Aiden doesn't just wake up on his bedroom floor next to an empty bottle of whiskey, he regains consciousness.

He pushes himself up—just barely. His limbs feel flimsy, and his mouth tastes like death itself.

Aiden

God, damn it...

Aiden clenches his head.

Yesterday was rough and gave him enough reason to drink the night away.

Not that he needed a reason. This was his everyday.

Aiden

Coffee...

He stands up, hunched over, and head still in his hands.

Everything hurt. Pain booms behind his eyes.

He staggers to the kitchen and makes his way to the coffee machine, slippers scrapping against hardwood.

His robe slips off one shoulder as he reaches for his mug and places it on the machine, but he didn't care.

Aiden

What a night...

Aiden lifts the fresh cup of coffee to his face and takes a deep breath.

Aiden

That's the stuff.

He shuffles out the kitchen to the living room.

Just as he drops onto the couch—

Ding-dong~

Aiden furrows his eyebrows and ignores it, sipping his coffee and turning on the news.

DING-DING-DING-DING-DIN—

Aiden

Argh, for God's sake!

Aiden shuts off the TV and beelines for the front door.

Aiden

It's a weekend...

He swings the door open angrily.

Aiden furrows his eyebrows.
