The Successors

Time: 12:48 AM (present time)

“We go on my signal” Andre whispers.

Charlotte nods her head in agreement.

“I get the bald guy and you get the guy with the buzz cut,”

“Got it” Charlotte responds

Five seconds pass by. The people on guard duty are now facing the street. Andre gives her the signal, then they jump off the 1.5-story building. Charlotte jumps on top of the bald guy’s back putting him in a rear ***** choke. Andre throws and lands a right-hand neck chop at the other guy, knocking him unconscious. 3 seconds later, Charlotte manages to choke the bald guy out.

ANDRONIUM: “ I’ll pick up those two and bring ‘em back to the car, you give Baehler the signal.” He says quietly.

Charlotte: “ On it,” She says in a low voice.

She gives Detective Baehler the signal that the alley is clear.

“Alright boys, She gave the signal, time to move in.” Detective Baehler says to the officers. They begin to quietly move into the alleyway where the building is. 7 minutes later, all of the officers are in position.

Time: 12:55 AM

REY TORO: “That’s it, I ain’t waitin no more. Faruq, tell your boss he can kiss my ***. Let’s go boys.”

He walks out the door with his henchmen following behind him.

“Hands up” Detective Baehler demands.

Rey Toro’s eyes begin to widen. He sees that the area is surrounded by officers.

REY TORO: “What the” he says, with a flustered look on his face. He gets interrupted.

Detective Baehler: “Do as I say. All of you”

REY TORO: “ lemme see your warrant first”

Detective Baehler: “ I do have a warrant, we informed the property owner that we would search this house. What does that have to do with you guys being here?” He says while pointing the gun at him.

REY TORO: “ I have the right to remain silent don’t I?” He says while slowly raising both of his hands.

After he does, the rest of his crew begin to raise their hands and surrender.

Detective Baehler: “ You’re correct, but that doesn't mean it always benefits you to do so.”

Pedro Gonzalez: “ We’ve got a rat among us.” He says to Rey Toro, with his hands in the air.

“I wonder who it could be?” One of his henchmen says sarcastically while taking off his gang’s jacket. He tosses the jacket at Rey Toro’s face in an attempt to rile him up.

“You can have it back now, Mr. Alvarez.” The man says. He walks over towards Detective Baehler, turns around, and stands right beside him.

REY TORO: “ You cocky son of a bitch” he says with a smirk on his face.

Pedro Gonzalez: “ Who the **** do you think you are disrespecting Rey Toro like that!? How dare y-”

REY TORO: “ Tranquilizate Pedro, You're only making things worse.”

“ You should listen to your leader,” The traitor says.

“ Ain’t talking to you asshole,” Pedro responds.

“ Oh, and to answer your question, Pedro, my real name is Carlos Herrera, I work for the FBI.” The traitor says.

Nobody answers him. While members of Los Toros were being questioned, FBI Officers had started entering the building.

Mr. Radford: “ Everybody freeze! This is the FBI. Do not resist.”

Faruq Johnson: “Shit, this sucks,” he says in a disappointed tone.

He puts his hands up and surrenders. The other members follow. Agent Radford notices the snake illustration on the back of all of their jackets.

“You guys are members of The Mambas right?” Mr. Radford asks.

No one answers.

“Which one of you goes by the name Shadow Viper?”

The room remains silent.

Agent Radford: “OK, So this is how it’s gonna be? Alright, I’ll just cut to the chase then. All of you are gonna be temporarily taken into custody, the next day you will all be questioned. If we feel as if you gave us useful intel, we’ll cut the time of your potential sentence, we may even remove your sentence altogether. Does That sound good?”

Once again, he gets no response.

“Put ‘em in cuffs,” Agent Radford says while walking towards the door. Meanwhile, Agent Herrera and Detective Baehler wrap up questioning Los Toros outside the building.

Agent Herrera: “ You do know that if you give us valuable intel, we’ll cut time off your sentence, right? And besides if you don’t, we’ll most likely come for your children, Nina and Julio next.

REY TORO: “ You think I should be worried about them? Those two are far more intelligent and cunning than I ever was. They are more than ready to stand on their own two feet.” He says while being walked to the cop car in handcuffs.

Detective Baehler: “ Is that so?”

REY TORO: “ You pigs underestimate us…That is your weakness, and that weakness will be the cause of your very own downfall.”

Detective Baehler: “ We’ll see about that.” He responds.

Soon after that, all gang members were put into cop cars. They are currently being taken to the police station, where they will spend the night. Meanwhile, Detective Baehler, Agent Radford, Herrera, Valentine, and ANDRONIUM go back to Headquarters.

Detective Baehler: “ Congrats guys on another successful mission.”

Charlotte: “ We should head to the bar and celebrate.”

Agent Radford: “ Sure”

Agent Herrera: “ I like the sound of that”

Detective Baehler: “ Me too.”

ANDRONIUM: “ I’ll pass”

Charlotte: “ Why not?”

ANDRONIUM: “ I just don’t feel like it,” He says, bleakly looking out the car window.

Charlotte: “OK, do whatever you like.” She says, seemingly pissed off.

Charlotte didn’t like how Andre’s attitude always killed her mood. Her childhood wasn’t so pleasant either. That is why she is so outgoing, and why she tries to make the most of her life now. Unlike Andre, who has let the past dictate his character, and his perspective on life. After this, the car ride went silent for a while.

Detective Baehler: “ So, how did you get them to trust you?” He asks Carlos.

Agent Herrera: “ I was their caterer, whenever there was a group meeting, gathering, or party. I was the one who bought the food. And whenever any of them needed spare change or cash, I always volunteered to give it to them to gain trust.”

Agent Radford: “ Effective, but probably very costly.” He comments.

Agent Herrera: “ Yeah, I probably lost about 1,000 dollars due to it.” He says with a smile, hiding his bitterness about it.

Detective Baehler: “ Don’t worry Herrera, I’ll have a chat with Chief Kales and make sure you get a fitting bonus for your contributions.”

Agent Herrera: “ Thanks man,” he says with a smile.

Detective Baehler: “ No problem,” he says smiling as well.

Time: 1:10 A.M.

Location: Alvarez Residence, Haverstraw, NY

Nina Alvarez: “ Julio, come over here.”

He walks over to Nina on the computer.

Julio Alvarez: “ What’s the matter?” He responds.

Nina Alvarez: “ Good thing I planted a miniature GPS tracker in his jacket. This tracker shows that Dad is going in the opposite direction of our house. This either means he’s been kidnapped. Or, he’s been captured by the police.”

Julio Alvarez: “ Probably taken into custody by police.”

Nina Alvarez: “ Yeah, I figured.”

Julio Alvarez: “ Someone betrayed us.” He says with a serious look.

Nina Alvarez: “ Any idea of who it might be?”

Julio Alvarez: “ I think I know who it is. The new guy that was recruited two months ago. He went by the name Manuel. I doubt that’s his real name. He was probably an FBI agent working undercover. I was always skeptical of him, but Dad seemed to trust him. I should have just trusted my gut.” He says with a remorseful and upset tone.

Nina Alvarez: “ Well, whoever this guy is, we’ll hunt ‘em down, And make them pay.”

Julio Alvarez: “ Oh, they’ll pay alright.” He says sinisterly.

Nina Alvarez: “ Now where should we flee for the time being? They're probably comin for us next.”

Julio Alvarez: “ Let’s go to Philly. We’ll stay there for a month or two then come back here. Pablo will be the one in charge for now. We’ll still be watching over them while we’re away, But Pablo will be the one giving the orders. The plan sound good to you?”

Nina Alvarez: “ Yeah, let’s start packing up.”

“ On it” Julio responds.

Julio Alvarez: “ It’s time to get serious, Nina. Soon we’ll be the active co-leaders of Los Toros. We are Dad’s successors. A new Era is beginning. Soon we'll put Los Toros on the map. We’ll gain a notorious reputation in New York, gaining popularity. Then soon, we’ll be controlling New York from the underground.”
