episode 3
[Scene – Eun-woo’s Bedroom, Morning Continued]
Eun-woo
(Thoughts)💭
Sometimes, I wondered what happened to me. The runt of the family.
New, my half-brother, wasn’t like me. He, like our stepbrothers Hwang-in, Joong, and frist, was at least six feet tall and had an athletic build. Even Perth, although not as sturdily framed as the rest, still stood a head above me.
Eun-woo
And me? I was barely over five feet. Barely.
Who was ever going to find me attractive? ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
Eun-woo
💭When the girls talked about us brothers, it was always the same:
°Hwang-in was the gorgeous one.🤩😍
°Joong, the broodingly handsome one.😏
°New, the hot Asian one.😸
°First, the stunning one.💖
°Perth, the attractive one.😎
And me? The cute one.😑
Eun-woo
💭🙄Why was I always just ‘cute’? Just because I was below average height for a guy didn’t mean I had to be labeled like that.
Eun-woo
(grumbling as Hwang-in finally got off the bed)
I’m getting ready, so just leave already...
[He walks towards the door but pauses before stepping out.]
Hwang-In
(turning back with a casual smile)😀
Do you want me to drop you off at work?
Eun-woo
(shaking his head firmly)
No. I can ride there. I have a bike, remember? I’m old enough to look after myself.(҂⌣̀_⌣́)
Eun-woo
And Stop treating me like a kid..
ヽ(#`Д´)ノ┌┛〃
Eun-woo
💭(Thoughts)
The truth was, Hwang-in was the only one in our family who pampered me, who treated me like a kid.
My mom, Yoo Ji, had never spoiled me when she was alive. New, who was four years older than me, and our three stepbrothers—Joong, first, and Perth—didn’t either.
Eun-woo
💭They treated me like a normal brother. Close, but not too close.
Although… I seem to remember stepdad had been a little like Hwang-in. Overly fond of me, doting on me.
💭 this means (Narration/Thoughts)
Hwang-In
(chuckling softly)See? Old habits die hard.
[He flashes a smile before closing the door behind him.]
Eun-woo
💭Yeah. I guess old habits do die hard.
Like me always running to him. Seeking reassurance and comfort whenever I got into trouble, despite being a grown adult. Well, a teenage young man, to be precise.
Eun-woo
💭It couldn’t be helped. Hwang-in had been the one solid rock I could lean on when we lost our parents.
Eun-woo
💭And despite how much I tried to deny it, I kept leaning on him.(╯︵╰,)
[Eun-woo sighs and gets up from the bed, running a hand through his messy hair as he prepares to face the day.]
