Unfamiliar Country
As Rithika stepped off the plane at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, she was immediately struck by the unfamiliarity of her surroundings.
The bustling terminal echoed with Russian chatter, signs in Cyrillic script loomed overhead, and a wave of uncertainty washed over her.
Clutching her passport and luggage tightly, she took a deep breath, determined not to show her inner turmoil on her face.
She had never thought in her wildest dream of visiting Russia, but now that she was here alone, the reality felt daunting.
Her heart raced as she navigated through customs, trying her best to appear calm and composed despite the nervous knot in her stomach.

" I need to get out from here and find ruhan."
She moved to the designated meeting spot, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
Rithika
"Where the hell is this guy? Damn it!!"
Minutes ticked by like hours as she scanned the faces in the crowd, her heart sinking with each passing moment.
Rithika
"Maybe he's stuck in traffic."
She reassured herself, trying to stay calm. But deep down, the worry gnawed at her. Moscow was unfamiliar territory, and she don't even speak russian to ask for help confidently.
Rithika
" I..If he don't come to take me than where I'll go?...I.. it's new country and I don't know anything about here. Ruhan please come."
With no local SIM card to call her best friend back home, Rithika felt a pang of isolation. She checked her phone again, hoping for a message or any sign from Ruhan.
The airport announcements echoed in multiple languages, adding to her confusion.
Deciding to take action, she approached an information desk, where a helpful attendant spoke limited English.
Attendant
"Да, чем я могу тебе помочь, мама?'' ....("Yes, How can I help you mam?")
Attendant
"How can I help you mam?. I'm sorry but my english is not good as yours so, please corporate."
Rithika
"It's perfect for me to understand."
Rithika
"Actually I'm new here and the person who was coming to pick me up is not here. I guess he's struck in traffic or some important work. I don't have anywhere to go so, I've to wait for him here that's the only option left for me."
Rithika
"Don't tell me she didn't understand anything I said."
Attendant
"Only little bit."
Rithika
"Okay...I ...I will explain you again."
Through a mixture of gestures and broken phrases, Rithika managed to convey her situation. The attendant nodded sympathetically and gestured towards a nearby waiting area.
Feeling a bit more hopeful, Rithika headed there, but still, Ruhan was nowhere in sight. She glanced at her watch nervously, realizing she couldn't wait indefinitely.
Gathering her courage, she decided to explore outside the airport, hoping Ruhan might be circling the terminals due to traffic or other delays.
