Chapter 3 ~ Dark Enigma

~ Third Person ~

"Oh my, what's this peasant doing alone?~" Aella said with fake concern, "Has your friends finally ditch you?" She exclaimed. "She is running a bit late, how saddening." was Lily's reply "But I guess you got ditched yourself, since your talking to this lowly peasant." Lily exclaimed with a smile, trying to annoy Aella.

Aella laughed, "It's the other way around, actually. Though I appreciate that you know your place in this school. You should be thankful I've wasted my precious time to console you." Lily just wanted to be left alone, she smiled and said in reply "How sweet of you to waste both our times, your consolation was never needed and sickening." they both laugh, at this point everyone was staring at them. "I'll be going now, have a wonderful day." Aella said with a smirk.

"Great. I've lost my appetite."

It's cold.

"I should've.. told.. them.." Phoebe said before fainting.

~ Third Person ~

Lily left the cafeteria without finishing her food. She went straight back to their dorm, to show the footage to their University's head.

Flashback

January 5, 2024

1:00 am

Before Lily went to bed, she made sure to attach the small magical recording device disguised as a charm that she made on her front zipper slider.

"The book from Dad I took inspiration from said it barely had presence... I'll just find out tomorrow." Lily said before turning it on, and going to bed.

End of flashback.

Lily is a very intelligent mage, even though she lacks talent in fighting and doesn't feel mana (she is not a field mage), she's an incredible support because of her amazing devices, and her strong healing magic.

~ Lily Ava ~

After taking the charm, I sat down on my bed and pressed the charm's head to open the footage. The device had a 3 hour cool down after it automatically turns off, it isn't properly developed yet, so once turned on it catches a whole 24 hours of footage. It's a camera so it has a full 360° view.

Anyway, after fast-forwarding that felt like an eternity, I finally found something interesting.

Around Midnight.

~ Third Person ~

The footage shows Phoebe as she stood up and went to her study. At exactly 12 midnight, red light flashed and she disappeared. Lily cut that part, saved it and rushed to the office. Just to be sure, she left a copy in the big cabinet.

Unfortunately, only the teachers who doubt her were there.

"Just my luck. Fantastic. Absolutely, fantastic."

After showing the footage and explaining, "The video was greatly edited, you should've joined the comic club." Professor Tacito said, a tall man with black hair and white eyes wearing a brown coat. "We will inform the head mistress about your work, the storyline was very interesting." Professor Sayna said with a smile, a tall woman with piercing red eyes wearing a white coat.

Lily felt mocked, but still thanked them and left, leaving the video at the office. She knew they wouldn't believe her. "I'm glad I made those copies." were her thoughts until she bumped into someone.

Thud.

"Just how unlucky can I get?"

"You ok?" Cade said reaching out his hand. Lily froze for a moment, "CADEEE!!" "Hey..?" Cade responded a bit startled. Lily quickly stood up, grabbed his arm and pulled him into their dorm, everyone in the hallway was staring at them.

".... Lily, y'know I'm not allowed here right..?"

"That doesn't matter right now! Look!" Lily quickly took the video recording and showed it to Cade, before she could explain, someone knocked on the door. Lily cautiously opened it

It was Hayden.

He looks behind Lily and spots Cade. "Are you out of your mind?" he immediately said. "Come in." Lily simply said "D'you know how fast rumors are??" "Just get in." Cade said a bit annoyed, but he knows he'll be big help. Rolling his eyes Hayden went in, the video played again and Lily explained.
