When my mother called me and said that we were under threat, I didn't think, I just ran.

I was in the training area at the time, and a bunch of soldiers went with me, along with my beta, chasing the threat.

My mother said she saw a shadow near the trees, and that Luiza stopped, staring at it. She was in a trance and trembling. My mother got goosebumps and knew it was dangerous.

I ran so fast. Arriving there, I saw a shadow disappear into thin air. I ordered my guards to search everywhere.

I took Luiza inside, and she began to calm down.

I asked her,

"Love, did you know the man?"

But she shook her head, saying no.

But I figured it would be difficult to find any clues. I left the room and went to my office. Cassandra was already there with worry in her eyes. She told me that someone else knew who Luiza was, which was bad news.

Her wretched ex, Julio, not only knew what she was, but his plan was to leave her as vulnerable as possible so that anyone could take advantage of her fragility.

Julio just didn't count on her ending up with me here, but how did the vampire king find out she was here?

Cassandra told me that the king didn't know she was here, but he came after Julio because it was likely that Julio was working for the vampire king.

She looked at me, and I went on high alert. What she told me next almost broke me.

"I don't see Luiza in your future. What I see is war and a lot of pain. I just ask you to stay calm because that could change."

I hope so, because I won't let anyone or anything take my mate from me. I will kill anyone who tries. I ordered the pack's defenses to be increased and everyone to be on alert. I can't let anyone in here without being detected again.
