Daemon charged towards the artifact, determined to use it to break the captivation spell. But Professor Ravenwood was too quick. She cast a binding spell, immobilizing him in mid-air.
As he struggled to break free, she began to chant in a dark, ancient language. The air around Daemon began to distort, and he felt a searing pain coursing through his veins.
With a surge of adrenaline, Daemon managed to shatter the binding spell and grab the artifact. But it was too late. Professor Ravenwood's dark magic had already taken hold, and he felt his life force ebbing away.
With a desperate bid to escape, Daemon flung himself towards the door, the artifact clutched in his hand. He stumbled through the corridors, pursued by Professor Ravenwood's cackling laughter and the sound of her minions closing in.
Finally, he reached the castle gates and flung himself into the night, the artifact still clutched in his hand. But the damage was done. Daemon's vision blurred, and he felt himself falling, falling...
When he came to, he was lying in a hidden glade, his body wracked with pain. The artifact lay beside him, its power still pulsing through his veins. But Daemon knew he couldn't stay there. He had to get back to his friends, had to stop Professor Ravenwood...
With a groan, he hauled himself to his feet, the world spinning around him. He stumbled forward, driven by sheer determination.
But as he vanished into the trees, a figure watched from the shadows. Professor Ravenwood's eyes gleamed with triumph. "He may have escaped this time," she whispered, "but soon, he'll be mine... and so will the others."
Professor Rosebird was sitting beside Daemon's bed, looking worried. "Daemon, can you hear me?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle.
Daemon tried to nod, but even that was too much effort. He felt a hand on his forehead, and a soothing voice whispered, "Rest, Daemon. You're safe now."
Madam Lirien, the nurse, was shaking her head. "He's been through a terrible ordeal. I've never seen anyone survive such dark magic."
Professor Rosebird's face was grim. "We need to get to the bottom of this. Who might it be? ."
Professor Rosebird's face was grim. "We need to find out who did this to you, Daemon. But for now, rest and recover."
Daemon nodded weakly, still trying to process everything that had happened. He knew he had to tell someone about Professor Ravenwood's betrayal, but who could he trust?
As he drifted off to sleep, he knew he had to come up with a plan to rescue his friends and expose Professor Ravenwood's true intentions. But for now, he was alone in his knowledge, and that made him feel even more vulnerable.
Meanwhile, Professor Ravenwood was watching from the shadows, a sly smile spreading across her face. "Soon, Daemon will join his friends in my collection," she whispered to herself. "And no one will suspect a thing."
Professor Ravenwood's eyes gleamed with excitement as she made her way to the hidden chamber beneath the school. Her minions, Amber, June, and George, stood motionless, their eyes blank.
"Time for the next phase," she whispered, her hands weaving intricate patterns in the air.
A dark energy began to swirl around the three students, their bodies starting to glow with an eerie light.
"Daemon will soon join you," Professor Ravenwood cackled. "And then, nothing will stop me from achieving my ultimate goal."
Suddenly, the chamber was filled with a blinding flash of light. When the light faded, the three students were gone, replaced by three shadowy duplicates.
"The Shadow Weavers have done their work," Professor Ravenwood said, admiring her handiwork. "Now, let's see how long it takes Daemon to notice..."
Daemon slipped out of the nurse's room, determined to expose Professor Ravenwood's plan. He made his way to Professor Orion's office, hoping to find him alone.
"Professor Orion, I need to tell you something," Daemon said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Professor Orion looked up from his papers, concern etched on his face. "What is it, Daemon?"
Daemon took a deep breath and recounted everything: the captivation spell, the Mirror of Shadows, and the shadow duplicates.
Professor Orion's expression turned grave. "I'll speak to Professor Rosebird immediately. We'll get to the bottom of this."
Later that day, Professor Rosebird summoned Daemon to her office. "Daemon, Professor Orion has told me everything. We need to be careful; if Professor Ravenwood is using dark magic, we don't know what she's capable of."
"We need to rescue my friends," Daemon urged.
"I agree," Professor Rosebird said. "But we'll need a solid plan. Let's gather a small team of trusted professors and come up with a strategy."
The night of the rescue mission, Daemon and the team gathered outside the hidden chamber. Professor Rosebird nodded to Professor Orion, who whispered a password to the lock. The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit stairway.
"Stay close," Professor Rosebird whispered, leading the way down.
At the bottom, they found Amber, June, and George, still trapped in the captivation spell. Professor Ravenwood's voice echoed from the shadows, "Fools! You'll never leave this place!"
Daemon rushed forward, but Professor Rosebird held him back. "Not yet," she whispered. "We need to break the spell first."
Professor Orion began to chant, his hands weaving intricate patterns. Slowly, the spell's hold on the trio weakened. Amber, June, and George blinked, confusion etched on their faces.
"It's us," Daemon whispered, relief washing over him. "We're here to rescue you."
But as they turned to leave, Professor Ravenwood emerged from the shadows, her eyes blazing with fury...
Daemon stood tall, facing Professor Ravenwood. "It ends now," he said, his voice firm.
Professor Ravenwood sneered. "You think you can defeat me, Daemon? I have the power of the Shadow Arts!"
She raised her hands, unleashing a dark blast. But Daemon was ready. He raised his own hands, casting a simple Reflection Spell. The dark magic bounced back, striking Professor Ravenwood with incredible force.
The Mirror of Shadows behind her shattered, its fragments exploding outward. Professor Ravenwood stumbled back, her eyes wide with shock.
"No... impossible!" she gasped, before dissipating into nothingness.
The team stared in stunned silence. Daemon's ordinary Reflection Spell had defeated the dark magic.
Professor Rosebird smiled. "Well done, Daemon. Sometimes, simplicity is the greatest magic of all."
As they made their way back to the school, Amber, June, and George regained their memories. "Thanks, Daemon," Amber said, grinning. "We owe you one."
The group shared a laugh, relieved that the ordeal was over. But as they walked, Daemon noticed something strange... the fragments of the Mirror of Shadows seemed to be reforming, whispering an ominous message: "The true darkness has only just begun..."
