Episode 70

As a way to thank each one of you for your kindness towards this story and its beloved characters, here is a little more of our Arabian couple... Yasmim and Samir...

Yasmin

"Zayn, don't climb up there, sweetheart, mommy already said you could hurt yourself!" I approach my little whirlwind of just over 2 years old and crouch down to be at his eye level. "Look, if you climb up, you could lose your balance and end up falling and getting a really big boo-boo, and it will hurt. Do you want that?" He shakes his head, denying. "Then be a well-behaved prince and hold mommy's hand!"

"I want daddy!" He sulks, pouting, looking more and more like his father every day.

"He went to get your little flip-flop that we forgot in the car." I sigh, and soon I feel Samir's strong arm enveloping me, and that husky voice that still gives me chills...

"Why is my little one pouting, may I know?" Zayn immediately jumps into his father's arms.

It's beautiful to see how our son sees Samir as a hero, an example, someone he loves and admires. So much so that he always says that when he grows up he wants to be big and strong just like daddy, and work with a serious face... I always smile at that part because even our little one has noticed Samir's "serious face"!

My Habib's smile wins me over every single day, and even after almost three years together, I love him just as much, if not more, than in the beginning of it all.

We're on a family trip, and I have the pleasure of enjoying the sight of my husband in more casual clothes than the typical ones he wears in Qatar. But, habits don't change that quickly, so he still wears a cap to cover his head.
