episode 11

As soon as Harshita's condition became clear, her father and mother rushed to her room, concerned and visibly shaken. Aditi stood by her mother, her face filled with worry. Harshita’s condition had taken a sudden and unexpected turn, and everyone was in a state of confusion.

“Didi, what happened? Why are you feeling this way?” Aditi asked, her voice trembling with concern. She couldn’t bear seeing her cousin like this, so pale and weak.

Harshita, still lying on the bed, barely had the strength to respond. “I don’t know... I just feel so tired... I think the stress... it got to me,” she whispered.

Her father, unable to hide his concern, quickly picked up the phone. “We need a doctor, now,” he said urgently, calling the family physician. He turned to his wife, who was pacing the room, her worry increasing by the second. “Get some water and cool cloths for her,” he instructed.

Aditi, standing quietly by her mother, watched the scene unfold. Her heart raced as she tried to keep calm for Harshita’s sake. She had always seen her cousin as a strong and energetic person, so seeing her in such a vulnerable state was unsettling.

As Harshita’s parents worked to make her comfortable, the sound of the doctor’s car arriving at the house reached their ears. The family doctor hurried upstairs to examine Harshita.

Within minutes, the doctor entered the room and immediately began checking Harshita’s vitals. He listened to her chest, checked her pulse, and took a detailed look at her symptoms. After a few minutes, the doctor turned to the worried parents.

“It looks like she’s experiencing extreme exhaustion, likely from the stress of the wedding. It’s very common for brides to feel this way after such an intense and emotional event,” the doctor explained. “She needs rest, fluids, and some time to recover. I will give her a mild medication to help with the nausea, but she should remain in bed for at least a day or two.”

Aditi, who had been standing quietly beside her mother, let out a sigh of relief. Though Harshita was still in discomfort, it wasn’t something that couldn’t be treated with rest. The family was grateful for the doctor’s reassurance.

As the doctor continued to attend to Harshita, a wave of concern spread through the family. Harshita’s condition had worsened quickly, and though the doctor had assured them it was just exhaustion, everyone knew that the wedding had taken a toll on her body.

Meanwhile, Harshita's brother, devesh, had been with the other guests and family members, participating in the celebrations. As he wandered around the house, he noticed the atmosphere had changed. People were speaking in hushed voices, and the usual lively chatter had quieted down.

devesh quickly made his way to the room where Harshita was resting. When he saw his sister lying on the bed, pale and looking weak, his worry deepened. He turned toward the doctor and asked, “What’s wrong with her? Why does she look so unwell?”

The doctor reassured him, “It’s just exhaustion. She’ll need to rest and recover. It’s important she stays in bed for a while.”

devesh, still looking worried, nodded and then stepped outside the room to find jiju. The farewell ceremony, which was supposed to happen later in the evening, was now in jeopardy because of Harshita’s health.

He found jiju sitting with a group of village elders, discussing the final plans for the night. devesh approached him quietly, and after a brief exchange of pleasantries, he told him the situation.

“Jiju, Harshita isn’t feeling well,” Devesh said, his voice laced with concern. “She’s been vomiting, and the doctor said it’s just exhaustion, but she won’t be able to go to the farewell ceremony like we planned.”

Jiju’s face immediately turned serious as he stood up. “What do you mean? The farewell is an important part of the wedding,” he said, clearly troubled by the sudden change of plans.

devesh ’s voice softened. “I know, but right now, she needs to rest. She can’t go, and I think we should delay the farewell. I don’t want her pushing herself too hard.”

Jiju sighed, realizing the situation was out of his hands. He glanced over at the family members and the other guests, still unaware of what had transpired. “I’ll let them know,” he said reluctantly. “We’ll go later. Harshita’s health is more important right now.”

Raghav nodded in gratitude. “Thank you, jiju.”

As Raghav went back to the room where Harshita was resting, jiju took a deep breath, preparing to inform the guests that the farewell would be delayed. He had hoped the wedding would conclude on a high note, but now, all he could think about was Harshita’s well-being.

Meanwhile, Aditi, still sitting by Harshita’s side, couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief that the doctor had reassured them. But she knew the plans were changing fast, and she had to be ready for whatever came next.
