Allesky glanced once in a while on the young maid who was looking so tense as they reached the room of the second floor.
She was clutching on her maid uniform showing that obvious nervousness on her face.
"I'll be fine on my own. I didn't need to be escorted up here in the first place..." She said and entered the room that was opened for her by the young maid and she laid her bag beside the bed taking off her black, leather jacket, her shoes and the primary accessories.
Allesky even noticed how the young maid was still there at the door looking at her with admiring eyes as if she was some sort of celebrity who had been spotted by a top fan.
"Ts~ Don't you have other chores to attend to?"
The young maid was deliberately taken out from her daydream and only willingly left the room closing the door to give Allesky her privacy she most wanted to have.
"I had the impression that she was kinda intimidating but what was that? She was more like a model, or more likely, a princess who had just gone out of her castle to showcase her unfathomable beauty~ Is she a goddess of some sort?? I didn't know that was the late Great Master's granddaughter. I'm so honored..." Was the uttering of the young maiden's mouth as she kept her pace in rhythm down the hallways and going back to her chores she had left off somewhere.
Meanwhile, Allesky scanned her room taking notice of the freshness of the whole setup of the interior design.
It was rather welcoming, bright, and ecstatic as if it was the mirror of her once perceived personal haven to retire from her tedious journey.
She drew nigh to the grooming desk swiping the tip of her fingers on the varnished surface that left not a speck of dust anywhere on her skin. Allesky thought how exemplary the cleaning was done in her room and how very much in order were her things and furniture in their arrangement.
The scent of the newly folded sheets and blanket cascaded an array of soothing aroma when she also opened the cabinets and, just along the drawers of it, Allesky saw the pair of gloves, small as they were being her favorite to wear some budding years ago.
The nostalgia of the eerie environment was sweet and refreshing having flooded back pleasant and wonderful memories of the days she spent in this mansion back in time. It was indeed where she had hoped to come back. Although it wasn't as what she could have expected to see now.
"You really prepared this for me, huh, grandpa?" Allesky shortly spoke with an endearing smile having the wind as her listener for its presence came in as a welcoming breeze from the window with arms of curtains that waved its pleasant hospitality.
Allesky parted the curtains that allowed the sunlight to cast its radiance inside the room that she gazed at the outside and the foreground of the mansion's expanse.
From what caught her view, a pool with a twin slide and beach chairs, a tennis lawn, and a small pavilion that would likely cater a romantic dance in the evening being ornamented with the flowering white angels and azaleas alongside it. Or rather, it would present a peaceful area for a friendly reunion and conversation while being served with drinks and pastry.
As some fragments of time passed that Allesky spent by that window, she remembered an important person that she had to share her connection with and to relay the success of her arrival at her grandfather's place.
She receded back in her bedroom and searched the pocket of her bag to slip out her phone from it then dialing a certain person whose contact number she had written on a piece of paper she kept in her wallet.
It was the person who had contacted her back when she was in Armonia and the one who mailed the letter of her grandfather to her. Her name is Kearthle Nightdale, an identity of no familiarity with Allesky rather than the self introduction she had testified of being a good friend to her late grandfather.
It was stated in the letter that Allesky has to inform this person once she arrives safely in the mansion and therefore be more acquainted later on.
"Hello, it's Kearthle speaking. And who might this be? Wait. Is this Miss Allesky Zerclair?" Was the answer of the feminine voice upon picking up the call, who, being particular of Allesky to be the one behind the unknown caller confirmed the identity of the young lady.
"Yes. It's Allesky Zerclaire calling. I have arrived at my grandfather's mansion just now and I intended to let you know as per your instructions." Was the reply of Allesky putting the phone to her other ear with the adjustment of her intonations. "Is there anything else that I have to know now that I'm here? Oh, and can we meet in person? I have been wanting to be able to talk to you face to face after I returned here. It would be very reassuring if we would."
Kearthle's short chuckle was heard resounding that Allesky deemed it to have been a way of acknowledging her request.
"It has been long planned that we would meet after all so we definitely would. And the sooner, the better, right? I'll come by your grandfather's house tomorrow in the morning. Until then, save the details of your interrogations. I am well aware you have them all. I've been told by your grandpa."
Allesky had a moment of silence on the mention of her grandfather as there was a part of her that left a bit of jealousy. She was curious as to what exactly made this person, Kearthle Nightdale, to be so acquainted to her grandfather that she even received instructions about Allesky's possible actions and intentions during her return. It was right that Nightdale spoke of her having questions to ask of and she was further convinced to get some clear answers when the two of them would finally meet.
"So, Miss Sky. It won't be a problem to call you that, would it?" Said Kearthle with a sound of familiarity that foreshadowed an intention to befriend the young lady herself.
"I don't see anything wrong with that..." Allesky replied walking back to the window and stood there overseeing the gate from her peripheral view with her phone still held over her ear.
There was this short, suppressed squeal from the other line before Allesky made mention of what exact time will Kearthle come the next day.
"You won't have anything to do tomorrow? I can come in the morning. And please do mind that it won't be just a visit. By the way, Miss Sky, please call me Kearth from now on."
There was a trace of merriment in the sound of Kearthle's voice and the gentleness of it had lessened any doubts that Allesky kept in herself. Yet she made to remind herself that there was still no absolute certainty of whether she has to fully trust this person, Kearthle Nightdale, on the account of her grandfather's sake.
"I'll get used to dropping formalities overtime. No need to rush to be familiar with each other, right?" Allesky replied taking a breath of the air that had once again entered the room from the window.
"Yeah. Yeah. No need to rush, Miss Sky... I am just honestly overjoyed to know you're back in Elcielo. And of course, to be able to meet you so as to make concrete my impressions about you. It had long been my curiosity. The fact that you are the Great Master's granddaughter, the respected Sir Aero Rochester. Welcome back home, Sky." Kearthle enunciated with the very clean emphasis on her last sentence that left Allesky on the grasp of her very hand as if, by chance, had she heard of another's voice rather than the person she was talking to behind the line of the call.
"Uhm~ Miss Sky, is everything alright?" Recounted the voice from the call after which Allesky had been silent for a recurring time and she sensed that something might have occurred. "It was strangely a long pause of silence back there. If it's not a matter to worry about, then I presume we should end this call if our intention is found mutual. Thank you for calling me upon arriving. I pray you find your new dwelling a delight. Til then, let's meet and greet again tomorrow."
Allesky shook her head to cast off her untimely oblivion of what she saw was a recurrent of a past event that was sealed in the remnants of her childhood memory.
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow when you come by. And if you won't mind, please save this contact information of mine on yours. I'll do the same at my end."
"Oh, wow! Really, seriously? Will do then. I definitely would. Thank you~ And bye now~"
"Yeah. Bye~"
There was an emblem of a vague demeanor of joy that bewitched the once sullen and pensive countenance of the young lady after which she had lowered her arm along with her phone. She, being used in the familiar atmosphere of reproach from her father, had now crept out of that deceitful grimace that kept her unaware of her opportunity to find favor of someone else's company. Nonetheless, it was her unspeakable desire to have a more honest and decent conversation that the short exchange from partly a stranger endeared her promptly as if it were her mutual discourse and the identity of the person someone as close by heart to her from a long time ago.
Allesky retired to her bed when the phone call was over and she admitted herself to simple chores in the mansion so as to regain her sense of reality that she was indeed in a new environment and would now be impalpable from the direct trace of her father.
The next morning, she awoke with a juvenile deportment having sought after the young maiden that served as her attendant since the preceding day but perchance did Allesky found the reason of her descent on the cascading wooden stairs nor was there any shadow of her presence.
Yet there was one with the bearing of a new face and a new countenance did the unwelcome visitor stand up from his recline on the stuffy cushions in the living room that were, as intended to be a seat for rest or waiting, supposedly had been in his temperament to stay still until Allesky had gone down to meet his personage.
It took a significant moment or so that Allesky alarmed herself of the sudden visitor whom she wouldn't even consider such as her real visitor unless he be Kearthle herself.
"Who the heck are you?" It was the sole reverberating language that escaped her small lips with the tip of her fingers in unforeseen stress on the handle that arched the side of the stairway.
"I've come to escort you to the agency..." The calm response of the man appearing in a plain, black suit with that mysterious black mask that covered half of his face revealing only the undertone of his mouth and chin.
Those ominous, sea-colored orbs were translucent behind the eyehole of that black mask peeking deeply into one's soul.
Allesky, driven by her defensive consciousness, held in a quick stance of action the nearest elephant figurine her own two hands could grasp within her reach and guarded herself haphazardly in a constant, meticulous taunting of her eyes to that stranger, the one man that stood in the living room.
"I am Agent Nickel but you could call me Nick~ A pleasure to meet you with apologies for the sudden and unwelcome intrusion..." Declares the man of whom Allesky's undivided attention was directed to at the moment and caused her not to even let go of a single careless moment that would offer an opportunity for the man to strike at her as she suspected to happen likewise.
"Whoever you are. I demand you to stay right there and I'll be calling the police~" Was the warning that was rather sarcastic in declaration as it came like a pun of some kind to the unnamed man's ear.
Nonetheless, Allesky searched the pockets of her pajamas until she had secured the touch on her phone while still showing off her fierce expression in pretending to be more threatening than the very presence of the man himself.
In that period of time, the mysterious man raised his steadiness and made his move to attack Allesky aiming for her hand that held her phone so as to take it from her by hook or by crook.
In no further intention, Allesky was readily quirkier to avoid that arm of the man and she even had the instinctive dominance to inflict a hit on that target with the elephant figurine after she had closed their distance leaving the man down on his knees in a short while with the aftermath of pain.
Allesky took this opportunity to flee from the man and her running had led her to enter the kitchen where she was then halted upon the sight of the young maiden she originally was looking for.
The young maid was unconscious leaning on the refrigerator with her arms and legs loosely drawn on the floor as if she was introduced to some hypnotics or some sort. There was none other to have done it to her but the man that Allesky encountered in the living room that gave it a more compelling reason for Allesky to be aware of the danger imposed off by the stranger.
Before Allesky could even take a step once more closer to the unconscious young maid, her whole system chilled along with the sudden tremor of her hand. It was due to a swift passing of a bullet that whispered in her ear when it was shot millimeters away from her ear and went through the refrigerator that was before her.
"You dodged it. But that's not much of a surprise." Said the man reloading the gun he had just used allowing the trembling lady in front of her to turn her head in his direction.
She clenched her fist in a sense of inferiority but she rather chose to not expose her feign disadvantage and the fact that she is starting to be enveloped in a horrid fear of losing her dear life by the hands of a man she doesn't even know of.
