Marianne sat down on a chair, away from Laurence's uncle and aunt, to give them some space. She did not want them to embarrass her in front of Laurence's colleagues, so she decided to avoid them for the better.

Although, Laurence did not appreciate Marianne being his wife. She still wanted to leave a good impression in front of his comrades.

Marianne took out her mobile phone from her bag to see the time but to saw that there were four missed calls from Diana.

(Oh No. I forgot to tell Diana about Laurence's accident!)

She decided to send a message to Diana for the time being.

💬 Laurence had an accident. So I am in the Military Hospital. Sorry for running away without telling you anything.

Diana's message popped up on her mobile in just a minute.

💬 Are you ok? If you need me, I can drop by.

💬 It's fine Diana. I can manage on my own.

Nearly three hours have passed but there was still no sign of a Doctor coming out of the Operation Theatre.

Laurence's Uncle, Henry Gerardo, started getting very impatient and demanded to talk with the authorities.

Why is it taking so much time?! What happened to Laurence?!

Brian Jenson (Laurence's Secretary)

Calm down Mr. Gerardo. The General is going to be fine. The Doctors are doing their best to treat him.

How can I stay calm?! *Shouts*

My Nephew does everything for this country but no one bothered to save him when he was in danger!

Mr. Thompson (Major General)

Mr. Gerardo what you're assuming is quite wrong. His comrades tried to help him take down the enemy. They were the ones who took him to the hospital as well.

But before the word could leave his mouth, the door of the Operation Theatre opened, and Dr. Shawn Walker came outside.

Marianne didn't waste any time and hurriedly went towards the Doctor who was now removing his mask.

Doctor, how is Laurence? Is he alright?!

Dr. Shawn Walker

He is out of danger.

Dr. Shawn Walker

Although the injuries on his lower abdomen will take time to heal. There is nothing serious to worry about which can affect his health permanently.

*sigh in relief*

Marianne wiped some tears away from her eyes. Till now, everything had been so overwhelming for her, but she was relieved after hearing that Laurence was fine.

When can we see him?

Dr. Shawn Walker

He will wake up within 8 hours. Till then, all of you can rest in the Hospital's waiting room.

Brian Jenson (Laurence's Secretary)

However, I want one of the family members to come up and follow me so that I can assign them the medicines needed for the General's fast recovery.

Henry Gerardo (Laurence's Uncle)

I think it's more reasonable for me to go since Laurence likes to spend most of his time in our house whenever he comes back to City Rowan.

The bold statement created an awkward silence in the hallway.

Marianne had never felt so embarrassed as she had felt in that particular moment. Lawrence's uncle could have said it nicely still he chose to use his words against her.
