Mining tunnels

After cleaning up the place up  he went back to his post .

Nothing else happened that night , after the midnight Miya came and took his place , Shayan went back to the camp and went right to sleep to rest up for tomorrow .

The night was peaceful, he slept till morning .

Waking up starting to prepare his armor and taking down the tent , they had there breakfast.

When they where prepared they left there camp area , it took them one hour by foot to get to the mining tunnels.

Once there, the captain had a word with them.

"These mining tunnels where used to have a lot of iron it was almost an entire mountain of iron even now there is some deposit left deep inside but since it was too deep it became hard to mine so they stopped more than a hundred years ago."

" The tunnel system is too complex without a map its very easy to get lost in there , so we will stay together don't get away from the group , or if you get lost it's gonna be really troublesome to find you again"

Said the captain to the team seeing them nod there heads he continued .

" And there are also beasts and there might be beast solders inside , we need to be careful, venomous creatures usually lurk in these tunnels so don't get bitten , everyone understand ?" declared the captain.

" Yes captain"

"Yes sir"

"As you say"

"By your will"

The team answered

"Now roll out" ordered the captain.

With Harold at the front , the captain in the back the two girls and Shayan in the middle they went into the tunnels.

Since the tunnels were too complex the captain didn't let Miya to scout , so she was stationed in the middle with the other two .

Going through the complex tunnels , there was clear sign of humans from not too long ago , there seems to have been fights happening.

' There must have been a huge number of monsters here , so the army sent solders to clean this place of monsters , from the dried  blood on the floor and the walls,  it must have been less than a month  ago that this happened '

Thinking that Shayan relaxed a bit more, continuing on there way they encountered small beasts , which were taken care of easily , Shayan took care of some of them too which gave him EXP . 'just one more beast to kill and i will level up nice'

Walking a bit more the captain warned them " i can feel a strong presence up ahead be careful and ready to fight in moments notice " seeing everyone nod they walked forward to there was an opening up ahead .

"Scarlet lit the place up" said the captain , scarlet nods and started to chant a strange language in low voice opening her hand a ball of light manifested lighting up the opening .

A growl was heard , on the wall a reptile like creature 4 meters long with its entire body was covered with green scales , jumping down from the wall standing on two legs going as high as three and a half meters towering over them , with a 1.5 meter long tail , mouth full of sharp teeth , and yellow eyes glowing in the dark , sharp claws.

" Its a reptilian , it's a beast solder almost as strong as a beast general , be careful of the tail Harold defend from the attacks , Scarlet Chant a strong attack , Miya attack when the opportunity arrives , Shayan protect scarlet while she is chanting i will attack from the front."

Ordered the captain , without speaking everyone positioned themselfs Shayan and Scarlet in the back Harold protecting them from the front, the captain both two blades in hands he was getting ready to attack, Miya hid herself in shadows waiting for an opportunity .

The battle was about to begin .

Gripping his blades tightly , the captain Charged full speed , all Shayan could see was after images charging before getting into attack range he suddenly disappeared reappearing by the side of the reptilian , slashing both blades down where the tail is connected to the body.

Seeing that , the beast wanted to attack the human with its claws , but an arrow arrived from the left about to hit it's eye , it could only protect the eyes and let it's tail be slashed , it didn't seem too concerned about its tail it was confident in its scales defense .

A painful growl came out of it's mouth , captain attack cut through a quarter of the tail but couldn't go further , he didn't attack again and backed away right when the beast wanted to give chase a fire ball came hit it in the face , thrown of balance it fell down .

When the dust settled captain said " be careful this is not enough to finish it off "  observing the beast it was still alive , but this time it didn't get back up on its two feet but rather stayed on all fours , it was angry , it had underestimated these humans , but now its going all out.

The beast started to charge full speed for the captain hit him , but what it had hit was a rock the captain jumped up the wall , hitting the wall to jump away from there because he saw another fireball coming there way , the fireball hit the beast from the back this time the beast was burning in fury.

Disregarding the human next to it , started to charge at the human that burned two times wanting to eat the human whole , just when about to reach there another human with a shield abstracted it , the reptilian didn't slow down but rather sped up even more .

Charging at full speed , hitting the human in front of it but the scene it wanted to see didn't happen , the human completely absorbed the attack and only going back for two meters , it was like hitting a hard wall.

The beast was stopped its charging momentum was stopped completely , swiftly turning around and hitting the human with the shield again , this tale strike was stopped too what angered it even more was another fireball hit it right in the face.

"NOW" the captain yelled and attacked the tail again where he had hit it again this time using his full force , completely cutting the tail off .

The tail of reptilians are where there weak spot is , once cut off they will not even be able to exert half of there strength.

The beast opened its mouth and roared out of pain just as it was about to close its mouth an arrow went inside the mouth , it didn't hurt as much as the reptilian thought , and then BOOM half of the face was gone .

It was an explosive arrow that the military gives to them , but supplies are limited she was only given three explosive arrows .

the beast swayed left and right to slowly fall to the ground with a boom , twitching for a few seconds before stopped moving completely, it was dead .

"Nice one Miya " said captain, everyone gave her a thumbs up.

Shayan was  amazed , from start to finish he didn't do anything just standing there watching everything unfold like an idiot ,' do they really need me in this group? clearly they can do without me just fine, i really feel useless here '.

While shayan was in thought , the captain started to dig through the tough skin of the beast but it was much easier now , it seemed to have softened quite a  bit , after a while the captain dug up a black golden round rock from the abdominal section of the dead body.
