Chap 5 : Ken's Past

"Hey Ken!!! Where were you right now?" Danial shouts, calling out his housemate's name for a thousands times but still, not even a single sign of him to be seen in their house..

"Ken, where are you?" He shouts again after feels giving up finding his housemate.

"I'm at the back. Come!" The shouting voice from the outside of their house make him startled.

"What the heck his doing outside in the middle of this weather?" Danial aks himself.

He walks out where Ken is. Ken stands at the balcony and staring at the falling's rain. No sign to stop.

"Hey dude! Why you sat here alone? It's cold man." Danial Pat's his hand in Ken's shoulder. He seems lost in his thought.

"I dont know man. I just remembers about my family. How are they, right now? Did they're doing well? Did they eat properly? I dont know. I really miss them so much." He says while his eyes still sticks to the falling's rain.

Danial stares at Ken then throws his eyes at the rain. He knew what his housemate think and feels right now.

Ken's father is a bad drunk, always done so much crime, and the worst part is his father had has killed his mother and almost rape his own daughter. Its lucky that Ken arrived just in time, at that time. Ken stopped his father. His father almost die because hammered by Ken if not because of his siblings stopped him.

In the weather like this, at such a heavy rains fallen that day, his mother was killed by their devilish father. If he didnt got home at time, maybe all of his siblings will die along with his mother.

Now, his father already put inside in the prison and his siblings in their aunt's care. He really felt grateful because his aunt willingly to taken care of his siblings. He really felt guilty and promised will take back his siblings when he capable enough to rise them properly.

But his aunt not really care about that stuff since she doesn't have a children and not to mention, she left alone after her husband died in the incident almost 20 years.

Ken let out a heavy sigh again. He really need to find a proper that will pay him twice than the job he have right now.

"Dan, if you were in my place, what will you do to help your loved one live in a proper life? But in this nowadays, it's so hard to even get just one job."

The question that just popped out from his housemate really make him startled. Ken is always like to play around and always make a stupid jokes. But when its come to his family and job, he always take its seriously.

Danial respects that thing and that why, he can feel a little bit relax when hanging out with Ken. Even so, he eyes still looking at the rains. He know Ken is staring at him right now. But he doesn't know what the right answers to give to Ken.

"I dont know dude. I never have been through all those."

Ever since he was a little, he never really need to think hard about what kind of job he need to do tomorrow or if there are any food left just in order to stay survive for a couple of days or weeks.

He sighs a little. As a human, he really are an ungrateful people. There are a lot of people who is really fighting and keep fighting to face this harsh life and here he is, running away from his life while maybe there a thousand of people out there who willingly to die just to be in his place.

" How can I even help him just to repay his kindness to me all this long? I thinks it's about the time I put an end to this thing." Danial lost in his thought.

"Hey dude! Chill... no need to think hard about my problem, okay? I'm just joking. Just enjoy your life while you can." Ken smiles and laughs, full of bitterness just in order not to make his housemate worry about him.

"Its really okay, dude. I still can handle this much." He smiles again and pat Danial's shoulder and about to go inside the house.

Danial only just looks at Ken's back then suddenly, something just popped out from his mind, right on time.

"Ken, wait! I just have a great job that will pay you maybe twice or triple from your current jobs." Danial says full of ecstatic's feeling toward Ken, who still shocks when he heard Danial shouted just now.

Danial not someone who really express his feeling and not to mention shouts like that.

"What kind of job is that?" Ken stares at Danial.

"My personal assistant." Danial says while wears a smiles on his face.

"Hah?? What?? Are you joking right now?" The words that just slipped out from his housemate's mouth really make him shocked. Is his housemate crazy?

"You will know soon. But the only thing that I want to know, are you really willing or no to take this job?" Danials asks again.

Ken thinks very hard for a little while. There's a lot of question in his mind right now. He long suspicion about his housemate came back to him. But he know he doesn't have any much choice right now. Then, he made up his mind.

"Yes, I accepted this job." Ken made up his mind then both of them shakes their hands.

That time, Ken realized something, there's not turning bad and he has a feeling that that job is not just an ordinary assistant and he need to fully prepare himself for the upcoming challenge ahead them.
