Chapter one : An Ex prince

Cheers were heard from a distance in a field in the city of Lykort, a fairly large and beautiful city. There are many lush forests and fertile soil. The cheers got louder after one person came forward and another person, with compulsion, also came forward. The two of them looked at each other and smirked.

"Come on!!" several shouts cheered one of the people in front.

Kei Lyroso, a sixteen year old teenager who has come forward amidst the people who have made a circle around him. In front of him was Cayden Heron who had also stood in the middle of the people.

"So Kei? do you want to fight with me or you will go home and be a coward forever." sneered Cayden.

Kei didn't sneer back. He just stared coldly at Cayden who laughed mockingly with his friends.

"Oh look at him. Looks like he's angry." sneered Cayden again. All of his friends started laughing loudly.

"Stop all this and give me back my book Cayden." said Kei finally.

"Ahhh... this junk book?" Cayden held up a book in his hand. "Do you want this book? Take it then. But you have to fight me first, you coward."

Kei was silent again. He knew Cayden wouldn't return the book that easily but he wanted it back, the book his brother left him. He thought hard about how he could get his hands on the book without having to fight Cayden. Kei took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

"Oh look, it looks like he's praying." Cayden sneered again, his friends laughing. "Pray that you'll stay intact when we fight. Fine then."

Cayden took off the shirt he was wearing and revealed his tough and toned muscles. For a sixteen-year-old, having a body like Cayden's shape was extraordinary. Cayden stretched his arms and legs, then his neck.

"Are you ready Kei?" Cayden grinned happily and immediately turned into a very large wolf with thick gray fur. Cayden howled loudly. Cayden's friends cheered. Only Kei and his two friends were silent.

"Kei, do you really want to fight him? are you sure?" whispered one of Kei's friends, Tim. Kei didn't answer. Kei was still silent and closed his eyes. He wanted to calm down and focus. He didn't want the mistakes he had made as a child to repeat once more.

"I don't want to fight Cayden." Kei finally said and gave up on getting his book back. Kei opened his eyes. "Let's go."

Kei and his two friends, Tim and Ruben, turned and walked away from Cayden. An angry Cayden jumped high and landed right in front of Kei. Tim and Ruben were shocked and immediately stood behind Kei. Cayden growled angrily. Saliva came out of his mouth. Kei just stared at Cayden coldly and with no fear on his face. Cayden lowered his body slightly, preparing to lunge at Kei. Cayden growled again and jumped at Kei. Tim and Ruben were already covering their heads with their hands. Kei prepared to transform himself while Cayden was still in the air. Just before Cayden touched Kei, Cayden was knocked aside. There were already other werewolve there. The wolf growled loudly at Cayden. Cayden immediately got up and growled back. Cayden was not afraid of the wolf that attacked him. Cayden jumped up and attacked the wolf whose body was slightly bigger than him. The two wolves fought. Cayden ran his sharp claws at the wolf's body and tried to bite it. But the wolf was no match for Cayden. The other wolf is stronger. The light brown wolf slammed into Cayden. Cayden got up and tried to attack again, but still couldn't beat the brown wolf. The wolf's head slammed Cayden hard. Cayden lay on the ground. His breath sounded exhausted. The brown wolf jumped up and was now on top of the tired Cayden wolf's body. The brown wolf growled harshly.

"If you dare to bother Kei again, I will tear your little wolf body apart and I don't care whose child you are." said the wolf with his mind.

Cayden heard the brown wolf's thought voice. The wolf let go of his grip and Cayden immediately ran out of the field with all his friends. The wolf still looked at Cayden who had disappeared from his sight then turned to Kei who was still standing where he was.

The wolf then turned into a handsome man with brown and slightly long hair. The man is shirtless. You can see his strong stomach muscles. He walked towards a fairly large rock on the side of the field and then came to Kei.

"Are you all right?" asked the man as he put on his shirt. Kei who had started walking stopped for a moment and only glanced at him and then walked away. "Hey...!!"

Kei walked away with Tim and Ruben.

"Can't you walk slower? Why are you walking so fast?" asked the man who had followed Kei. Kei didn't answer the man and kept walking even faster. Even his two friends have now been left behind.

"Wow you really are very fast." praise the man. Kei suddenly stopped and turned around.

"Can you unfollow me?" Kei asked coldly. "Stop following like a lost puppy."

"Yeah sure, when you get home safely, I'll stop following you." said the man. Kei looked at him more annoyed than he looked at Cayden.

"You really are annoying." Kei continued his brisk walk again.

"Well I've heard that before." said the man who was still trying to align himself with Kei. "Hey, shouldn't you be thanking me? I helped you."

"I never asked you to help me." Kei replied coldly without stopping walking and turning his head.

"That's right." the man nodded his head. "But can you deal with that spoiled brat?"

"I can handle it."

"By staying silent when he attacks you? I guess--"

"Aaarrggghhhh....!!!!" Kei suddenly shouted making the man and his two friends who were walking some distance behind him startled. "Can't you just shut up?! And stop following!!!"

"You know I can't even if I wanted to. If you really want me to go, ask your parents."

Kei snorted angrily at the man in front of him. He was so annoyed that the man in front of him always interfered in his affairs, making him a child who was ostracized by the other children and labeled a coward. Moreover, the man never left her side, rendering her unable to move freely.

"Are you angry?" asked the man. The man lookedat Kei's face which was red with anger. Kei turned her face away. Suddenly the man smiled widely and immediately wrapped his right hand around Kei's neck.

"AAAKKHH...!!! the funny thing! When you're angry, you're the cutest kid I've ever met." said the man happily.

Kei screamed and struggled, trying to free the man's hand. But the man's grip just got stronger. The man's left hand ruffled Kei's thick black hair and pinched Kei's cheek. He didn't care about Kei who was already screaming hysterically, swearing and even banging his hands. Ruben and Tim laughed amusedly. Suddenly the man stopped and saw that there were two girls of Kei's age in front of them.

"Hi, girls..." said the man while ruffling Kei's hair. His right hand is still on Kei's neck. Kei quickly looked at the two girls who had been laughing amused seeing Kei. Kei lowered her head in shame.

"He's cute isn't he?" asked the man to the two girls in front of him while pinching Kei's cheeks in annoyance. The two girls laughed even more and walked away from them.

"See? They just think you're cute and adorable." said the man, ignoring Kei who was already extremely embarrassed.

Kei managed to let go of the man's hand and move away from him a little. He looked angrily at the man in front of him.

"Let's walk again..." The man looked at Kei then he leaned his face in front of Kei's face. "... Sweet and cute Kei."

The man walked away laughing. Tim and Ruben passed Kei with amused laughter.

"IAAAAANNNNN....!!!!!!!" Kei shouted calling the man's name.

Kei lazily went down to the dining room. His mother had called him for dinner. But Kei wasn't in the mood tonight. He didn't want to eat dinner and just wanted to stay in his room. But her mother promised if he didn't come down for dinner together, she would lock himup for a week. Kei didn't want that to happen. Finally Kei agreed to have dinner.

There was already his father, Oston, in the dining room sitting at the dining table. Kei's father is wearing a brown sweater and glasses. His hair is thick black just like Kei's hair. Kei sat next to his father. His father smiled when he saw his son had come down and sat beside him. There was the sound of cheerful footsteps. Kei's sister, Aira who is ten years old, comes and sits next to her brother.

"Wow, this time Aira came alone without being called, great child." praise his father. She smiled proudly.

"Sure..." his mother also praised. Kei's mother sat next to her father as well.

"How was your school today Kei?" his father asked.

"School is school. What do you expect?" Kei said coldly.

"Kei, don't talk to your father like that!" protested his mother. Kei's father touched his wife's hand.

"It doesn't matter." Kei's father comforted his wife.

"He'll keep talking to you like that, honey."

"He's going through puberty, let it go." said Kei's father. "I used to be like that too. I like to do whatever I like and don't care what other people say. Even my parents." His father laughed remembering his youth. Kei's mother just sighed.

Kei eats in silence. He didn't even really listen to what his family had to say. His family laughed every now and then. Only Kei was silent. His father watched Kei who was always silent. His father notices Kei's changes. The warm and cheerful Kei turned cold overnight since that incident. His father tried to stay close and friendly with Kei, but Kei continued to distance himself and shut him down.

Kei arrived at his schoolyard. Kei attends Royale Lykort High School. Kei is a smart kid. He is reluctant to make friends other than Tim and Ruben who have been friends with him since childhood. So if Ruben and Tim weren't there, his friends would be his books. Kei is also very popular among the girls at his school because of his good looks. "Just give it back, I don't want it." said Kei coldly.

"Stop staring at him." said Ruben who found Kei looking at Cayden.

"I didn't stare at him." Kei said lying.

"Seriously. I saw you staring at him the whole time. Your eyeball almost popped out of it." Ruben knew Kei was lying.

"I just don't like it."

"Normal people don't like him, Kei. But if you don't stop staring at him, everyone will think you're attracted to him." Reuben suggested. "Or maybe you're... interested in him?"

Kei turned and looked at Ruben angrily.

"Do you want to die? I will gladly kill you."

Reuben laughed. It wasn't long before Tim arrived with three large trays of food that he could barely carry.

"When did you ever have an appetite in the canteen? Every time we offered food, you always didn't want to." said Tim irritably. He took Kei's right hand and put the spoon on his finger. "Just eat even if it doesn't taste good. I'm tired of carrying all this."

"I told you I don't want to eat. You just push. I'm like a child now." said Kei. Kei finally complied. He was lazy to argue with Tim, because it was certain that he would lose.

"Hi Kei.." a greeting voice stopped Kei who was about to spoon his food into his mouth. Kei turned and found a beautiful girl standing next to him. Kei looked at the girl then turned his face and started his first bite. The girl looked nervous.

"Hi Lyra..." It was Tim who finally answered Lyra's greeting.

"Hey Tim." Lyra replied to Tim. She was a little disappointed that it wasn't Kei who replied. "Kei, are you busy on Saturday?"

Kai was silent for a moment. "Maybe." he finally answered. Kei still put his food in his mouth without looking at Lyra.

"Uhmm... Do you-" Before Lyra finished speaking, Kei immediately stood up and took the tray with a lot of food away, without answering Lyra. Lyra looked down. Tim and Ruben panicked at the sadness and disappointment on Lyra's face.

"Uhm... Lyra.. Wait a minute, let me persuade Kei first." Tim ran towards Kei who had already disappeared from his sight.

"Uh wait for me." Reuben ran along. He didn't want to be stuck in an awkward situation alone.

"Lyra how is Kei?" asked Tim.

"What about her?"

"What's going on? She was about to say something. Why did you leave?"

"I'm not in the mood to listen to a girl's request." Kei said as he walked away.

"You cold wolf! If you continue like that, you won't be able to have a girlfried!" Tim was getting annoyed with Kei's cold attitude.

"That's good then, so I don't have to take care of girls." Kei answered casually. The team sighed in exasperation.

"What about mate?" asked Reuben.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You don't want to have a mate too?"

"I don't know, maybe." Kei said as he walked away.

"Why do I have a friend who is colder than the peak of Everest." Tim slapped his forehead. Meanwhile Ruben was already stroking Tim's back to calm him down.

"Stop talking about that. I'm tired of hearing that." said Kei finally.

Kei rolled his eyes and turned to leave Cayden. He wasn't in the mood for serving Cayden's annoying attitude.

"Are you going to keep running, ex prince?" Cayden started with his words to make Kei angry.

"Don't bother me Cayden." said Kei.

"Don't bother me Cayden." Cayden imitated Kei's words but in a mocking tone. All his friends laughed. "Stop running away cowardly, fight me."

Kei ignored it. He still walks with his friends. An annoyed Cayden ran and stopped right in front of Kei.

"It's a good thing Lykort no longer has a prince like you." Cayden looked at Kei sharply. Kei just stared at him blankly. He was trying his best not to get carried away.

"Stop Cayden, don't bother Kei." said Tim finally. Tim knew even very well that Kei didn't want to fight with Cayden. Cayden turned to Tim and looked annoyed.

"Don't meddle in my business." said Cayden coldly. He does not like ordinary people who interfere in his affairs. Especially ordinary human.

"Then don't meddle in other people's business." Tim stared intently. He knew he shouldn't be dealing with someone like Cayden, moreover he knew Cayden was a werewolf who was definitely much stronger than him. But he was sick of seeing Cayden not stop bothering Kei. "Stop Cayden, I beg you. He could die." said Ruben. Cayden turned.

"Would you like to replace him?" asked Cayden. Ruben lowered his head. He knew he wouldn't be able to fight Cayden even though he was a werewolf too. Cayden pushed Ruben's body away from him and returned to Tim who was already standing in a daze. Cayden tugged at Tim's collar.

"I will kill you today." whispered Cayden. Tim's face was full of fear. His body was shaking. He knew he would die today. A hand touched Cayden's hand.

"Stop it." Kei said flatly. Cayden slapped Kei's hand and removed his hand from Tim's collar.

"Someone seems brave." Cayden smiled sinisterly.

"Oh there's Lyra and Keyra..." said one of Cayden's friends. They all turned.

"Hey Lyra, Hi Keyra." said Cayden who suddenly turned sweet. Kei just stayed where he was, he didn't even turn around to look the twin girl.

"What are you doing there?" asked Keyra and came to them.

"Ahh...notihing." Cayden turned Kei's body to face the two girls and wrapped his left hand around Kei's neck. Kei could only gnash his grahams and snort in annoyance. "Only men's business. Where are you guys going?"

"Go home of course. Hi Kei." said Lyra but Kei didn't reply, just averted her eyes.

"Hey didn't you hear? Lyra said hello!" said Keyra.

"So?" Kei asked coldly. Kira's face immediately changed to annoyance.

"Never mind, ignore this ex prince. Do you want me to take you?" bargained Cayden.

"No, we're fine." An annoyed Keyra turned around and pulled her twin sister's hand. "Let's go Lyra." said her annoyed and immediately left from there.

Kei removed Cayden's hand from his shoulder. He went straight to Tim and carried him. Cayden suddenly pulled Kei's back shirt and pushed him hard.

"Who said you could go?" said Cayden. Kei who fell to the ground immediately stood up.

"I'm sick of you Cayden. Get out of my life!!" said Kei angrily.

"No, you are the one who should out of my life, get out of here. No one needs you here. You're not a prince anymore, you're just an outcast." Cayden laughed. "And don't forget to take your disabled father away."

Kei is getting angry. He doesn't like it when someone insults his family. Kei shouted loudly and ran towards Cayden then pushed his body hard. Cayden was blown away but quickly caught himself from falling. Cayden smiled triumphantly. He finally managed to make Kei angry. So far Cayden has always bothered Kei just to make him angry and turn Kei into a wolf. Kei can always contain his emotions, making Cayden almost desperate. But today Cayden knew, Kei could still lose control once again. Cayden ran and threw his fist at Kei. Kei dodged quickly. Cayden continued to throw his fists, occasionally launching kicks even though none of them hit Kei.

"Fight me coward. Don't dodge. Hit me!!" Cayden tries to make Kei angrier and it works. Kei hit Cayden in the face. Cayden fell and immediately got up and ran quickly towards Kei. Cayden hit Kei's face and hit Kei's left cheek. Kei's body floated after Cayden kicked him in the stomach. They still haven't turned into wolves. Cayden is still waiting for Kei to change. But Kei still didn't want to change. He could still hold back his emotions. Kei got up and immediately pushed Cayden's body hard into a large tree near them. Kei pressed Cayden's body against the tree. Cayden tried to break free. But Kei was so hard on him. The tree was starting to crack and was already starting to break on the sides. Kei's urge began to weaken. That gave Cayden a chance. Cayden stepped forward slowly then hit Kei in the face and kicked him. Kei fell on the ground.

"Is that all? Why don't you take out the monster?" Cayden started again. Cayden pulled Kei's collar and lifted Kei's body so that Kei's face was level with his.

"Cayden Heron Laros, Kei Lyroso Laros... stop!!" said a deep voice behind them. They all turned. Cayden and Kei's dad was already there with Ian. "What are you doing? What's this?" asked Ordovic, Cayden's father.

Cayden removed his hand from Kei and smoothed his hair and dirty school uniform. Kei also did the same. All of Cayden and Kei's friends had already bowed their heads.

"Kei, what's this?" asked Oston, Kei's father.

"Nothing." said Kei while lowering his head.

Kei and Cayden share the same last name. Ordovic and Oston are siblings who make Kei and Cayden cousins ​​and it is Kei's worst nightmare.

"We were just playing around. Nothing serious." replied Cayden.

Oston watched Kei's face. There was a cut on his forehead and his sleeve was torn.

"Stop playing around and go home." Ordovic orders. Kei and Cayden nodded.

"Ian, can you help me?" asked Kei's father.

"Of course sir." said Ian. Kei's father asked Ian to be with Kei.

"Let's go again my brother." said Cayden's father. "Cayden, you come with dad and send your friends home."

Cayden's father and Kei left Kei, while Cayden followed his father from behind. Ian pointed two fingers at his eyes and then at Cayden. Cayden just smirked.

Kei cleaned his dirty clothes while Cayden's friends were gone.

"Are you okay Kei?" asked Ruben who was carrying Tim. Kei nodded.

"I'm fine. How about Tim?" Kei looked at Tim's condition. There was blood on his lips. Apparently he was hit really hard.

"I'm fine." said Tim, trying to smile and endure the pain at the same time.

"I really don't understand. What's with that spoiled brat? Why is he always bothering people? Too bad I'm not around. If only..." Ian lightly smacked his fist against the other.

"What are my father doing with him?" Kei asked without paying attention to what Ian said earlier.

"He? ah Ordovic? they're talking about something." Ian replied.

"Isn't it dangerous to leave my father alone with that person? Then why are you here? You should be beside my father and protect him from that person."

"Your father told me to be with you. After all, I am your bodyguard, not your father. My father is with your father so there is no need to worry." Ian replied. "But can't you be a little polite? him? that guy? he and that guy are king and alpha Lykort now. I know you hate him, so do I but if the other wolves hear you, they'll catch you."

"I know and I don't care. To me he is the one who took my father's throne underhanded." said Kei.

"I know that but it gives them a reason to get rid of your family."

Kei was silent for a moment then walked away.

"That kid." Ian shook his head.
