Reborn as Cold Emperor's Concubine [S1]
Scandal, Slander, and a Smitten Emperor 1
Lillian finds herself at the center of a scandal when the other concubines—led by the ever-jealous Clementine Harroe—falsely accuse her of tampering with the Emperor’s favorite tea blend, claiming she tried to poison him. Of course, the accusation is ridiculous, but in the treacherous world of the palace, facts matter less than drama.
Dragged before the court, Lillian remains unimpressed and sarcastic, while Rupert and Cassian provide their usual chaotic commentary. Just when things seem to spiral out of control, Emperor Victor steps in, coolly dismantling the accusations with sharp logic—and a not-so-subtle bias toward his favorite troublemaker.
In the end, not only does Lillian walk away unscathed, but Victor, amused by her unbothered attitude, openly declares her under his personal protection—much to the frustration of the jealous concubines.
The Imperial Court – Lillian is brought before the Emperor after being falsely accused.
Clementine Harroe - Concubine #19
*Accusingly* Your Majesty, Lady Lillian tampered with your tea! We witnessed her sneaking around the royal kitchen just this morning!
Beatrice Elcott - Concubine #54
She must have been up to something nefarious! Who knows what she put in there! *Dramatically*
Rosalind Thorne - Concubine #31
*Nodding solemnly* Poison, surely. A wicked woman will do anything to rise in favor.
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
*Arms crossed, unimpressed* Yes, yes, I poisoned the Emperor… and instead of dying, he decided to summon me for a chat. Clearly, I need a refund on my assassination skills.
Rupert Hargrove - Head Eunuch.
*Whispering to Cassian Darcy* Her Majesty, Queen of Sarcasm, has arrived.
Cassian Darcy - Foreign Envoy.
*Chuckling* I must say, if she were an assassin, she’d be the worst one I’ve ever seen. At least pick something more dramatic than tea.
Victor Alaric - ML
*Raising an eyebrow at Lillian* So? What do you have to say for yourself?
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
*Placing a hand on her chest, feigning innocence*
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
Your Majesty, I am but a humble concubine with no interest in courtly poison games. My only crime is having exceptional taste in tea. A crime, I might add, that I share with you.
Victor Alaric - ML
*Leaning back, amused* And yet, you’re always the one at the center of these accusations.
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
*Deadpan* Jealousy, Your Majesty. A tragic affliction. I pray for their recovery.
Clementine Harroe - Concubine #19
*Outraged* You–!
Victor Alaric - ML
*Raising a hand to silence her*
Victor Alaric - ML
Enough. *Looks at Eachen White* Eachen, has my tea been tampered with?
Eachen white - Servant
*Bowing* No, Your Majesty. The tea was prepared and served as always, with no interference.
Victor Alaric - ML
*To the concubines* Then this is nothing but slander.
Victor Alaric - ML
*His gaze sharpens* Falsely accusing a concubine under my protection? Bold.
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
*Grinning, muttering* Oh, how the tables turn.
Victor Alaric - ML
*Ignoring her teasing, voice laced with amusement* If anyone so much as breathes another baseless accusation against Lady Lillian, they will find themselves reassigned to a monastery.
Clementine Harroe - Concubine #19
A monastery?! *Gasps in horror*
Beatrice Elcott - Concubine #54
A monastery?! *Gasps in horror*
Rosalind Thorne - Concubine #31
A monastery?! *Gasps in horror*
Lillian Grey - FL (#47)
*Cheerfully* Oh, I hear the monks make excellent tea!
