episode 18

After much deliberation, Avinash felt the need to take a practical step forward. While the idea of Aditi's marriage was still a sensitive subject for Sunita, he knew that meeting Aryan and his family would help him understand the proposal better. He wanted to make sure that Aryan was not just from a respectable background, but also someone who truly cared for Aditi's happiness.

“Sunita, I’ve been thinking,” Avinash began, his voice steady but thoughtful. “Before we make any decision, I think it’s important for us to meet Aryan and his family. I want to know more about them—where they come from, their values, and whether Aryan is really the right match for Aditi.”

Sunita paused, considering his words carefully. “You’re right. We don’t know enough about him yet. I just hope he’s genuine, that his intentions are good.”

Avinash nodded. “Exactly. And we need to understand his family as well. Marriage is about two families coming together, not just two people. I want to make sure that this is the right decision for Aditi, and for our family.”

Episode 68: The Proposal and Aditi's Outburst

That evening, the air was tense with the upcoming meeting. Sunita sat down with Aditi, knowing it was time to address the matter that had been weighing heavily on her mind. She had discussed the proposal with her husband, and now it was time to bring Aditi into the conversation fully.

"Aditi," Sunita began, her voice gentle but firm, "We need to talk about the proposal Aryan's family made." She could see the confusion and concern on her daughter's face. "I know you’re still young, but Aryan’s family is serious about getting to know you better."

Aditi, who had been quietly sitting on her bed, stood up abruptly. "Proposal? For me?" she asked in disbelief. "What are you talking about, Mama?"

Sunita nodded, trying to keep her tone calm despite the growing tension. "Yes, sweetheart. Aryan has shown interest in you. His family believes you’d be a good match. Tomorrow, they’re coming over to meet you."

The words hit Aditi like a thunderbolt. "What?!" She recoiled, her face pale with shock and anger. "No! I can’t believe this! I’m just a child! I don’t want to get married, Mama! I’m not ready!" She clenched her fists, trying to hold back tears of frustration.

Sunita, though taken aback by the intensity of her daughter's reaction, tried to explain. "I know you’re young, Aditi, but Aryan comes from a good family. His intentions are sincere. I just want you to consider it."

Aditi’s eyes filled with tears as she paced around the room, unable to hold in her emotions. "But Mama, I’m not ready to marry anyone! I don’t want to! I don’t even know him! And how could you think of marrying me off when Meera didi is older and should marry first?"

Sunita felt the sting of her daughter’s words, but she remained calm, trying to reason with her. "I know you’re upset, Aditi. But Aryan’s family believes you’d be a good match, and we can’t ignore their offer. They want to meet you tomorrow to see if you’re comfortable with the idea."

"I don’t want to meet them! I don’t want any part of this!" Aditi shouted, her voice trembling with anger. "I’m too young! I’m just 18! I don’t want to be forced into something I’m not ready for. How can you do this to me, Mama?"
