Chapter 1.1: Watching From Afar.

"BOSS, we have an urgent meeting with Mr. Chen at 2pm. It's already 1:50 pm, we're going to be late," a female secretary reminded King anxiously.

They had been there at KFC for almost two hours now, just hanging out in the car. His boss hadn't ordered any food, so she is wondering why they were there. But he noticed that his boss was deeply engrossed in watching the girl at the KFC counter, and from inside the car, they could see her smiling as she served customers.

Although she didn't want to disturb his boss who seemed to be watching the girl at the counter, she have no choice  but to speak because it seemed like his boss wasn't aware of the time. They were supposed to be heading to his boss's business partner but their boss hadn't instructed them to leave yet.

"Sheryl, right? The new secretary?" His boss didn't even glance at her. His eyes were still on the girl.

"Yes, boss, my name is Sheryl," she said nervously. 

Her boss is intimidating, and it seems like all of his employees were afraid of him. He wasn't one to talk much; even though they had been together in the car for a while now, he hadn't spoken to anyone.

"From now on, you're fired. This is your first and last day in my company."

She was stunned by what she heard. Why was it her last day?

"Walter, get her out of my car. I don't like secretaries who are more impatient than the boss and meddle too much," he said.

"Boss, I'm sorry! I'm just reminding you of your schedule since it seems like it's my job as your secretary! I didn't mean to be rude!" she said.

"Walter, I won't repeat myself again!" His boss seemed to ignore her plea.

Immediately, Walter, his boss's butler, and two other bodyguards in the car followed him. They practically dragged her out of the car.

"Please, I'm begging you! It's my dream job to work for Mr. King. At least tell me why I'm being fired when I'm just simply reminding his schedule!" Sheryl was almost in tears because of being suddenly fired from her job. She knew she was competitive enough, and she had worked really hard just to get the job, only to be fired on her first day?! It was really unfair!

The two bodyguards and Walter exchanged glances. It seemed like they felt guilty about what happened to her, so Walter spoke up.

"It's because of the girl at the counter," Walter said.

She glanced at the girl at the counter and then at their boss who is still inside the car. He was still staring at the girl at KFC.

"Boss doesn't like people who don't know how to be sensitive, and that's what cost you your job. When Boss is here and he's watching Lady Kaitlyn, he gets really angry if he's disturbed," Walter explained.

She became even more confused. "Watching? But why is he watching her?"

"Our boss is obsessed with that girl. He's here every day just to watch her."

She was astonished! That girl at the counter just looked like a 16-year-old kid! Does that mean that King Estefano, who was already 31 years old is a p*dophile?!

"Now you know why you got fired. Don't ever tell anyone about it. We only told you this because we feel sorry for you that you got fired on your first day. Our boss will know if you spread any rumors about him, and you will surely regret it if something like that happens," Walter threatened.

She just fell silent and felt scared. She had researched King Estefano before applying to his company as a secretary. He was a businessman and one of the richest men in Asia, but there were shady rumors circulating in the corporate world that besides his telecommunication company, he was also involved in underground business and had killed many people who tried to get in his way. Those were all just rumors, but now it seemed like they were true based on how they were talking to her right now.

She knew he was a really dangerous person. That might be the reason why he had so many bodyguards always following him. Besides Walter and the two bodyguards she had spoken to, there were two more cars there with more bodyguards inside, all belongs to their boss.

After being told the secret obsession of her 'former' boss by his bodyguards, she walked away. But before that, she glanced at the girl they claimed was his boss's obsession.

She seems just like a normal person. She's pretty, simple, and looks so innocent, so she still couldn't understand how she got the attention of a multi-billionaire man like King Estefano. She knew many women were falling all over him and would do anything just to be with him. They were beautiful, famous, and rich too, but why did that girl become the object of obsession for their boss?

She just shook her head. Although she was curious, that's as far as it went. She had no choice but to find another job. AGAIN.
