Then—

I want what you took.

Your stomach twists. A lump rises in your throat.

I didn’t take anything!

Silence. No response.

And then—slowly—

The closet door creaks open.

A chill runs through you.

The darkness inside is thicker now, stretching outward, spilling into the room like ink.

Then, from inside the closet—

A whisper.

Familiar.

Your own voice.

"Liar."

Your phone screen flickers. The messages disappear.

And then— A new one appears.
