Carriages of all elegant backgrounds gathered aimlessly just after the entrance into NML (No man's land.)
The first to arrive were two crimson red carriages which resembled an endless flame that had a flame dragon emblem etched onto the center.
The second were two golden carriages that reflected the enchanting sun's rays with a white and an extravagant gold dragon emblem.
The third were also two midnight black carriages and a faint raven blue thread around a glowing jade black dragon emblem.
The final one to arrive was a single snow white carriage that brought forth a shiver as a crystal blue and white dragon emblem pattern danced around it.
Welcomed by four esteemed and royal dressed centaurs, the guests were led inside.
The night sky gave birth to endless stars as its beauty sang across the splendid evening. Bells and chants of elite rhythms echoed across the massive palace.
The ancient stones sat neatly in place and the decoration befit royalty.
Upon entering the first corridor, the guests were greeted by glistening lights from toffee brown to candle gold.
Portraits of the kingdoms' alumni and those of NML were displayed in the vast corridor.
The silk red carpet floor felt the most comfortable against their feet, but none dared to talk to the other.
An eerie silence had enveloped itself around them, none to dare raise a voice against the other. Screams and shouts unheard but alive in the dweller's mind. Once they entered the third corridor, all the nobles were told to come to a halt.
"Ahem!" Vol, a green haired elf cleared his throat to get his guests' attention.
"Allow me to present, warm light and pure innocence' reflections; the Sun kingdom's prestigious guests who courageously sought out the Jyed after 500 years," holding out his hand.
Claps and music were heard as the large double doors made of rare oak wood reinforced with a special enchantment spell to make them last for millennialss; were pushed open.
Four individuals walked in. Dressed in the brightest yellow-gold colors. Their balayage blonde hair and their gunmetal blue eyes suited their most striking appearance. The king and queen complimented each other as much as the eldest daughter in her mid-twenties and second son in his early twenties did.
"Our next welcome applause for the ruler of heat, destroyer of any hindrance to success, a fire that continues to burn-the Flame kingdom's gracious guests."
Another applause and tunes from the music booth followed.
Their crimson red hair and blood-red eyes were a trait unique only to them. Their outfits well befitting their image of the nicknamed - red kingdom. Both king and queen as well as the two heirs both in their late twenties had appearances that deserved to be gawked at.
"Our next set of guests. The silence as everyone gives into slumber, a moon's embrace; too close but truly far away. No hint of emotion and yet too many to be proven. Please welcome, the Night kingdom's dominators."
The same warm and welcoming greeting was shown.
Four individuals walked into the room. Garments designed with elite silver and materials made of midnight blue. Their eyes were a perfect royal blue and their hair glistened with an emerald velvet color. The king and queen had their fingers entagled while their two sons accompanied behind them. The eldest being 28 years old while the younger one, just 21.
"Finally, we welcome the dawn of ice. No warmth succumbed to them, and yet they strive and flourish. A strength feared by many, but revered by those who understand its true potential. The Frost kingdom's sought appearance and a new face."
Even though gasps were heard when the others entered, these were slightly unsual and a bit loud. Music and rounds of appluase appreciated their appearance but people were mostly shocked.
The questions being, 'Why would Fronheis let his daughter debut now after her 350 years in isolation?' 'What is he thinking?' 'She has already passed her coming of age ceremony, so Why now?'
Unlike her parents' matching lavender eyes, she had an astonishing pair of emerald green eyes. Her hair seemed to be a lot more crystal silver with a faint hint of sky blue despite having both their hair colors.
Her medium caramel skin with a warm golden undertone was in sync with their arctic blue royal garments.
Formalities were done, and the nobles began doing what nobles do best. Socializing and indirectly insulting each other.
...****************...
A soft bell was rung to get everyone's attention once more. The whispers quieted down. Lights got dim and another short announcement followed.
"May your partner be as gracious and swift on the dance floor as they are with their tongue."
No one saw who it was that made the announcement and frankly, no one cared. After all, it was the element of surprise that made everything interesting.
Upon landing a partner, everyone joined on the dance floor.
Xenroth found the person her eyes had been targetting from the moment she arrived. At the corner of the room, she found the tall and masculine figure rested against a pillar further away from the dancefloor, closer to the dark shadows with his arms crossed.
His semi-pale white skin matched the white light that flickered as the soft music enticed partners to get handsy with each other. Not one moment had she seen him smile, and she wondered why she felt so drawn to him. His emerald velvet neck length hair hid the perfect veins around his neck on the side. That pair of royal blue eyes glittered with the dark atmosphere that seemed to gather around him.
'He really lives up to his night traits huh,' she softly chuckled.
Finally standing before him, Xenroth ignored the presence of the one beside him. Presumably his younger brother as he seemed a bit shorter than him, though by a few inches.
"Since its my first time, would your royal highness care to spare this poor young lady her first dance?" she extended her right hand.
Ryu hesitated a for bit as he thought she was making the request to his kid brother, Rin.
Took him a few seconds to realise she meant him.
"I must warn my lady but I am not quite the dancer," he politely replied.
"I dont mind us stepping on each other then. I would greatly appreciate your kindness if you would make my firsts more exciting," she insisted.
Ryu was taken back when he came to realise that this young lady did not seem interested in his younger brother who looked almost the same age as herself. According to the rumour, the Frosts had kept her hidden for 350(18) years. Because of that, they had come to doubt the possibility of Frost kingdom having the said heiress.
Rin chuckled at his brother's silent contemplating appearance that was more confused than he was. No moment short of it, a young enchantress appeared and scooped him off his feet to the dancefloor.
"Well then, I sadly have no reason to refuse your earnest offer mi'lady," Ryu sighed.
"The pleasure is all mine, your royal highness..?"
"Ryuin, but you can call me Ryu."
"I'm Xenroth with an X not a Z," she smirked, "This is the first time I'm saying this but, you can call me Xen."
Ryu could not fight back his laughter. A soft one escaped his mouth and he gazed deep into her eyes, "I think I'll call you emerald. Atleast until I find a better one," he said.
Placing his right hand in hers, they joined in on the dance in their own space away from the spotlight, but bright enough for them to watch their movement.
