I could hear the faint hum of Christian’s car outside—our way out. I pulled Roshni close, scanning for any remaining threats. The silence that followed was unsettling. It was the kind of silence that told you the worst was yet to come.

LET'S GO!
I yelled toward Christian, who was already pushing the last of the Rawats into the car.
Roshni followed me this time without resistance. As we ran through the wreckage, a memory flashed through my mind—her furious eyes when she had grabbed my collar earlier today. That same fire, that same defiance.
Only now, she wasn’t just angry. She was broken—by everything her family had been through, by the betrayal of her own blood.
We reached the car. I shoved her inside, slamming the door behind her.
