E.P.G.W. (Elemental Powers Gone Wrong)

E.P.G.W. (Elemental Powers Gone Wrong)

The elemental war

Sapphire: Our world was made billions of years ago by the elementals. Humans worshipped these elementals and in return, they gave us the power to warp a specific element. Fire, water, earth and wind. A couple of years ago, a war broke out due to the aries of a fifth element; the dark forces. The elementals couldn't interfere in mortal conflicts, so they chose us to save the world. (Narrating)

Sapphire: And that leaves us here.

Two girls are sitting around a campfire, on logs.

Ruby: I can name like ten things wrong with what you just said.

Sapphire: Oh, come on.

Ruby: Firstly, Buddha made Jaya who made the planet and its guardians; the elementals.

Sapphire: Basically the same thing.

Ruby: No, and next up, the war broke out three years ago, so it can't be a 'couple' of years.

Sapphire: Really? You got the meaning, that's all that matters.

Ruby: A couple means two. A set of two.

Sapphire: Why do you always find the need to be a buzzkill?

Ruby: Also, I'm genuinely shocked at the fact that you got the elemental restrictions correct.

Sapphire: Did you think I was THAT stupid?

Ruby: Yes. Yes I did.

She stretches her limbs.

Ruby: Regardless, we need to find the other two elemental avatars.

Sapphire: Tomorrow?

Ruby: What?

Sapphire: I'm exhausted today.

She gets up and goes to the tent as Ruby soon follows.

A mysterious man observed them from afar, standing on top of the tree.

Raven: They're in range. Shall I eliminate them?

Suddenly a voice enters his mind.

Darkness: Wait. Just remain on the observant.

Raven: Got it.

The next day.

Ruby: What are you doing?

Ruby gets out of the tent, rubbing her eyes.

She looks around and sees Sapphire in front of a metal pot with boiling water.

Sapphire: Cooking.

Ruby: Cooking?

She shows her the pot full of boiling water with thinly sliced mushroom pieces.

Ruby: I didn't know you could cook.

Sapphire chuckles.

Sapphire:I can't.

She looks at the pot.

Sapphire: This is all I can cook. Something my mother taught me eight years ago.

Ruby: How's the water boiling? There's no fire.

Sapphire: Oh. I'm using my elemental powers to move the water molecules quickly, bringing the water to a boil.

Ruby: (That's… smart.)

Meanwhile,

Solider: Sir. A dark troop's been spotted nearby. What should we do?

General: Prepare Pearl… and the others.

A knight with dark armour flies towards a sit direction but stops when he notices a girl standing in the middle of a field, wearing light clothing and quietly blowing a whistle.

He lands in front of the girl but gets taken aback at seeing her presence.

Dark troop: Who are you?

Pearl: Do I need an introduction?

He slices his arm in half using an air slash, before his eye could even blink.

Dark troop: (This animal!)

Pearl: This will be over soon anyways.

She blasts him into a newly made tornado, which he destroys using a dark ball.

He launches another energy attack at her, but she dodges it with little to no effort.

Back.

Sapphire: So what now?

Ruby: Wait.

She closes her eyes, clenching her fist.

Sapphire: What are you doing?

Ruby: Sensing aura.

She points in a direction.

Ruby: This way.

Sapphire: Let's go then.

They start walking in that direction.

Sapphire: How'd you do that?

Ruby: Us avatars have larger aura and better aura sensing capabilities.

Sapphire: Wha?

Ruby: Didn't the water elemental tell you?

Sapphire: He probably did.

She starts laughing, rubbing her nose.

Sapphire: You think I paid attention?

Ruby: Valid.

Pearl quietly gazes at the dark troop, before slowly whistling.

A few dozen air users appear behind him, blasting him away using a strong gust of wind.

Pearl: Sonic slash..

She slashes the air two times, creating two air slashes, which hit him, forming a small explosion.

Pearl: Air snipe.

She puts her fingers in a gun pose and it blasts a bullet made out of super dense air, at the speed of sound, ripping a hole through his head.

Pearl cleans some dust off her shoulders before walking to the fading body.

Pearl: He was way too weak. Nothing but a spy.

She turns around, still holding her stoic look.

Pearl: If anyone else arrives, make sure I'm the first to know.

Air user: Got it.

She blasts off as the air users soon follow.

Ruby: Here we are.

They clear some bushes and make it to the battlefield.

Sapphire: What happened here?

Ruby: I... dunno.

They watch an already destroyed and empty battlefield with confused expressions.

Sapphire: Do you sense it?

Ruby: The aura is strongest here. The avatar was here and must still be nearby.

Sapphire: So we need to search for them?

Ruby nods.

As they get out of the forest, another dark user with a red purple aura lands on top of the battlefield.

Sapphire: A dark user.

Dark solider: He did good enough. Death was all he was worth.

He glances and then glares at the two of them.

Suddenly, without a warning, he grabs Ruby by the neck and prepares a dark blade from his other hand.

He is about to stab her when he notices his hand is frozen.

He breaks the ice but Ruby blasts him back using fire released from her feet.

Sapphire: Eat this.

She launches a few ice spikes at him but he breaks them using his fists.

Suddenly the ice fragments turn into water and hit his body, making his whole body wet.

Sapphire: Perfect.

He blasts all the water off as she clenches her fists.

The second the water stops touching his body, it all converts to ice spikes.

Ruby: (S-she's a genius... isn't she?)

Sapphire: (I thought I got him for sure. If the water was even a centimeter closer, he'd be dead.)

He blasts an energy ball at Sapphire who tries to block it using three walls of ice, but ends up being too slow, leading to her getting blasted to a tree.

Ruby blasts an endless barrage of fire attacks but a single energy output, immobilizes her completely.

Sapphire: (We're fighting a losing battle.)

She starts to look around and spots a small puddle of water.

Sapphire: Bingo.

The dark soldier slowly starts to walk towards Ruby.

She turns it into an ice spike and launches it up in the air, missing him completely.

As it reaches the clouds, it shatters into hundreds of small water droplets, raining from the sky.

He looks up and scoffs.

Dark solider: What was that supposed to do?

Sapphire: Mark your death.

He appears in front of her, pinning her to a tree and prepares his dark blade.

Dark solider: Brave words for a last statement.

Suddenly, the entire tree, including Sapphire, is uplifted.

He looks up to see the air users and Pearl.

Pearl: Smart move.

She says to Sapphire before blasting a gust of wind down.

He turns to the form of dark energy and appears behind them when Pearl launches thousands of leaves from the trees below, blinding him temporarily.

All the air users work together to form a sonic boom, blasting the dark soldier on top of a hill as Pearl slowly puts herself and Sapphire on the ground right before launching the tree on top of the dark soldier.

Ruby: Are you-

Pearl glances at her direction before nodding.

All three of the elemental avatars group in the middle and get in a battle pose.

Hundreds of dark energy balls fall from the sky, grounding all the air users, clearing all the trees and dealing massive damage.

He blasts down, causing even the dust particles to fly up.

Dark solider: You have proven to be... threatening.

He punches Pearl miles away but she stabilizes herself using her wind based powers.

Dark soldier: Hence must be dealt with first.

She glares at him with a demonic gaze.

Pearl: I don't enjoy conflicts with strong opponents.

She dashes towards him at the speed of sound and hits his face with a super dense ball of air.

Pearl: More of a reason for me to end this quickly.

His mouth starts to bleed as Pearl launches many vacuum blasts at him.

He suddenly does a backflip, barely dodging an ice spike Sapphire launched from the back.

Ruby suddenly appears with her hands fully covered with fire and lands a double axe handed slam to his gut, blasting him to the ground.

Ruby: Now!

An ice spike originates from the ground and goes through his arm.

Ruby puts her hand together and blasts a beam of fire but he vanishes out of thin air.

He appears behind Ruby and slices her arm, leaving a massive scar.

As he is about to land the final blow, Pearl carries Ruby away using a gust of wind.

All the air users try to attack but with a single slash, all of them die.

Pearl launches herself towards him, but using his injured arm he punches her kilometers up.

As her body enters the clouds, a small lighting is formed.

He immediately shifts his attention to Sapphire when it starts to rain.

Dark solider: What?

Pearl: Utilize the intellect you hold.

Sapphire: And they said the fates were fake.

Before he could even react, hundreds of ice spikes pierced his body.

He blasted all of them out and charged, kicking Sapphire to a hill.

As the force shook the hill, a giant flow of water originating from a pond fell down.

The dark soldier got into a battle pose towards the water when he notices Ruby smiling.

He turns around to see Sapphire on top of a Chinese dragon fully made up of water.

Sapphire: See you in hell.

She launches the dragon and it creates a tsunami.

All the water freezes to ice and countless spikes originate, thrusting his body.

Dark solider: This-This isn't over.

Pearl: Oh. But it so is... Storm shifter.

She descends from behind him, holding an entire storm cloud above using one hand right before condensing into it the size of a car and throwing it on top of him.

*Boom*

An ice spike launched from Sapphire, still in the air, goes through his head, killing him.

Pearl: Mrs Sapphire!

As Sapphire slips out of conciseness, she starts to fall down.

Ruby, seeing the sight of Sapphire's downfall, blasts to her direction.

She tackles Sapphire mid-fall and they both land on the wet ground as Ruby also fully faints.

As she slowly opens her eyes, she sees Sapphire sleeping on the bed she is on. Sapphire's entire body besides the hands and head were on the ground.

Ruby slowly strokes Sapphire's hair but jumps when Pearl enters the room.

Pearl gives her a disappointed glare.

Ruby: Hey.

Pearl: Try to remain less on the affectionate side.

Ruby: Ok. How are you doing now?

Pearl: My apologies. I didn't quite get what you mean.

Ruby: Y'know. You saw many of your people well... die.

Pearl: I appreciate your worries but keep in mind. Death awaits everyone. Remaining in grief seems... unnecessary.

Ruby: (Is she really that cold?)

Pearl: Granted; it is a shame our army lost  many men, but to me personally... it's nothing much.

Ruby: What's up with her?

She points at Sapphire.

Pearl: You're blessed to have such trustworthy companionship. She only woke up a few days prior.

She turns around and glares at her with one eye.

Pearl: Yet ever since that she's been taking care of you... without looking after herself.

Ruby gasps.

Pearl: Yesterday you were in critical condition. She not only stood by your side, but was the one who provided us herbs from mountain ranges... all for you.

Ruby: Why? Why would she do that? ... for me?

Pearl: We asked her multiple times... Each time we got the same answer... 'She's my friend.'

Ruby: looks at her sleeping face in shock.

Pearl: You should thank her. Thank the only reason you survived from death's grasp.

Ruby looks are her, conflicted on what to say.

After the passing of some hours.

Sapphire wakes us and starts rubbing her eyes but notices Ruby missing from her bed.

Sapphire: Ruby?

She gets up and starts looking around when she notices a ring with a note attached to it.

She picks the ring and reads.

"Dear Sapphire,

I heard you helped me get better.

And I am really grateful for it. Please take it as a token of appreciation and our friendship.

Love. Ruby"

Sapphire chuckles and puts the ring on.

Sapphire: Must be hard not knowing how to show love.

She examines the ring's design and notices the ring having a wave-like floral pattern with a lily on top. Above the lily, remained a yin and yang pattern. In the ring the pattern was carved by actual gems; ruby and sapphire. Here sapphire was used to carve the yang whereas ruby filled the slot of yin.

She turns around and sees Pearl, leaning against the door frame with her hands crossed, causing her to get flinched.

Pearl: A tangible medium of expressing love?

She scoffs.

Pearl: How cliché.

She sighs before turning back.

She signals Sapphire to follow before leaving the room.

Outside they meet the general.

Pearl: Sir.

She salutes him. His body is old yet still standing strong. One arm fully missing and the rest of the body filled with scars. His left eye is covered with a black eye patch.

He walks up to Sapphire.

Sapphire: Sir.

Sapphire, looking at Pearl, salutes him too (but with the opposite hand) causing him to chuckle.

General: Sapphire. I heard the news. You were a great help in the battle. And I assume you know the war is far from over. I hope you together with the other elemental avatars can stop this war for good.

Sapphire: I-We will.

General: Exactly what I wanted to hear. Now... may we get the blessing to train and refine your skills?

Sapphire: Is Ruby agreeing?

She looks at Pearl who gives a quiet nod as Sapphire smiles.

Sapphire: You bet I am.

General: Excellent. Get ready. It starts tomorrow.

Later that night.

Sapphire walks up to Ruby.

Sapphire: Where've ya been?

They are on a balcony at Pearl's house. A pagoda style classical Japanese tower.

Ruby: I was... training.

Sapphire: Learned a few new tricks?

Ruby: Not... quiet.

Sapphire and Ruby look away, breaking eye contact.

Sapphire: (Should I ask her about the ring?)

She starts fiddling her figures.

Ruby: (Should I mention the herbs?)

She starts to grip the wall.

Sapphire: (Does she wanna talk about it tho?)

She glances over at the ring shining from the moonlight.

Ruby: (Wouldn't it come out of the blue?)

Sapphire: (Why am I over-thinking?)

Ruby: (Maybe she's waiting for me to start a conversation.)

Her scarlet eyes trace Sapphire's hand.

They both take a heavy deep breath and look at one another.

Ruby: Sapphire-

Sapphire: Ruby-

Both their words overlap, cutting one another.

They both look at one another for a second, when Pearl comes to the balcony.

Pearl: It's time to eat.

Both Ruby and Sapphire: (Thank goodness.)

Pearl: You can thank whoever later.

Both Ruby and Sapphire: (Wait. Is she Psychic?) [She said that because she thought they were gonna thank her for inviting them to spend the night.]

Both of them remain bamboozled as Pearl leaves.

The next day.

The three elemental avatars and the general are in front of a waterfall.

Sapphire: What're we doing here?

Ruby: Nothing much.

General: Now. We'll begin with something simple. Four hours of meditating... below the waterfall.

Sapphire: What?

General: Guess you did defeat a member of the dark forces. Four hours might not be enough. Fine, five hours.

She slowly turns Ruby in disbelief.

Sapphire: Did you do this yesterday?

Ruby: Yep.

She sighs.

A few hours later.

All three of them are meditating, and the general continues to watch when a soldier walks up to him.

Solider: Sir. The troops we sent to the destroyed village claim there to be no trace of the dark forces… like they were never there to begin with.

General: How could they just vanish out of thin air?

Solider: What do we do?

General: Tell them to return... and fortify our defenses. Not being able to sense their aura is a massive threat and one we can not mess with.

Solider: Got it sir.

He leaves as the general continues observing.

He uses his wind powers to fly through the waterfall, towards Sapphire and hit her on the back of the head with a wooden Chinese fan.

Sapphire: Ouch.

She grabs her head in pain.

General: Using your powers to stop the water from hitting you. Creative. Well leave it for later. Here we train our body, mind and soul.

Ruby opens one eye to see the scene but gets wacked on the back of the head like Sapphire.

General: Focus.

Days pass by.

Sapphire is standing on top of the water in a pond, watching the fish play when Ruby enters the frame.

Ruby: Sapphire! General's calling us.

Sapphire: Got it.

She starts gliding through the water and in front of Ruby.

Ruby: Pearl hasn't spoken a single word the whole day.

She turns around and starts walking.

Ruby: Most of her responses are in nods.

Sapphire smiles before jumping on Ruby's back.

Ruby: What are you doing?

Sapphire smiles through Ruby's embarrassment.

Sapphire: My legs are tired. Carry me there, thank you.

Ruby starts to get annoyed

Ruby: I'll drop you off a cliff.

Sapphire: Oh, come on. Don't be like that.

Ruby: I'm not kidding.

Sapphire: Please.

Ruby glares at her before starting to walk with Sapphire still on her back.

There.

General: In only a week of training, your growth is significant... but the world can't wait any longer.

All three of them stand parallel to one another.

General: You need to find the earth avatar as soon as possible. So we'll assist you.

He hands each of them a pouch filled with gold coins.

General: Each pouch can last you up to a year. Once you unite with the earth avatar, bring the earth users here. The more troops on one side, the higher chance of victory. Understood?

They all nod but Sapphire is the only one smiling with excitement.

A few days pass.

Sapphire: Ruby. Are you sure?

They're walking through a dried wasteland.

Ruby: I am. The aura I sense is much stronger here.

Pearl quietly walks with them.

Sapphire: Is that it?

She points at a destroyed village.

Both Sapphire and Ruby look at one another.

Ruby shrugs.

Ruby: I dunno.

Raven, this time high in the sky, is still watching.

Raven: Sir. This time three avatars are together. I suggest sudden elimination.

Darkness: Wait till the fourth one arrives. If the last finds out about their death, it'll prove more of a challenge to find him.

Raven: But they might get stronger.

Darkness: No matter how strong they get, you'll always be stronger. Just remain in their shadows.

Raven: Got it.

They're at the abandoned village.

Sapphire looks to her right to see a small pool of water.

She takes the water and puts it in a small bottle, using her water magic.

Ruby: What happened here?

Pearl: No signs of life. How original.

Ruby: Do you think the dark forces caused this?

Pearl: That's the obvious explanation. I am inclined though.

Sapphire: Do you sense that?

The grains of sand beneath their feet start shaking.

Pearl suddenly jumps in the air, but Ruby and Sapphire's legs get trapped in a few rocks which rose from the ground.

Pearl: The earth users.

The sand falls and around a dozen people with green and pale yellow clothing rise. In between them stood a boy with emerald eyes and similar but more armored clothing.

Pearl gets in a battle pose but the boy gestures to her to stop.

He slowly walks up to the elemental avatars with a firm and serious look.

Emerald: Leave.

Sapphire: You. You're the earth avatar, aren't you?

Emerald: I am. And you three need to forget about this land and never return.

Ruby: But we need you.

Emerald: I know.

Ruby: Then why-

Emerald: But so do my people.

Sapphire: Not just us. The fate of this whole world. It's all up to you.

Emerald: Even if it was... To me, my people are still more important.

He uses the rocks to turn them around and  he also does so.

Emerald: Nothing personal. I just can't risk the dark forces finding out about our hidden location.

He starts walking away but Pearl jumps in front of him.

Pearl: We can ensure your people's safety.

Emerald: But I can't confirm your trust.

Pearl: We won't betray you. Why would we? We have a prevalent enemy.

Emerald: Betrayal only comes from the ones you trust. I don't trust any of you one bit.

Pearl: May I ask for a reason on why you refuse to assist us?

Emerald: Because...

He looks at the other earth users.

Emerald: Because we're not warriors... We're survivors.

Pearl: Do you not seek an era of peace?

Emerald: I hope you realize true peace can come when there's only one soul left.

Pearl: So you're just gonna give up? Just like that? Without even trying?

Emerald: We did try... And we failed. Us earth users have almost been driven to extinction.

Sapphire: (I-I never saw it. What is this new form of Pearl?)

Ruby: (Damn! These are some strong arguments.)

Pearl: We can't achieve progress without the necessary sacrifice. We've also lost many times in life, yet we still stand. We stand with pride.

Emerald: War only leads to loss. Death. There's no benefit; only death.

Pearl: Doesn't mean we should give up. Hope is what makes us live just a day longer. Hope is what gets us out of bed every morning. And hope is what drives us to fulfil our destiny. If you live it's because of hope. So use it.

Emerald: We don't want to win... we want to survive..

Pearl: What's the point? Everyone shares death. Why not die trying... trying to do what's right?

Emerald: Because we've already done it.

He walks two steps towards her.

Emerald: We've done things your way... and it didn't work. Now we're doing things my way.

Sapphire: You're right. War took everything from you... from us. But standing still isn't going to fix everything. Hiding isn't bringing anyone back.

Ruby: Exactly. A life lived in fear is a life not worth living.

Emerald: Let me live my life the way I want. You have no say in any of this.

Pearl: Look around you. The trees still whisper and the wind and stars still hang overhead. Ancient and blind yet beneath the gentle hum of the universe lies something colder; something quiet. An indifference so vast it swallows every scream; every prayer; every promise ever made.

Her luminescent eyes remain firm.

Earth, a trembling marble in the void spins out of habit. It does not spin for us. It never did.

Emerald remains stunned.

Sapphire: Jeez.

Ruby: What has she been through?

Pearl: We are born with soft hands and bright eyes, taught that we matter; that our meaning is ours to make. But our meanings are not baked into the fabric of the cosmos. The sun does not rise for us; it burns because it must. The ocean does not sigh its rhythm in order to soothe our dreams; they churn fast and violently, ruled by laws and chances. Civilizations rise like breath on glass; worn, fleeing... forgotten. Empires, ideologies, faiths, all of them crumble, swallowed by time like bones beneath a dessert.

She forms a small ball of air, right before crushing it.

Pearl: Our monuments will become dust, our existences will rot and even the memories, so sacred to us, will scatter like ashes across a windless void.

Sapphire: My god.

Ruby: What is she trying to do?

Pearl: We orbit a dying star in a galaxy slowly drifting apart in a universe where the end isn't fire or destruction... but entropy. The long, slow unraveling of everything. There will be no bang; no blaze... just stillness and yet here we are. Here we are pretending, dressing up nothingness with stories and rituals. Waging wars over gods and borders. Falling in love with people who will also die. Laughing. Crying. Shuffling endlessly through the noise in hopes of forgetting that we are temporary; accidents; flickers of awareness in an otherwise blind and endless night. And maybe... that's what makes it beautiful. Because against all the crushing silence of an uncaring world...

She smiles.

Pearl: We dare stand. We dare sing... the song of hope.

Emerald: That-

Pearl: My apologies. I... got carried away.

Emerald strokes his hand.

Emerald: Do you actually believe in that?

Pearl: Irrelevant question.

Sapphire: Ruby. Do-do you feel that?

Ruby: Feel what?

Sapphire's bottle cap spins open.

Ruby: What are you talking about?

Ruby watches in horror as Sapphire's heart sinks.

Sapphire launches ice spikes all across the sky, but the winds howl in response, revealing Raven.

His aura starts to shake the sky and crack the land beneath.

Ruby: He was invisible. Not just him... his aura too.

Emerald turns to his allies.

Emerald: SINK! QUICKLY!

Before the earth users could even grasp what's happening, an energy ball was launched at them... leaving nothing but fire.

Emerald: NO!

He tried to run towards them but Pearl grabbed his hand, stopping him.

Pearl: We need to deal with the situation at hand.

Emerald: They might still be alive.

Pearl: You can sense their aura... can't you?

Emerald looks at her with a distressed look as Pearl just nods.

An array of dark blades are launched but Sapphire blocks them using a wall of ice.

Sapphire: Could we do this later?

Pearl and Emerald get in a battle pose as the wall shatters.

Emerald launches a few rocks at Raven who just glares at him. The rocks start to orbit Raven.

With a single snap, he destroys all the rocks.

Emerald launches more rocks but shatters when coming in contact with his aura.

Raven: Let's make this interesting.

As more rocks are launched, Raven teleports out of the way; on top of a rock and launches all the rocks; all but one.

A loose rock goes flying towards Ruby who tries to run away but notices her legs still stuck.

Ruby looks up and blasts a flame output, destroying the rocks above and below.

Ruby: God bless combustion.

Pearl: Sonic slash.

She destroys the rock before blasting herself towards Raven.

Pearl: Be careful.

Raven: Watch...

Pearl: Vacuum rush.

She charges up a vacuum chamber the size of a human head and tries to hit him with it in point blank range, but he disappears and reappears behind her, hitting her with his elbow on her neck, causing her to faint.

Raven: As your doom crumbles up everything you ever thought you were.

Ruby charges towards them and kicks Raven with a leg of fire, blasting him to the ground before carrying Pearl (Princess style) and taking her to rest below a tree.

Raven charges up another energy attack but the floor opens up beneath his feet, and he falls in.

Sapphire drops some water on the rocks trapping her, causing them to get weak, as she breaks out.

Sapphire: Curse whoever gave her combustion, and not me.

Emerald continues to bury Raven but he blasts an energy ball at him, clearing a path for himself in the process..

He tries to block it using a wall but it goes right through, blasting him back towards Sapphire as Raven cleans some dust off his body.

Sapphire: This isn't just you fighting. We're all here... As a team.

Emerald nods and they both get in a battle pose.

Raven: Your life. You reason. Everything.

Suddenly an earth spike is launched from the ground, but he grabs it, crushing it into bits.

Sapphire: Hey Darkness!

She launches an ice spike which shatters into water drops and surrounds him.

Sapphire: Suck on this.

All the water forms ice crystals, piercing his body as a disk of ice is launched in his direction, which breaks when coming in contact with his body and pierces him deep in the skin.

Suddenly a giant flat plate of rock collapses on top of him but he breaks it with a single fist.

More ice spikes are launched at him, which all he dodges effortlessly.

Sapphire: Is this enough of an opening?

Ruby suddenly rises from the ground below, behind him right before blasting him with an endless beam of fire.

Through the fire he grabs Ruby by the neck, his body filled with second degree burns.

He slices Ruby countless times, leaving scars all over her body as she coughs out blood.

Sapphire suddenly launches whips of ice but it all breaks on impact on his aura.

Raven: Is this all you have to offer?

Pearl: Air snipe.

She snipes his arm from above the tree and frees Ruby who falls into the ground.

He peels off all his burnt flesh, as new skin starts to grow back almost instantly.

*BOOM*

Two sonic booms are launched at him but as the dust settles, there's nothing.

Sapphire: Where did he-

He suddenly appears behind Sapphire and is about to thrust through her stomach, when the ground below her feet and she herself glide away.

Emerald: Thank me later.

He forges a gauntlet out of rocks and forms a battle stance as Raven smiles.

Raven disappears again, this time appearing on the side of Emerald with a kick which he blocks.

Sapphire: (Just stay still for a damn second.)

Both of them blast one another back and without a second thought, charge at one another with their fists when-

Pearl: Sonic slash.

She slashes the air, separating them just for a second.

Sapphire: That's what I'm talking about.

The blood Pearl sniped from his hand turns into a solid state, pouring out and starts binding and piercing his body.

Sapphire: Here it-

She gets stabbed through the stomach as the blood successfully pierces through his armpit.

Sapphire: -goes.

He takes his blade out and is about to thrust again, but Pearl jumps between them, blasting them both back.

Pearl: Get the two of them out of here.

Emerald nods before making the earth swallow himself and Sapphire.

She launches an air slash at him, which he blocks with his hand before launching an energy ball but it misses as she's nowhere to be seen.

Pearl: (Can't keep up with the speed of sound.)

She blasts a dense bubble of air at his stomach, knocking him back.

Pearl: (Can he?)

As she's about to do it again, he suddenly grabs her hand and slams her to the ground.

Pearl blasts wind outwards, and creates a few sand storms, before blasting off.

Raven launches an energy attack but she claps the air, blasting herself forward and destroying the attack mid-air.

Raven: They're gone. Should I follow them?

Darkness: There's no need. We know where they're going. Prepare the dark forces.

Raven: Got it.

He turns into a form of darkness and vanishes out of thin air.

A few moments later.

Pearl flies inside a cave and collapses from tiredness.

Sapphire: You're here.

Pearl immediately gets up at the sight of seeing Sapphire and cleans some dust off her clothes.

Pearl: You healed quickly.

Sapphire: Guess being an elemental avatar has its perks, huh?

Pearl: I assume Mrs Ruby is still... recovering.

Sapphire's mood shifts to a serious one.

Sapphire: She should also recover… soon.

Pearl notices and walks up to a fainted Ruby.

Pearl: Bring some water.

Sapphire: Wh-

She looks at Pearl's stoic face and nods before pouring out some water from a hole in the cave.

Pearl tears a piece of her clothing and wets it before using it to clean some wounds on her body.

Sapphire starts walking deeper into the cave.

She makes it in a giant part of the cave with a small pond of water in the middle.

She notices Emerald sitting next to a rock and goes to sit there next to him.

Sapphire: Hey.

Emerald: What do you want?

Sapphire: To see some of your powers.

Emerald: Yeah. Well I ain't showing you anything.

Sapphire: Come on. Please.

Emerald: Could we not do this right now.

Sapphire: Why?

Emerald: All of my people died half an hour ago. Why do you think?

Sapphire: Point taken.

She smiles and continues looking at the water.

Emerald: Are you here just to bug me?

Sapphire: Nah. Just checking up on my new pal.

Emerald: We're not friends.

Sapphire: You know how egotistical you have to be to think the conversation is just about you?

Emerald looks at her with a confused look as she slowly walks towards the water pool and smiles back at him.

Sapphire: I'm talking about Kiki. The fish.

She looks at the fish swimming in the water.

Emerald tries to say something but stops himself.

Sapphire: I know how you feel.

Sapphire, her feet now in water, turns around in a bridge pose.

Sapphire: We both don't have anything truly left.

She smiles.

Emerald: Then why do you fight? Like-

She shuts him up by putting her finger on top of his lips.

Sapphire: Cutting others.

She sighs while shaking her head.

Sapphire: Ego again.

She chuckles before looking at her ring.

Sapphire: Because I can. Plus... their memories... they're precious to me. Wouldn't wanna lose all that, would I?

Emerald just looks at her speechless.

Sapphire: Well. It's too cold here. Let's get out.

She runs back as Emerald still remains frozen hearing their voices.

*The voices*

Sapphire: You're awake.

Ruby: Yea-

Bang. Thud.

Sapphire laughs.

Pearl: Are you two usually this overly affectionate?

Sapphire: You haven't seen the worst of us.

Ruby: She tackled me. How's that my fault?

A few hours later.

Sapphire is cooking food and Ruby is watching as Pearl leans against a wall.

Emerald slowly walks towards Pearl.

Pearl: What's attributing to your traction, may I ask?

She glares at him.

Emerald: I haven't even said anything yet.

Pearl: Were you hoping for conversation?

Emerald: Well...

He looks away.

Pearl sighs.

Pearl: What do you want?

Emerald: Who... is she?

Pearl: Mrs Sapphire? The youngest and brightest warrior I know.

Emerald: How can she be so... optimistic?

Pearl just glares him down.

Emerald: Oh. You don't know.

Sapphire walks up to them.

Sapphire: Pearl. Should we be called the horizon? Cause that's where the sea and sky meet.

Ruby: For the last time. 'Horizon' is a split between our vision and what's beyond.

Sapphire puffs her cheeks and hands them their bowls full of food.

Sapphire: Ok mom.

A few moments later.

Ruby and Sapphire are leaning against the same rock.

Sapphire suddenly rests her head on Ruby's lap.

Sapphire smiles in her direction.

Sapphire: I almost won.

Ruby: You want a praise?

Sapphire nods as Ruby strokes her hair.

Ruby: I'm... sorry. I wasn't strong enough.

Sapphire looks at her with confusion.

Sapphire: Sorry for what?

Ruby: Well... I couldn't protect you earlier-

Sapphire: -And?

Ruby is left stunned as Sapphire starts giggling and gets up.

Sapphire: What are you gonna do now? Join the dark side?

Ruby also starts laughing.

Ruby: Please. My standards aren't that low.

Emerald sits on the ground, cross-legged, watching the two of them play.

Pearl gives them a disappointed glare.

Emerald: Why're you always so cold?

Pearl just stares into his soul.

Emerald: Forget I asked.

Pearl: Could you follow me?

He gives her a confused look.

A few moments pass.

Emerald: What's up?

She takes him to a small statue of Buddha  carved into a small hill.

Pearl starts praying without saying another word.

Emerald: What are you doing?

Pearl: Praying... so your comrades have a peaceful and effusive life in heaven.

Emerald: You believe in heaven and hell.

Pearl: I don't.

Emerald: Then why are you-

Pearl: If anything, I feel like they deserve heaven after suffering a life full of losses.

Emerald looks down.

Pearl: It just feels better to think that way.

Emerald let's out a slight smile before also starting to pray.

Emerald: (They… aren't as bad as I thought.)

The next day.

Ruby: Are you all ready?

Sapphire: YEAH!!!

Emerald: Too loud.

Sapphire: Sorry.

Ruby: The air base is about a week's walk from here.

Emerald: Got it.

They all start walking but Emerald stops to look at the Buddha carving one last time and smiles.

Four days later.

Sapphire: It was so cool. You have no idea.

Pearl: (She's been talking about this for half a day. Mrs Ruby's long left the conversation and Mr Emerald's hit his eight yawn.)

Ruby: How long do you think she can go on for?

Pearl shrugs and continues walking.

Emerald: How long have you known one another for?

Ruby: Let's see. About a month.

Emerald: And does she not... bother you?

Ruby: Bother? No way. She's the sweetest.

Emerald: I'm talking about her positiveness.

Ruby gets silent.

Ruby: I guess...

Sapphire: So what do you think?

Pearl: Tax evasion should be legalized.

Sapphire: Exactly. Everyone does it. Why is it still illegal?

Ruby: Hey. Y'know the time I was charged with murder.

She runs towards them, laughing awkwardly.

Sapphire: Murder!!!

Pearl looks at her with disgust, causing Ruby to start freaking out.

Ruby: Wait. I can explain.

Sapphire: Be happy It wasn't arson.

Emerald looks at Sapphire's laughing face.

Emerald: (I don't think we know you that well... do we?)

Later that night.

Emerald: Why are we doing this again?

They all are setting up a picnic blanket.

Sapphire: Ruby couldn't find enough reason why not to.

Ruby: My bad.

Pearl glares Ruby down.

Ruby: I'm sorry. Okay?

Emerald: Got that. But why did you suggest it?

Sapphire: Why? Why not? Plus...

She stares into the stars before reaching out, trying to grab them.

Sapphire: This is most likely our last adventure together.

She puts her hand near her heart and gives a soft smile.

Sapphire: So let's enjoy the moment while it lasts.

She sighs.

Sapphire: Also because we got too much money to waste.

Emerald: Rightfully so.

Sapphire: Want me to spit some wisdom?

Ruby: Please don't.

Sapphire: Of all the ways this world can take someone from you, death is the kindest.

Pearl: True.

Ruby: You can't just drop existential dreads out of the blue.

Sapphire: Is it a crime to start a conversation?

Emerald: Not that I'm aware of.

Ruby: Judging by how much you speak,it should be.

Sapphire sits on the blanket, signalling the others to sit too.

Sapphire: See. This isn't so bad.

Ruby: What do you think, Pearl?

Pearl: This moment could be filled with utility as we could collect our thoughts and prepare a plan.

Emerald: You got anything in mind?

Pearl quietly shakes her head.

Sapphire: But I do.

Ruby: Here we go again.

The next morning.

Pearl is up in the sky, observing her surroundings. She suddenly stops, blocking the sun using her hand, and points towards a tower and some buildings in the surrounding area.

Pearl: There. Civilization.

She slowly descends to the side of her allies.

Ruby: Finally. We can get supplies.

Sapphire: Plus we're pretty close to the air user's hideout. Only a day's walk from here.

Emerald: I have no idea what you're talking about.

Sapphire: Didn't ask an egotistical jerk, did I?

His face get tomato red as he turns back.

Emerald: Shut up.

Sapphire smiles, teasing him.

Ruby: Let's get going.

Pearl nods and starts walking as the others also follow.

Ruby: Is this?

Pearl: An abandoned water user village.

She sighs before kneeling down. She picks up some dust from the ground and carries it up, where the wind blows it away.

Pearl: It appears the dark forces got here too.

She puts her hands together and starts praying.

Ruby: What's she doing?

Emerald also starts praying without saying another word as Ruby also does the same.

Pearl: Well that's that.

She starts to walk in.

Ruby: A former water village?

She turns to Sapphire.

Ruby: Did you know about this?

Sapphire, caught off guard, starts to shake her head.

Sapphire: N-no. No I didn't.

They all walk in the village.

Ruby: Ok. Split up. Search for supplies and meet back up here in an hour. Got it?

Pearl nods.

Emerald: Got it.

Sapphire: Y-yeah.

Pearl looks at her with a confused look but changes her gaze when she hears Emerald speak.

Emerald: I'll go this way.

He points in a direction before turning here and walking.

A few moments later.

Pearl walks through the destroyed ruins, when she notices a giant hole in the wall.

She sees a small skeleton of a child, lying in a corner as a doll rests on a shelf.

She, with a flick of her fingers, blows the doll to the skeleton before turning back, and walking away.

Emerald, covering some ground on destroyed lands, turns a corner to see a small plant.

He gets to his knees and uproots the two leaved plant and puts it in a small corner with some grass.

Emerald: You're safe there.

Some gentle wind breezes through the surrounding, slowly blowing his clothes.

Ruby, clenching her fists with a small fireball to her left, explores a dark tavern.

She sees a basket full of fruits and is about to pick it up but immediately jolts back after hearing a sound.

She turns around to look at the source of the sound and finds a rat.

Ruby: Oh. Just a little angle.

She releases a sigh of relief before walking up to the rat, half buried below some rubble.

She takes the basket and walks up to the rat.

She picks up some rubble, freeing the rat before putting an apple in front of it, before walking away.

Sapphire, lost in her world, walks through the quiet alleyways when she notices a well in front.

She walks towards the well and sees her face in the reflection.

*drop*

Suddenly a drop of tear hits the water of the well and Sapphire notices that she's crying.

She grabs some water from the well and washes her face with it, before storing some in her bottle.

Suddenly, her gaze is stolen by a blue banner with wave patterns similar to her wrist band.

Sapphire: (I do miss them huh?)

She shakes her head before kicking some sand.

Sapphire: (Well missing them isn't bringing anyone back.)

She continues moving.

Meanwhile, in the layer of darkness.

A land with nothing but darkness and the mist, Raven stands in front of a few dozen other dark users.

Raven: Get ready. We're invading the air user's territory.

He launches a dark blade towards a bird, killing it.

Raven: Remember. In the world of the cosmos... no cries are heard... only power speaks.

All the members of the dark forces cheer.

Raven: For the darkness.

Ruby: I'm back.

Emerald: What took so long?

Ruby: The building I was under almost collapsed.

Pearl: Where's Mrs Sapphire?

Emerald: How would I kn-

She glares him down before facing Ruby.

Ruby: She'll be here quickly.

Pearl sighs.

Pearl: I wouldn't be so sure.

She glances over at the tribe's flag.

Emerald: Why so?

Pearl: I assume you know about the pain she hides... She is the youngest among us... and the most relied upon.

The wind howls in the background.

Pearl: This place is most likely the cause of her pain... Yet we've still been leaning on her too much.

They both get a stoic expression.

Emerald: She's true. We know almost nothing about Sapphire... the real Sapphire.

Ruby: What can we do then?

Pearl: YOU two will go locate her.

Ruby: Wait. What about you?

Pearl starts levitating above the air.

Pearl: That's not relevant.

Ruby: Wait!

She flies away without even turning back.

Emerald: God.

Ruby: Let's go. I can sense her aura.

Emerald: Are you not gonna question her?

Ruby: She's always been like this.

Pearl lands on the highest point of the town, (On top of the tower located in the tribe.) standing on one leg.

She sighs and shakes her own head.

Pearl: Why must I be so selfish?

She looks at the palm of her hand.

Pearl: Wonder why I always run.

She suddenly turns around and blasts a dark warrior down.

Dark warrior: Elemental.

Pearl just glares him down.

Pearl: Air snipe.

A super dense bullet of air hits him on the eye, causing him to start coughing blood.

Pearl: Vacuum rush.

She dashes towards him at the speed of sound before kicking him using a vacuum chamber.

He gets hit towards a tree and dies.

Pearl: The dark forces.

She looks up at the sky.

Pearl: They're coming... aren't they?

Meanwhile,

Sapphire: Here we go.

She cleans off one last spec of foliage off a statue of the water elemental. (A stone statue of a genie like figure with a floating water droplet for a head)

The statue is located in the middle of a pond, with dust covering the surface.

Sapphire, standing on top of the water, taps her foot down twice and the water clears up, as lily pads and other underwater flora rise up.

She smiles before front flipping out the pond.

She looks around and through her memories, sees a bunch of blurred colorful figures, many holding hands, some in groups, and all having fun.

Memories: Here you go.

Memories: How much for the fish?

Memories: Man. Taxes suck.

Memories: Bless whoever.

Memories: Dude, chill out... get it? Ice pun?

Through the crowd, a woman who isn't blurry, walks towards her.

She sees a childhood self of her holding a gold coin.

Sapphire: Mama. Here. (child)

She waves towards the woman.

Mother: What is it?

Sapphire: Look. (child)

She points at the statue while holding a coin.

Mother: Go on then. Throw the coin.

Sapphire: Why? (child)

Mother: If it lands, you can make a wish, and it'll come true.

She throws the coin but it misses and Sapphire's eyes get teary.

Mother: Don't worry.

She pats her head.

Mother: It's the thought that counts. Make a wish. I'm sure the water elemental will listen.

Sapphire gets excited, before starting to pray.

Sapphire: Oh great elemental. Please listen to my prayers and fulfill my only wish. Please give me sushi for dinner. (child)

Mother starts to laugh.

Mother: Don't say it out loud.

Sapphire: But I want the elemental to hear my prayers. (child)

Mother: Let's not disturb gods for this.

She gives a soft smile.

Mother: I'm pretty sure I can fulfil your desire.

Sapphire's eyes light up.

Sapphire: Really? (child)

She sees a small glass box with a hole on top.

Sapphire takes a gold coin out of her pocket and throws it.

It falls in, making a ting sound that rings all around.

Sapphire, now shocked, starts praying.

Once she stops, she smiles to herself.

Sapphire: I didn't change a bit... did I?

She starts crying but when she notices, she wipes the tears.

A few moments later.

She walks through the road, as more and more blurry figures fill her surroundings.

She stops in front of the house with half of the exterior destroyed.

Her mind starts to fill up the gaps as she sees a young Sapphire sitting on a dinner table, now flipped, with her mother.

A glass dome with a goldfish remained in the middle.

Sapphire takes out a box and starts to put some food on the tank.

Mother: Be careful. You might overfeed her.

Sapphire: Wouldn't she grow up faster if we feed her more? (young)

Her mother chuckles.

Mother: If we just feed her, she'll get fat.

The fish starts eating, as Sapphire looks at her do so.

Sapphire: Ok. Got it. (young)

Sapphire (IRL) looks up and notices a half destroyed tower, as more memories fill it up.

Sapphire, now a young-teen, leans against a window, holding a genie lamp.

Sapphire: Wonder what this'll do? (Young-teen)

She rubs the lamp but nothing happens, causing her to chuckle.

Sapphire: I have no idea what I was expecting. (Young-teen)

Suddenly, some energy gathers in front of her, and the water elemental appears.

Sapphire: Holy-(Young-teen)

She drops the lamp off the window.

Sapphire: Water elemental? (Young-teen)

Water elemental: Sapphire.

In real time, she walks up to the destroyed tower and starts to look around, but stops when seeing the lamp from earlier.

She gets to her knees, picking up the lamp and rubs it, nothing happens.

She glazes back at her house and sees a skeleton wearing the same clothes as her mother but more tore, taken over by time.

She just remains seated there, the ring in her hand reflecting the light of the sun, emitting a golden hue.

Meanwhile,

Ruby: Yeah. We really messed up.

Emerald: The thing is... all three of us, Pearl included, are just... bad at expressing how much she's meant to us.

Ruby: Wish we would've known sooner.

They walk through the once lively town.

Emerald: But to some degree, she's also the one at fault.

Ruby: How come?

Emerald: Hidden tears stab more than piercing daggers.

Ruby: Stop speaking like Pearl.

Emerald: Oh. I was?

Ruby: Wait.

They stand in front of the pond with the elemental statue, now in tip-top shape.

Ruby: She was here just a minute ago. Her aura's strong here.

Emerald nods with a serious expression.

A few moments later.

They walk through an alleyway, and as they are about to move, Ruby sees Sapphire, lying next to the skeleton, quietly weeping.

Emerald: I feel bad for Sapp-

Ruby covers Emerald's mouth and drags him back into the alleyway.

Ruby: Quiet down.

Her voice remained barely above a whisper.

Ruby: Do you not see her?

She points at the house with Sapphire.

Emerald: Ok. We found her. Now let's go.

Ruby: But is it the right time?

Emerald: Waiting for the right time might mean wasting the time given to us in the present.

Ruby: I said,' Stop acting like Pearl.'

Emerald: Well.

He sighs.

Emerald: You got this.

He pats her shoulder before getting swallowed by the ground.

Ruby: Wait!

She kicks the ground in frustration before releasing a sigh.

Ruby: Let's do this.

She walks up to Sapphire, zoning off, from the side.

Ruby: Hey. Sapphire.

Silence

Ruby: Sapphire.

Sapphire: Oh.

She breaks out of her dreams and flinches before turning to Ruby.

Sapphire: Ruby, it's you.

She wipes some tears off her face and gazes at a serious Ruby.

Sapphire: Sorry. I got distracted.

She starts giggling.

Sapphire: Well. Hopefully you three found something, cause I'm starving.

She gets up, clearing some dust from her clothes, and starts walking away.

Sapphire: Speaking of, where are Emerald and Pearl? Are they-

Suddenly, Ruby grabs Sapphire's hand and pulls her into a hug.

Sapphire: -What-What's going-?

Ruby: Hopefully I don't have to say this again.

Sapphire: What's wrong?

Ruby sighs before tightening her grip.

Ruby: If you're sad, then cry.

Sapphire, tears building up in her eyes, covers her face with her shoulder, clenching her back.

Sapphire: Why? Ruby, why?

Her voice barely above a whisper.

Sapphire: Why am I so weak?

Her voice is getting louder with every word.

Sapphire: Say, will saving the world make up for my past weaknesses?

Tears start rolling down her cheeks.

Sapphire: Will they forgive me if I breathe in a freed world?

Her ring clenches on to Ruby with dear life.

Sapphire: Hey Ruby, why am I so weak?

More and more tears fall out of her navy, glistering eyes.

Sapphire: What's even the point if they're already gone?

Ruby closes her eyes, stopping herself from tearing out.

Sapphire: Please tell me. I don't wanna lose anyone ever again!

She fully starts to break down into tears as more and more continue to come.

Sapphire: I WANNA BE STRONGER!!!

She continues to weep louder and louder.

Sapphire: I WANNA BE BETTER!!!

Her face, fully buried in Ruby's arms, turns fully red from tears.

Sapphire: Please. I wanna be-be stronger.

Ruby starts to gently stroke her hair.

Ruby: You are. You are no doubt the strongest one I know.

She looks at Sapphire's crying face.

Ruby: The only one I know who can keep something so deep.

A few moments later.

Ruby: What's wrong?

Emerald stands in front of a wall.

Emerald: Pearl.

He points at the wall.

Wall- I've detected some insects. Just gotta deal with them. Be back soon. -Pearl.

Sapphire: By insects does she mean-

The scene shifts to Pearl dodging a slash.

Pearl: Sonic slash.

She slashes the air and takes out a few opponents.

Dark personnel: Captain. Who is she? This one girl is taking down our entire army.

Dark captain: I'm not surprised.

Pearl claps, creating a shockwave that knocks many dark troops down.

Dark captain: Afterall... this is Pearl.

Dark personnel: Pearl?

He nods.

Dark captain: Pearl; The Storm slayer. The daughter of the wind general. The wind avatar... and the one individual... who's taken down more forces of the darkness then the rest of the world combined.

Pearl rips a soldier's blade before piercing him through his gut with it.

Dark captain: She can sense even the slightest disturbance or change in the surrounding air.

Suddenly, a dark energy ball is launched at Pearl, but she easily notices.

Dark captain: Not only that, she can reduce air friction to almost zero, allowing her to travel at speeds which break the sound barrier.

Suddenly, Pearl appears behind the attack.

Pearl: Vacuum rush.

She punches it back to the sender, killing a few other troops in the process.

Dark captain: This one girl holds the strongest natural weapon on this planet. She's weaponizing the invisible... into the invincible.

Dark user: Jump her. NOW!

All the dark troops jump her but she blasts them all outwards with winds strong enough to flatten trees.

More come to fight but she deflects and dodges all and every attack.

A dark spear is launched at her but is stopped due to the ground rising up.

All the troops are hit with a wave of the earth as the land opens up before Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire launch out.

Pearl: This was unnecessary. I could've dealt with them myself.

Emerald: We know.

Sapphire: Is it a crime to have a flashy entrance?

She smiles.

Sapphire: Get ready for an elemental beat down.

Pearl gives her a cringed glare.

Sapphire: What? We're elementals aren't we?

Ruby: Technically avatars.

Pearl: Why?

Sapphire: You're in our team, so I thought you should know.

Pearl: I refuse to indulge or partake in idiocy.

They all get in a battle pose.

Sapphire: Meh.

Ruby blasts outwards towards a few troops, and as she lands, so does an explosion.

Ruby: For some reason or another. I'm in a bad mood today.

Dark personnel: Captain. What do we do?

Dark captain: Regardless. Our fates have been sealed... so let's die fighting for our nation.

Ruby forms a ring of fire around her, right before blasting it outwards.

More troops charge but Emerald launches solid rocks at them. As the rocks land, the form chains from the ground, locking them on the ground.

Ruby: My kill.

She incinerates random troops as the scene shifts to Sapphire.

Sapphire: Having fun?

She blasts them away using water from the nearby ocean.

Sapphire: Perks of fighting near a fishermen town.

She freezes all the water.

With Emerald and her, they successfully trapped every troop.

*Bang*

Pearl: Air snipe.

*Bang*

One by one, all the dark forces start to fall.

Sapphire: Pearl wait. We need them for-

*Bang*

Just like that, the last one also falls.

Sapphire: -Information.

Pearl: That's the act of war. One of them.... survives... one of us... dies.

She starts to clean some dust off her clothes.

Pearl: Next time, come when I'm actually struggling.

Emerald: So never?

Pearl: Vacuum rush.

Pearl suddenly appears in front of the dark captain and punches him away using a vacuum rush.

*Boom*

He tries to get up but an air snipe to the head takes him down.

Pearl: No survivors.

Ruby slowly walks up to Sapphire.

Ruby: Hey. About earlier. I-

Sapphire: -I'm sorry.

She bows to her, her face tomato red.

Sapphire: Could we not talk about that?

Emerald: Well. All's well that ends well.

Pearl: Has it concluded?

She looks up to see a dark night sky, with a single star.

Emerald: Not really.

He also gazes at the hopeful night sky, pointing at the star.

Emerald: Isn't this the thing you mean? Hope, am I right?

Pearl just looks at him before continuing the gaze.
